  1. Is there any known connection between the american Mayans and the protoculture, or is this just a case of using a "cool english word" without considering unintended implications?
  2. I admit to having a fondness for Ghost Protocol. It wasn't really great cinema, but I liked the premise of a spy movie where everything goes wrong and the gadgets are defective.
  3. The shape of the box? *looks for an unboxing video* Okay, yeah, that is long enough it could be mistaken for a short rifle box, I GUESS. The giant purple truck painted on each side might be a counterindication, though. My assumption is it is buried under a ridiculous pile of holiday shipments.
  4. Presumably the Old Republic didn't call itself that, and they're worried about audiences being confused.
  5. Nope. I came in through the Playmates toyline/associated cartoon. I'm familiar with the comic, though. The B/W one AND the one based on the toys.
  6. I give it six months before Intel starts explaining how there were never any plans to go to 10nm because it isn't physically possible, and just accuses everyone else of straight-up lying about their transistor sizes.
  7. That logo sucks. I haven't really liked it since it was introduced, but this one sucks extra hard because that 5 doesn't look like it belongs(but rounding it would make it look like a second S). The rounded letters were explicitly designed to look good next to a 3.
  8. The pearlescent and chrome paints on Nicee is a very pleasant surprise. It looks really, well, nice. I expected something flatter, and I'm pleased they aren't going for a "toon-shaded" look.
  9. Based on the DVD and BR releases, it looks like Bandai owns it. Kind of a dick move to sell it without even mentioning it to Anno AFTER Anno offered to buy it.
  10. By "candid statement", they apparently mean "eight-page scathing rant". Anno has good cause to be mad at them, by all appearances. I'm just not used to seeing that much honesty from a business head, much less a japanese one.
  11. Sounds like a good way to accidentally remove his "truck nutz".
  12. Baron Ashura and the terrible , horrible, no good, very bad day.
  13. I have the tiniest reason for not seeing Solo. I didn't think the actor looked like a young Han Solo. He looked more like the parody Han Solo from Blackstar Warrior, and I would TOTALLY watch a Blackstar Warrior movie with him in it. But not a "real" Star Wars film.
  14. Same. I've gotten a few random cheap games, but nothing interesting or noteworthy.
  15. Honestly, I think they had bigger plans and then something went wrong. The hand articulation implies they are supposed to fold into the arms, but they don't. And the tolerances are all screwed up in several places, from a manufacturer that isn't known for incompetence. I don't know if budget or schedule or what got in the way, but it really feels like it was only half-finished. Hell, maybe they just blew all their engineering budget on the legs. ... Fortunately, I like curvy robots for their own sake.
  16. I picked her and her "sister", Echara the pachycephalosaurus, up in the same sale(only Primus can judge me!). Echara's weapons are better, in that all of them will stay pegged in wherever you peg them(they are also stolen from the Teenage Ninja Robot Turtles, as she carries ninja stars, throwing knives. and swords styled like sais). Also, I think the very thick and tall forehead works better for Echara(because pachycephalosaurus). You forgot one important detail: She can do the "boobs & butt" pose(once I realized she had a butt, there was no doubt in my mind that this was happening). But she can't put her hand on her hip(I WANTED her posed like she was pulling her gun off her skirt armor). I don't understand how they can do so well with the legs and then just phone in the arms. Which is really my impression of this entire mold: the things that are done well are done very well, and the things that are done poorly are done very poorly. And, well, the dinosaur mode is basically the Transformers equivalent of a fursuit. It is CLEARLY just a humanoid robot wearing a dinosaur head and claws and calling it a transformation. Which, well, isn't the laziest transformation in the line's history, but it is up there.
