  1. Yeah it's been really quiet. All we have next in the VF100s line is the VF-19 custom.
  2. Looks better and better. Can't wait till my arrives.
  3. Yay!!! Point#2 above was one of my negatives when i did my VF-25F review. I'm glad they fixed it. SHouldb e much better now and easier to click into place.
  4. Hey Tack, What's that amazing base you are using to hold your VF? I would certainly like those so i can use it to display my 25S and 25F
  5. All this talk of the loose crotch joint on the VF-25G has me worried. I've only got mine suspended on the base so it's been fine all this time. I'm worried that if i start toying around with it, it'll kill it for sure.
  6. Well Macross diffferentiates by having the primary unit type and then variations of that a la VF-25 variations. It makes more sense in real-life anyways. Single one-off hero units are not that cost effective. So that's why Gundam doesn't make sense. Only time it ever made sense was Gundam Seed with the Strike and GAT-X variations. Similar frames and jsut variations on capability just like the VF-25. Although other than cosmetic, what differences are there between the VF-25S and VF-25F and VF-25G? Well the G had the sniper rifle but does it ever say it has upgraded sensory equipment (to aid in those long range shots)? Same question for the S and F versions.
  7. Well so long as the story is good and there are more toys and variations (not only in colour) i'm all for it. Of course I'd much rather see a long standing Macross TV series a la Gundam.
  8. I just looked at the detailed pictures with the zoomer available on Yamato's website. In Battroid mode you can clearly see the pilot in his cockpit but sad to say he's facing downwards. Is that what is "supposed" to happen on the show or the actual Valk? I always thought they rotated in the cockpit so that they were facing forwards.
  9. Pardon my ignorance fellas but what is M&M? I keep seeing M&M mentioned in the past few threads. It isn't MAcross 7 or Macross 7 Dynamite is it? I'm happy that Yamato may be able to product Macross7 Valks but i'd much rather Bandai make them instead. Yamato Valks are nice and all but I just worry every time i lift them up to toy around and transform. Once i get it into one mode i usually just leave it alone because it takes too much careful effort to transform them. However for Bandai VF-25 valks, i've transformed them multiple times and toyed around with them with no worries. Still in my book, whoever produces the obscure Valks like the VF-4 and VA-3 first are going to get my money.
  10. Does anyone know when is the next series going to be out? Right now I have the problem of where to put them all. At this scale they're rather numerous and some of them don't sit/stand on the provided stand very well. My YF-21 in fighter mode has a problem sticking to the stand.
  11. Well i can say the box definitely looks pretty cool. It looks even better than the VF-25F box. Can't wait to get mine in the mail. Pity I'm not in HKG so i can bargain and get a much cheaper one. at HKD$300 that's a good deal. Unfortunately for me ordering from HLJ and shipping across the Pacific just aint cheap. Oh well. Still waiting for news of more obscure VF100s.
  12. Hmm sounds like there are more ppl seeing problems. I've opened up my VF-25G and so far so good although i haven't toyed around it that much. Haven't opened uo my RVF-25 yet but looks like i'd better open it soon to check for problems.
  13. Sorata, can you provide me with a link for the Macross Cosplay video too please? Is it available on Rapidshare? Has anyone reviewed the video yet?
  14. Good job on promoting Macross World. Hopefully they'll view the website and can take some of our comments into account.
  15. That is very impressive. I always thought HLJ was done out of someone's garage or something like that. But it looks totally professional. I can understand their higher prices now. Still i aint complaining, they usually got the stuff I want but i concurr with others on this board, once you factor in shipping and customs etc etc, the price does get steep.
  16. Thanks for that info. Looks like HLJ put it under the Action Figures category instead of the Toy category and hence I could not find it. Ok time to place my order. Hahahaha=)
  17. Well i've been toying around with my VF-25G and so far it is great. All the parts fit fine as expected. I have noticed that the intake armour is a bit loose and indeed the intake armour totally prevents hip articulation. So therefore I've just had to resort to putting my 25G on the stand in battroid with straight legs and a less dynamic pose. There is one additional issue i have noticed. When posed in battroid with the sniper rifle in one hand and the left hand supporting it, has anyone noticed that the arms start to sag a bit and before long the sniper rifle is aiming down instead of straight? Any ideas on how to fix that? Thanks
  18. Found the VF100 VF-25F and armoured VF-25F on HLJ's website but i could not find the order page for the 1/100 VF-25S and VF-25G. Does anyone know where it is on HLJ or perhaps HLJ are not carrying those two? I certainly hope they carry it. As far as I know, they're my oly source for Macross stuff.
