  1. My Vf-11b is on the way to my country !!! Check HLJ and now is low stock instead of Dec. Restock. Very happy to complete the Macross Plus trio. And what could be better to get this valk at a retail price on Christmas. I hope Customs does not interfere with my joy
  2. That is a great line indeed  Could not resist, I just went for the VF-11b. I doubt it will arrive on Christmas, but hope I can get this beautiful bird before the end of the year.
  3. Definitely a great Macross sale. This is what the retail price should always be.
  4. If it says Dec restock, it means more are on the way right? I will wait a little more, hope the sale still goes until the end of the year.
  5. That sucks This is a very tempting sale. I was about to use the blowout sale with free EMS to buy the VF-11b, but I had to buy another item from a sale list and none of them interested me. Moreover, prices of those sale items were around US$50. With this new sale offer, I practically get free EMS shipping and save some without buying anything else
  6. Using dafunguy's picture, I played with it in Photoshop This is what the size should be for a normal, not anime head:
  7. Why did I read this post? 11 remaining
  8. I just got my VT-1 Ostrich and VE-1 and they look awesome. People were complaining about the high prices of these toys, but there is no other company that is offering perfect renditions of these cool valkyries. I never thought Yamato could acomplish making top quality toys as Bandai. Yes I know, there was the broken shoulder problem and other defects from previous releases, but those are fixable. Unfortunately these toys have no customer service in USA, blame Harmony Gold not Yamato. Who coud have thought, the coolest toy I ever have the pleasure of having is from Yamato. It is not a Macross toy, it is the Ingram 1/24 Patlabor; what a magnificent toy.
  9. I agree, got my VT-1 a week ago and it is a perfect rendition of this famous valkyrie. This is US$140 well paid, a friend brought it from Japan, free shipping I get a toy that looks like a painted model kit, plus it transforms nicely. One good improvement is the tampo control panel. Instead of having the white background now it has it in black like it should be so no need to add the sticker. Hope to see that on the other releases.
  10. According to Amazon Japan, the VE-1 will be available on Sept. 25th
  11. Sorry if this has been answered before. When is the exact release of the VE-1? A friend is in Japan and coming back on the 18th. If The VE-1 is not out on the street by the 15th, then I will have to buy the VT-1 which is nice too.
  12. I am pretty sure they are meant to be feet covers. They are adding those to give the feet a bigger look, so the feet won't look tiny just like the hands
  13. I totally agree with you Ivan. I liked the first movie but this one was was too much robot action. I had to rest my eyes by looking aside from time to time.
  14. Damn! I am starting to hate these new Frontier toys. They are too nice, I wanna get them all but I still need to buy VF-11, VT-1, VE-1, Alto, Luca, Michael valks. I don't know what to do, I hope to win the lotto this year.
  15. This is the scene from DYRL that Yamato is trying to replicate with this new 1/60 Roy VF-1S.
  16. There is a scene in Macross DYRL movie where the Strike Roy Focker VF-1S in battloid mode looks darker than usual. It appears to be that color.
  17. So, is the pilot figure a new mold or is it the same YF-19 giant Isamu figure?
  18. I don't know if this has been answered before. Is the pilot figure from the same mold of the YF-19? I think the Isamu pilot of the YF-19 is too big to be in 1/60 scale. Did Yamato make a new figure for the VF-11?
  19. Yes I agree. Yamato should have created a way of making the tail fins bigger just as clever as the heatshield mechanism.
  20. I don't have the toy yet but seems a pretty easy fix. Just put a piece of cotton inside the lower heatshield. That might hold it in place.
  21. Good find. It also confirms that the Izamu pilot figure is too big to be in 1/60 scale.
  22. I liked Macross Frontier. It was a long time since I watched a Macross series without skipping episodes or sequences. The animation is superb. The story gets better on the last episodes and the final episode was great. I did not like the main characters though: Sheryl, Alto and Ranka. They could have been more appealing. Ranka was the worst, too childish, she should have been more mature (18 years old). The songs were also not good enough. I liked the first opening and some other song, the rest have to watch the anime again or buy the cd to get used to. The valkyries are good enough but as someone said, the faces look like insects on the Alto and Osma. Would have been better using human like faces similar to the Basara VF-19. Enemies (Vajra) were good opponents to humans, just like Starship Trooper. The Vajra was almost identical to the Legion Kaiyu in Gamera 2: http://www.konami.jp/th/candy/gamera/legion.html I will watch it again but not all the episodes, waiting for the movie to be better.
  23. I made a similar custom using a Roy Scheme. Did not paint anything, so I changed the tan color to white with Photoshop and looks better. I am a big fan of the YF-19, I might consider buying another one for this custom.
  24. "Why bother making these "adult collectibles" transformable when a static statue version would suffice?" As someone said it, the fact that your toys can transform or imitate what you have seen on TV is a plus. It also gives the feeling of extra value as you are buying two, three toys in one. I am the one that get the toys from the mail, admire the mint package, open and play with them and see what they do and then put them on my display cabinet where I can't have easy access (completely sealed to avoid dust) When I like the toy too much, I buy another one to display it in a different mode. Sometimes I try to fix imperfections and customize it a little bit. Golden age of collectibles of our generation was without doubt in the 70s and 80s. Toys were much cheaper but with an excellent quality and they were meant to be treated as toys. Nowadays cheap toys are junk and the expensive ones are considered pieces of art.
  25. Saw the movie and unfortunately it is exactly what the review says. What saves the movie? Nothing, although I liked the Bulma and the other Asian girl that looks like Asia Carrera (she was going to be for that part I guess) Dragonball Evolution sucks big time!!!
