  1. Wow all your comments makes me want to get it soon too. BUt i told myself for such an expensive purchase got to wait for most of the versions to be announced before pulling the trigger on one. For the moment, i think the colouring and head of a VF-17D would still look better..... but i'm seriously thinking maybe i want to get this now. After that little fiasco i had with the VF-19S don't want to lose the chance now.
  2. Wow as the pics get more, so does it look even better. I'm really excited about it but the VF-17S head still kind of bugs me. It looks like such a huge noggin. I think i'd like the VF-17D head more.
  3. I'm so glad i saw your post, i was just about to give up. I was actually at MongKok area last night but only went to Inn's Point in Yau Ma Tei and skipped Sino and CTMA since i was there on Monday. I didn't think they would stock the next day since everyone i had asked on monday had no clue. Which store/level in CTMA ha the VF-19S? I'm hoping to get it before i leave HKG on Friday. At least hope to get better pricing than HLJ and save myself on shipping. Thanks
  4. Well so far no go in HKG. Went to Sino Centre and all the other toy shows in MongKok but none of them have any stock and none of them know when they will be getting it. Some even say mid december for Hong Kong even.
  5. Ah ok, so i thought it was Nov24 as well. Darn to think i was going to Mongkok tomorrow to check it out while i have some free time on this business trip. So for those in HKG, can anyone suggest a good place with a decent price to pick this baby up when it comes out? Normally if they say Nov29 in JPN, is it pretty much Nov30 for HKG or even later since i'll be gone by Dec2? Thanks
  6. Thanks for the scans Graham. That looks so much better and i do like the way they compromised on storing the guns. At least it still pops out from the legs. Too bad it isn't out till Dec25. Well at least i can try to snag the VF-19S while i'm here in HKG. Hopefully it'll come out in time and in lots of places at Mongkok so that'll make it easier to track down and price compare.
  7. Well the VF-17 was never an uber dynamic design. It was rather "flat" and bulky. Anyways, with it coming out in Dec25, i'm not going to be able to get it in person when i get into HongKong next week,. Unlike the VF-19S, that's out in November right? when exactly?
  8. Aargh so sad that the prices are so ridiculous. I can';t afford to pay half-a-grand for a Valkyrie. Guess i'm going to have to wait for a re-isssue. Knowing full well that the VF-19S and VF-17S are coming out right now
  9. I recently got a friend to help me look for the YF-29 in HongKong but he's telling me its super rare and costs like USD$300+??? Anyone know if Bandai has intentions to release another batch or if there is a better way to get it?
  10. Actually there was a plan from Bandai before the make the YF-21 in the VF-HiMetal line. But as so many people already pointed it out, the line is basically dead. There hasn't been any news and with Gundam AGE out, i think Bandai is more likely to go milk a cash cow than risk on Macross. 1/100 line is a great idea that's for sure. Makes it more affordable, smaller and hence space is less of an issue and you would think with that scale they can produce variations and those lesser known but still very special Valkyries. I really thought Bandai would go full steam for the VF100s and then the VF-HiMetal so i bought ALL their release for VF100s and the 19c and 19s for the VF-HiMetal. Now i'm totally screwed and all the stuff is still MISB taking up value space in my closets. I've come to the realization that for Macross 1/60 is the scale to go with in order to get as many different Valkyries in scale with each other and secondly Yamato is the most likely company to do it. But unfortunately Yamato stuff aint cheap and even Bandai stuff isn't cheap either. Anyone see the latest secondary prices for the Bandai VF-29? IT was $300+ when i last checked. Now if only i got find some to take all my VF100s off my hands then i can at least try to recoup my money and get more space in my closets ANyone? VF100s?
  11. Luckily i was reading the thread, i had completely forgotten about the VF-17D with the 2 cannons and the much nicer head. I went to look at my old Bandai 1/65 VF-17S and i remember how i disliked the huge noggin of the 17s. Also i think the purple lines look so much better than the yellow lines. I'm completely on the fence now. At first i was 100% into the VF-17S but with the high prices and the possibility that they could easily come up with a VF-17D later down the road........I'm hovering at 50% now. Yes, oil prices around the world is causing the general cost of toys to go up. For example look at Transformers, deluxed sized, they used to be 9.99 and now 11.99. It's just that some retailers can still sell it at the lower prices because they get subsidized by sales of their groceries or other products. Question for those in the know: Will the VF-17S come with the super packs? I know many people already mentioned there at attachment hardpoints for the super packs.
  12. I have a tendency to use my camera phone to take pics of my toys. It's the easiest around and fastest to transfer to PC via bluetooth. Yes, please share since i enjoy looking at other people's collections as my own collection is just too small and even then i don't have enough space to put things out.
  13. Anyone know if the gunpod is going to split into two and mounted in the legs just like in the Macross7 show? I always liked the little cutscene where Gamlin transforms into bot mode and out pops the gun pod, combines the pieces, aims and fires.
  14. Yeah that seems kind of expensive but i do "need" to get a YF-19 or VF-19 eventually since i already have the matching YF-21 and VF-22S. Since these 1/60 are so expensive and large, i need to take one good shot to pick one. What do you guys recommend which Y/V-19F/S/P to go for?
  15. Sorry but that doesn't work for me either after i followed your steps.
  16. Yeah i think the release date is Dec2011, i'm thinking it will slip into March2012. No basis on my comment, just my gut instinct
  17. Other than Amazon Japan, does anyone know of another North American accessible site to purchase the Macross The Ride books?
  18. thanks for that pre-Formula racing analogy. That's why i was wondering why a Vanquish racer would fly a VF-1xx or VF-4 when compared to a VF-19 or VF-25 the VF-1 and VF-4 are obviously inferior and outdated machines. I guess the take the VF-1 and VF-4 airframes and jsut cram in whatever they can to make it comparable in speed to the VF-19 etc?
  19. Hi Fellow Boardies, Ok so i'm ever more confused. I've read through the threads and i haven't figured it out yet. The Macross Frontier The Movie: The Wings of Goodbye (the 2nd MacF movie) that you are speaking of has the 2 Hybrid packs that come with the game, (a game?) So this Macross game, is it a full fledged game for the PS3 or is it half a game or a demo of a game? Also does the game work on North American PS3? I believe the Bly-ray movie itself would since North America and Japan share the same blu-ray region? Thanks
  20. Quick question then, would the YF-19 be a decent buy compared to the VF-19s? Is it that different?
  21. I can't wait. I haven't gotten a VF-19Custom yet (Basara's) But this is definitely on my list on a slightly higher priority. I've always liked the VF-17s although it just wasn't as sleek as the other Valkyries.
  22. ok so the chance of a subtitled release for the second movie is next to none despite the fact that the Blu-Ray disc is in the same region as North America? Aargh, i'd like to watch it but don't want to buy the entire thing only to not understand a word of it.
  23. Sorry not sure which thread to post but i'm hoping someone reading this thread will know. Is the VF Hi-Metal line dead? Whatever happened to the YF-21 they were going to do in this line?
  24. Too bad that Iwase JPN bookstore in my area closed down. I would really love to get that book but super leary of ordering it online. Still i wish they would come up with toys. Models are great too but too much work. =) no time to build models anymore. Macross for sure has the least amount of toys available all things considered.