  19. Ok so what in the world is the Fan Liner. And is it just me or doest eh VF-3000 Crusader look almost identical to the VF-1? I seem to recall that the VF-3000 is supposed to look different. Still i have the other two sets so i'll likely get this set too. Although if Bandai hurries with their VF100s line and captures these obscure Valks too, I may swtich gears.
  20. Hi Fellow MWers, With all the relatively negative reviews of the VF100s 1/100 VF-25F i figured I'll provide my more positive review of the 25F. =) I will not be providing pictures since everyone should have seen it by now. So let's get started: The packaging for the VF-25F is really nice, window box with the flip cover. It doesn't get any better than this. You can clearly see the VF-25F in battroid mode and all the details are visible. Once you open the package though, you may get a big shock. There are 3 trays worth of parts and at first glance it looks way too intimidating. I was only thinking at that moment "nutty, for once I'm going to have to keep the trays and the box or else i'm going to be losing stuff" Parts aside, once you get the VF-25F into your hands, in one word: "WOW!" Yes it is not as big as the DX or the 1/72 but it has a certain good feel to it. At first it does feel a bit light and feels rather fragile but after toying around with it for a bit and repeated transformations it's actually very sturdy. In battroid mode, the details and articulation are very nice indeed. I was able to strike some really crazy poses. The extra hands will allow for holding the gunpod (which you get 2) and the combat knife. Again details look good and the mode does not look unbalanced and if i have to say, it looks like in the anime. I really do not notice too much inaccuracy, but then again maybe i'm easy to please. To convert to gerwalk mode, you have to take out a bunch of parts and replace with other parts. At first this was daunting but i soon realized that the parts being swapped made perfect sense and to convert from battroid to gerwalk/fighter the parts needed are 90% the same.(you'll neeed a new nosecone, hip/fuselage, shoulder joints and that's about it) Specific to gerwalk mode are the "knee" joints which allow for the legs to bend forward (connects the air-intakes to the rest of the leg). I do have a bit of gripe here in that the "knee" connectors provided don't merge properly. Either the pegs are a bit too large for the holes or vice versa. (air-intakes to knee connectors to rest of leg). Here because of the loose knee connectors, poses were a bit more difficult to acheive. However I was able to strike 2 key poses. a) where the VF-25F is bending forward to appear the pilot is getting in and out. b) the scene were Alto first hops in and randomly blasts away. Both poses were stable and looked awesome but once i lifted him up to take flight, one of the legs fell off. =( Attach it back again and don't swing it around too much. To convert to fighter from gerwalk, not much needs to be done. Just remove the arms, swap in the new shoulder joints, remove the knee connectors and you're good to go. Everything else stays in place. For fighter mode the accuracy is very good. I compared it to the 1/72 model kit i have. While i think everyone mostly agrees that the 1/72 model is the closest to the liner art, I think the 1/100 comes a close second. In terms of accuracy it does look better than the 1/60 DX. In fighter, you can mount the closed gunpod and swap out the landing gear covers for the landing gears. I can completely live with the detachable landing gears since I expect that for something this small. Switching it back to battroid mode took me less than 3min the next time around. As i said, once you do it once or twice all the swaps become obvious. Now on to the known ISSUES: All the parts are sturdy and repeated pullings and insertions seem to be ok. Of course I'm sure after the Nth transformation things are bound to get loose. The minor issue I've discovered so far is "loose" knee connectors for gerwalk mode. However there is one MAJOR issue which is the mounting of the shield on the forearm in battroid mode. Again it seems the hole for mounting or the peg for mounting is too small/big. It is damn near impossible to mount the shield on the arm without doing some serious damage. Basically the problem is that the peg on the shield is at the hollow point of the shield (i.e. where the hands insert into in fighter mode) So therefore when you put any force onto the shield to mount to the arm, you're basically forcing the lower section of the shield to deform and bend as the peg simply won't go into the hole on the arm. So now i'm stuck with a slightly bent lower shield section. In this case I've basically given up mounting the shield to the arm. (let me see if i can get a pic for that) If anyone knows how to bend the plastic back, let me know. Last thoughts: If anyone has read my review till this portion, THANKS. My general impression is that i like the VF100s VF-25F. While it does have some shortfalls it does a very good compromise between the 1/60 DX and the 1/72 model kit. In one sentence i'd say it has the look of the 1/72 kit and the "most" of the sturdiness of the DX. When i transform it around and play with it, it feels solid in my hands. Right now it is in fighter mode and it looks damn good beside my other Valks. While the price is a bit steep (especially air-freight from HLJ) I think I'll continue to collect this line. The lure of having many Valkyries in scale and other obscure valkyries is too good to pass up. Overall I'll probably get the others and put them in various poses (like models but saving the build time). Next I've just got to assemble that Gundam 1/144 stand and see if the VF-25F will fit. =) So if the prices have dropped now is a good time to pick it up. Support this line and maybe Bandai will improve over the course of the next few releases.
