  1. Yup i get the feeling it depends on your production run. I got both mine from the 2nd production run. So far i've found them both to be good and the joints are not too tight. Of course I wouldn't want to drop them, the way the hip/leg connector steel joints are, they seem to be really flimsy and a few shakes could break it. The VF-25F really does need some panel lining but I'm not sure I want to put my $10 skills on a $200 toy. As for the next DX, it would seem the chart is saying the VF-25S Armoured is the next one. I can't wait but that's going to make me so broke. As it is, I'm already basically buying every Frontier DX. I'm really nto sure if gettign a whole new 25S package deal is better than just the armour. By having the package deal, it'll allow you to display 2 VF-25S in two different modes.
  2. I'm certainly looking forward to see this. =) I wonder how it will turn out. So in the pic we see "Sheryl" and "Ranka'. I wonder if the male actors will protray Alto and the others or just some joe blow. Hmm pardon the pun. =) As for Saotome Rui who plays Ranka, she's definitely a pretty and cute girl. She's got that certain innocent look on her. As for Rio Hamasaki (Sheryl) I'll pass.
  3. Got a friend in JPN right now. I read online that the 1/100 VF-25F comes out on Feb28. I hope it comes out earlier. my friend is leaving on the 28th!! I'm very excited about this series but worried of the variety. I really do want to see all sorts not just the main ones.
  4. What's the reported scale on the Macross Quarter? It could be cool but personally i'd rather have more valks.
  5. Well i opened up my VF-25S finally and indeed the neck thing is a bit disapppointing. It takes some effort to get it to look right. Even my wife commented asking why it looked like a turtle. =) As for the next Valkyrie, i'd prefer to see the VF-171 first. It's far more interesting and different to the VF-25. There can be 5 variants for the VF-171. The green normal one, green 171 recon, the brown 171EX, the 171EX recon, 171EX cmdr. Then if Bandai wanted they can get back into M7 and slight remold to make it the VF-17. Which i hope can lead to the VF-19 and the VF-22. Now that would be cool. VF-22 with Bandai durability.
  6. All i have to say is that the 1/72 all look so good. I had finished my VF-25S and even with my limited modeling skills it still looks great. However the amount of work i put into it makes me not want to invest in the other 1/72s. Maybe I'll just stick with the 1/100s. Ahh decisions decisions decisions. =)
  7. Seems like you've seen some of her releases. how about Rui Saotome release. I haven't been able to find pictures of her or photobooks she may have done.
  8. Well i ordered my VF-25S from HLJ the night before. By some miracle i so happened to be looking at my friend's computer and he had HLJ up. It was all discontinued the last time i checked. Not sure how HLJ managed to get more VF-25S but at least I can now get mine. Just waiting for them to ship it to me. I also pre-ordered the 25G and RVF-25 on HLJ but not sure if the initla pre-order allotment is closed and I'm just pre-ordering for nothing now. Now i just need to find an Alto version. Would probably go better wth my already built 1/72 25S.
  9. I couldn't wait so i pre-ordered the 1/100 VF-25F on Hobby Link Japan. Feb release some time. Including the shipping the price is a tad bit high but I'm sure it will be worth it. Good to get their first one to see how it is before ibuy the rest. Although like you guys i hope the VF-4 and other Valks get released before more VF-1s and VF-25 variants. We need variety, 1-2 a month is good for me. As for the likeness, I think it is save to say 1/72 model will be the most anime accurate period for all 3 modes. That's what i noticed with my VF-25S. But man you've got to do a lot of work to get it looking good and durability is another matter.
  10. Woah! That picture is awesome. They both look so pretty! Rui Saotome as Ranka especially. So where can we order this cosplay DVD?
  11. It seems like it is totally sold out everywhere. HLJ, Overdrive, Hobby search, angolz are all out. So far it seems that bigbadtoystore.com still has a pre-order available but not sure if and when they will get anything. I missed the boat on ordering from HLJ so now i'm in the "when can i buy one" camp.
  12. Ultra Action Toys and Soul of Anime are the same owners. So if you order at either place that'll work. Only info i have received is that they were supposed to get a shipment in soon but it wasn't in this latest shipment.
  13. So I read elsewhere that Saotome Rui in that Ranka outfit is going to parody Ranka in one of her porn films. That company is filming is famous for such parody shows. Also read that the DVD is supposedly coming out in March2009. http://www.at-mania.com/al/%C1%E1%B2%B5%BD...EB%A5%A4/1.html (NSFW!) Any other available pictures besides the already provided link?
  14. Just to give some info for Vancouver, Canada. Not availability at the local toy shops yet. Supposed to be in this upcoming shipment maybe.
  15. Hmm that looks a bit odd. The VF-21 looks so much bigger than the VF-25? Is it how it really is "realistically"? Is the VF-21 that much of a bigger plane?
  16. Is that even the same girl? Looks kind of different somehow.
  17. Hey MAster Dex, Like yourself, I'm not the best modeler in the world. I don't paint and don't have time for what the experts can do on this board. They are amazing. But if you just want it to look fairly good, all you really need is a *thin* black gundam marker. I've had ample experience on Gundam HG/MG kits. All you need to do is to fill in the panel lines or little lines. The gundam markers are good that if you make a mistake, just wipe it off with your thumb/fingers right away. Yes sometimes the panel lines come out too huge and exagerrated but it still looks better than if you didnt. I'm currently working on the VF-25S and so far it is coming out ok. Other thing i have found is to panel line at the same time as you build. So at each step (each picture in the manual), cut the parts off the sprue, cut off the excess and then panel line first and then snap it together. It will slow down the build but it sure beats building and taking it apart again. Now again, this is what has worked for me for ages (as a semi-novie modeler). Results may vary. =) Cheers
  18. The VF-25 in 1/100 looks good to me. In those sample pictures the VF-25F looks a tad bit too white, but nothing a gundam marker won't fix. I think i'll just fill in teh panel lines and it'll look awesome. I echo several people's point of view. NO VF-1 please!!! Bring on the other valkyries, the obscure ones especially.
  19. Nope you're definitely not the only one. Those pictures make it look good in multiple angles. I never doubted Bandai once. I knew either way they would make something I'd want. Can't wait to have these in my hands. Only hate the fact that I can't get the fast packs or armoured pack right now (tamashii i consider impossible), so later on, may be forced to buy another VF-25S and VF-25F again.
  20. Pardon my extreme ignorance but where is the SHARE on the forum?
  21. Wow that is quite pricey, or it will be once it hits North American shores. That's almost like half or more of the price of the 1/60 VF25F itself. I get the feeling though that later down the road Bandai will definitely release a combined VF25+super pack version. I mean it's bound to be a money maker and easy for them to engineer. i.e. basically no addition work needed except for the packaging. I think I'll try to wait patiently.
  22. Hi guys, I'm excited to get my VF-25s but wanted to ask for some expert advice. Should I fill in the panel lines (using a gundam marker) before I start assembling the pieces or after I've assembled that component or after final assembly? Secondly, how about the stickers? I assume in some places it may be wise to put the stickers in before assembly? does the instructions tell you to do so? I know in the Gundam models, sometimes for stickers in hard to reach places, they show you to put it on before the component is assembled. Thanks
  23. I read it was mid November so next week sounds about right. But i pre-ordered on HLJ so I don't get left out this time.
