  1. I feel exactly the same way Cyclone Trooper. I would have wished a bit more of realistic continuity and more believable mecha.
  2. I said it before and I say it again. The quality of plastic used on toys from the 80's was far better than today's plastic. All of this plastic breakage on shoulders, hinges, legs etc from Yamato is due to poor quality plastic.
  3. I also want to see pictures of the Frontier pilot with the VF ver.2 pilot
  4. I am retiring most of my 1/48 valks, I am only keeping the VF-1S Fokker, Hikaru, Low vis. and Stealth. Although the 1/48 line looks impressive, I did not like the lack of detail on the cockpit, the big canopy and the long nosecone The 1/60 VF-1 version 2 has better proportion, the only mistake was the forward seat cockpit which I fixed and now looks almost perfect. The figures of the Vf-1D cockpit look too big. Once again, Yamato fails on that area. I don't know why Yamato made the mistake of the pilots scale in all the 1/60 line. Almost all the figures look out of proportion in comparison of the dash and seat. The YF-19 pilot is almost the same size as the 1/48. The VF-0 and the SV-51 pilots also varies in size but they fit better on the cockpit. The VF-1 version 2 pilot has the worst looking position. It is sad that such a nice toy can't have a nice pilot figure. Why Yamato can't make a cockpit with a better pilot and the seat in the proper distance like this:
  5. I have the reissue 2001 vf-1A Hikaru and have signs of yellowing on legs, shoulders, nose and face. It is in my bedroom on a display cabinet with no direct sunlight. I have other toys from the 80s and some have slight yellowing but they were in my cabinet for more than 10 years. I can assure the quality of plastic of the 80s was far superior than the plastic toy manufactures use nowadays.
  6. I just checked all the boxes, and now it works. All is back to normal, thanks for the help. Thought it was fixed, went into the forum later and have to log in again. Problem persists.
  7. I cleared all tha private data on Firefox but the problem persists. I have to log in again to the forum but the username and password is automatically filled at least. This started to happen after the 3 days server maintenance a few days back. But I think at the same time, Firefox had an upgrade. I guess Firefox is the problem, have not tried with another web browser though.
  8. Hi Every time I go to the forum I have to log in again. Even by clicking on the remember password button, it does not keep it. I checked the options-remember password and it is on. Anybody has the same problem with Firefox?
  9. Yes, you can pay me directly via paypal using the same email address I can send all orders on Friday Time to put a picture of the VF-1S V2 with my stickers applied and panel lined with pencil.
  10. Hi I have a new sticker sheet for the 1/60 second version VF-1S/A/J/D If you want to keep the original stickers intact and give a new look to the toy, then this is the sheet you need. As usual, this is a professionally printed sticker on high quality ultra thin 3M sheet. You need to cut the markings (not pre-cut) Background color is white, not blue (so you can see the white markings) Price is US$10. Shipping is free if you are in the US If interested, this is my new email:takatoys email I will take orders until Thursday.
  11. I have the first reissue 1/55 Bandai Hikaru VF-1A and it is showing yellowing on the elbows and nose. It is sad that with all the new technology, there is not a product that can be added before injecting the plastic on the mold to eliminate yellowing. That yellowing on the VT-1 actually fixed the toy, now it has the right color
  12. I was between the YF-19 and the 1/60 VF v2. After panel lining, adding stickers and fixing the pilot figure, I am with the 1/60 VF v2
  13. Sorry, I am here I don't live in the States but I have a friend who travels every 2 weeks to USA. If anybody wants a sticker, I will be accepting orders until saturday. Regards Erick
  14. Ok, I painted the pilot and the result is evident. Now everything looks perfect. This is my favorite toy now.
  15. This new 1/60 VF-1S is worth buying even if it doesn't transform. In fighter it looks amazing. The nosecone, which was always a common issue with the 1/55 and 1/48, is now the right size. The tinted canopy is something I did not expect; whoever thought about it deserves recognition, it looks neat. The only problem was the ugly pilot but it is now fixed. This toy can compete with the Hasegawa 1/72 kit, that is how good it looks.
  16. Got the VF-1S v2 last week and for me, this is the best VF-1S toy so far. Looks great in all modes, the only thing I hated was the hamster pose pilot and the seat too close to the dash. I just finished rebuilding the cockpit and now it looks perfect. Time to go to sleep , a pair of preview shots, more pictures tomorrow.
  17. I just got the new 1/60 V2 VF-1S. I have not transformed it yet, but I think it looks perfect in fighter. Until I saw the pilot and the cockpit and was really upset. I hate the pilot and "the hamster pose" and the seat is too forward. Glad the whole nose is detachable so right out of the box I decided to make the modification. Unfortunately parts inside the cockpit were glued; but with patience and pushing back and forth, I could dismantle the whole cockpit. The attachment for the canopy had pins but was also glued. The only way to take it apart was to cut the pins with a very sharp knife. That did not bother me much cos it can be re glued without effort. I did not have to sculpt a new pilot, I had a few redesigned pilots from and old 1/55 project. The pilot fits nice with the seat pushed back. It only needs paint for completion.
  18. I am not sure about that one. Unlike Yamato, Bandai put a lot of tampo markings on the 1/55 VF. Bandai did not paint the shoulders. If you don't want to use the sticker sheet you can make the shoulder markings with some special black tape that are sold on hobbyshops.
  19. I will make stickers for the 1/60 VF-1 unless it comes with lots of tampo markings. It is also better for collectors to keep the original sticker intact.
  20. Hi I still have a few stickers from the site shown on my signature. I can take orders until tomorrow afternoon.
  21. Smart move from Bandai. Yep, first time since the mid 80's we see DYRL valkyries with fast packs. I hope they add the skull emblem for the fast packs, the kite emblem on the picture is wrong.
  22. WOW!!! I am amazed. Beautiful customs. I love the anime looking skull emblem on the Hikaru Vf-1S. Jung Chao is truly the master of 1/55 customs.
  23. It is great news that Yamato will finally deliver a perfect Vf-1 in 1/60. I still like the 1/48 but it did not go well with the other 1/60s produced so far. I don't know what to do now. I am pretty sure that Yamato will release all the vf-1 variants in 1/60 and I want to have them all, but I will need to sell part of the 1/48s I have to make that happen
  24. Final pictures, I never thought Gerwalk mode could look this good.
  25. The tape is a high-tech film and it is made in United kingdom. I used this tape before and it really works well. For me it looks better than paint. This is the complete description: You can add it to the custom gallery but let me take more pictures in battloid mode. I run out of day light and only got a chance to take one clean picture.