  21. Hmm this does not bode well for the VF100s line at all. Does anyone have any info on how the fans in Japan are taking it?
  22. Woo-hoo the VF-25G looks awesome, especially in battroid mode. However in gerwalk mode, holding the sniper rifle just looks wrong somehow, like it is way too long for a single arm to hold. Hmm i'm trying to recall if Michel was in gerwalk mode much. Usually he just flew out and then found a place, transformed to battroid and camped out to snipe. Can't wait for the RVF-25 to come out too, then my order from HLJ will ship. Nice pictures too everyone! To anyone who is still deciding. Order it now before the prices skyrocket or the stock is sold out. I missed the original order for the VF-25F and i ended up not being able to get it for a decent price.
  23. Hmm my 1/100 VF-25F is in transit from HLJ. I'm kind of worried based on all the reviews here. (Great reviews everyone by the way!) I'll probably add in my two cents once i get it. Yeah a main draw for the VF100s line is the breadth of the Valkyrie line they can have. However I have a question, what macross licenses can Bandai use for their Valkyries? All MAcross series or just some? i.e. I know Yamato was holding the license for Macross Plus correct? Many of the obscure valks we want to see are from the video games, manga and other non-cartoon/tv sources. If there is no hope of seeing the obscure Valks in other lines then i'm goign to throw my full support behind the VF100s.
  24. Hmm having the armoured parts not being able to attach to my 1.5release of VF-25F or S kind of sucks. I was hoping to canabilize the armoured parts from the VF-25S Armoured bundle to put on the 25F. Oh well, there goes that idea. Looking at the posts, I'm reasonably sure the extra holes are indeed for the armoured pack. As for Bandai's foresight. I recall that BigWest owns the rights to Macross and hence Bandai needs to pay some high licensing fees. Therefore any investiment into Macross for them is a comparatively large investment when compared to Gundam (which they own the rights). So therefore when they were faced with an uncertain market for Macross, they did the best they could in providing product. Now that it has been proven to be a hit, they can feel free to invest more in. I also hope the popularity in Macross is back because I really do want to see a continuing show and continuing toys a la Gundam. I've got tons of Yammies already but sadly they are all remaining in their boxes simply because their durabiity isn't the greatest. However I've rough-housed my VF-25S and F and they are still good to go.
  25. Personally I am ok with there being no pilot, then i can imagine myself being in the pilot seat. Hahaha. HLJ hasn't provided me a shipping notice either. We'll know how good this product is by the street prices in HongKong for example. Graham, when you walk around HK, can you take a gander to see how much mark-up it starts to have and how quickly it gets sold out. I remember the VF-25F model kit disappeared almost instantly as with the 1/60 DX. As for the entire line itself. I wish they'd stay away from the VF-1. That's what the Toynami line was for. I have most of the Toynami 1/100 VF-1s already and i don't want to repeat. They should concentrate on teh VF-4 and other even more obscure Valkyries. So far it seems the VF-4 is the only truly obsure one (which has never got a toy or model kit). I want to see the VF-5000 and VA-3 even.
