  1. Wow those pics look good to me. However the price does seem a bit steep. But compared to the 1/60 DX version, that's 60% price difference, i guess that is acceptable. I can accept those parts forming pieces, it doesn't look too bad although there are many many pieces.
  2. Oh please no more VF-1s. I have had enough of those. I have them in all their different versions, yammies, takas, bandais, toynamis, all their different scales, the different variations. Enough is enough toy companies! Please! =) Bring on the VF-4 and all the other obscure valkyries. Hmm I think that's like the 3rd time I've said that. Hmm better reduce my whining. =)
  3. It all depends on where you live. Check your local specialty toy/hobby store. Prices are usually fairly reasonable. Order online from Hobby Link Japan or Hobby Search or some other Japanese toy online retailer. Ebay is always an option. Best to shop around. I will tell you that the demand for the DX 1/60 VF25 is likely to be very high as the 1/72 VF25 model was sold out fairly quickly and the mark up went up quite fast.
  4. I think a model product with just the fastpacks is unlikely. Just look at the HG Gundam00 GN Arms. The Gundam Exia was sold on its own and then later there was the GN Arms which came with the HG Gundam Exia. Same thing happened for the GN Arms Dynames version. It makese sense for Bandai since they can sell the same model twice basically and we'll pay. It also also possible that when they add the Fast Packs, some minor changes may need to be made to accomodate it, so the VF25 itself may be a version 1.5 or v2. I think I'll grab the VF25s first (since the VF25 is complete sold out) and then later get Alt's VF25 when it comes out with the fast packs. Any release date for the VF25 alto version with FS?
  5. Talk about a long thread with both sides providing their points. I would say it is not 100% accurate. 75-80% maybe. So it all depends on your percentage of accuracy tolerance. I for one will get it, it aint 100% accurate but at least I don't have to worry about it falling apart on me when i transform it around a few dozen times. But one thing is for sure, that nose landing gear is WAY too short. but i'll probably put this on a stand anyways. Folks, is this completely sold out for pre-order yet or what's the deal? I missed my chance to pre-order the 1/72 model kit and now i have to wait for the next re-stock which i'm not sure when.
  6. I've been to Japan a few times but I've never found that machine. I need to take a picture of it so people will believe me when i tell them it exists.
  7. Oh yeah! I'll definitely like those buns. Heehee =)
  8. The picture of the 3 pilots in their tuxs look awesome. Looks like they are attending someone's wedding. But whose? Must be some time during the series as Michael is shown still alive unless he isn't really dead. BUt i doubt it. As much as I want Michael to be alive..... Maybe this will appear in the movie version, just a side note story.
  9. Ugh with the initial VF25 prices so marked up now that the kit is in such high demand and seeing all the upcoming releases. I wonder if it'll be better to hold off on them all until they are all released and pick the best from the bunch.
  10. Well so long as I get my lesser known Valkyries and in-scale with as many Valkyries as possible I'll be a happy camper.
  11. Well at least the jacket looks normal enough that you could wear it out daily if you choose to.
  12. that looks awesome. Now if only i had the time and skill to do that.
  13. Yes, please bring on the obscure Valkyries. I've been waiting for those other one for ages. Not more VF-1 please. Actually does anyone know what license Bandai has for VF100s, do they have the license for Macross+ and others?
  14. So the street date has been delayed? If it is december then there is a good chance it'll slip even further to January. I saw that with several Bandai toys before. Still the DX toy looks pretty good. It isn't perfect but at least I hope it is durable. I've got a Yammie SV-51 and everytime i touch it, i'm always scared something is going to break. Ahh I long for the days of M7 Valks where i know even if I drop it, it aint goign to fall apart.
  15. That does look like a lot of parts to keep track of. But hey for all we know once we actually see it, it won't be so bad. besides, nothing like a ziploc bag won't fix. should be relatively easy to hold all the parts. I just hope the line is successful then we can see some obscure Valkyries. I'm looking forward to the VA-3
  16. The kit looks awesome. Now i have to go to HLJ to order it. I had missed the 5% off preorder window so i figured I'd wait. Looked at the instructions too and I must say, it does look more complicated than the Gundam models. It looks like while you're building, there are more sections you need to hold mid-transformation to insert parts etc etc.
  17. Yeah i was hoping for more of a gundam-type colour parts molding. i.e. the HG Strike Noir had the appropriate coloured parts and with a detailing pen Voila! it looked awesome.
  18. So here's my question for the 1/72 model. I certainly hope it will come with more coloured molded parts. From the pictures there it looks like it is all made of cheap white plastic which is very very generic and doesn't show much detail. For a non-painting model kit builder myself, jsut having too much white like that means it won't look as great even after I use the detailing pen. Hope it comes with more coloured parts.
  19. If not the general rule is, if you're going to post a picture of a toy/model in the appropriate thread, make sure the picture you post has some reference to the scale. In most pictures I've seen (especially scanned from a magazine) show the scale. Just by going on that ppl should know whether it is a model or a toy. On a better point, does Bandai even have the license to produce other Valkyries? i.e. not in the cartoons? if they can do it, I'd love for their 1/100 toy line to encompass ALL valkyries. I'd want to see a VA-3 VF-5000 and all the other lesser known Valkyries.
  20. Yeah I'm kind of surprised there hasn't been too much news about it. September is just round the corner. usually toy companies would have box art up by now.
  21. So I've read all 20+ apges of this thread since I stopped reading. Talk about going off topic. but before i do. the question is Is there or not going to be a 1/100 toy line for Macross Frontier? I know there is the 1/72 model kit line with transformation 1/60 perfect transformation DX w/ diecast line
  22. So silly question which i've read over and over again.... how did the term "pineapple salad?" come from?I know what it means but.... anyone give me a hand? thanks
  23. Just a question for those people who have ordered from HLJ. How's their shipping service to Vancouver, Canada? Anybody know? I'm tempted to get a set but not sure about ordering it from so far away. Thanks.
  24. Woah! I've never seen that before. IT looks awesome. Yeah I second that, where can I get it?? It does look a bit like it was a VF-19 conversion though. Maybe a VF-19 customization?
  25. all this talk of the kits sure has be excited. Wonder if I should get the kit instead of the DX 1/60 toy now! With kits being cheaper to produce it is more likely they will have more variants than the 1/60 toy. So err, when are these due? I can't wait. Need to adjust my budget.
