  1. ...just to clarify so my response wasn't confusing. The kit price by itself will indeed be $135 + whatever shipping will be from the U.S. (shipping to be determined) I will have a tier set up just like captain america did for discount shipping for multiple kits. So that does indeed mean $135 US dollar, without shipping and once i have the price tier set up for shipping cost that will be additional. Hence the + shipping.
  2. Ok guys.... here are some progress picks of the first reissue of the kit. stickers still need to be made, clear parts casted up and a full run needs to be finished. so there's still time to order, these will not be mass produced and once they are gone.....its going to be along time before these get reissued, if ever.
  3. Most likely to be $135 + shipping ....it will be shipped from the U.S.
  4. Hello, Just gauging interest here on the possibility of a limited run of 1/72 Destoroido Tomahawk, these will be casted using the original master sculpts created by Captain America here on the boards. Price Approx $130ish a kit (cost of materials and so forth has gone up since first release , making every effort not to make it skyrocket). What will be strongly considered to stay within cost is to not have a stylish box...simply the kit, decals and a online post for the instructions available for everyone. Those interested please post here in the thread. PRICE PER KIT: $135 in the U.S. Priority Mail 2-3 Day Shipping $15 International (France, Germany, Chile, HK, and Australia) $30 ....Shipping will include insurance. Payment: If you bank with Chase and are on the straight shooters list... I will accept personal checks from this bank or money orders (us postal money orders or moneygram). Moneygram money orders are available at Walmart and alot of grocery outlets. Paypal accepted with a $5 fee per kit,....an unfortunate evil to add the fee but I didn't want to exclude this option. Another paypal option to avoid the fee is to send it as a personal payment, this works if you have enough money in your paypal account already or get it transferred from your checking account. If you have questions please pm me and we'll work something out. PAYMENT INFO TO COME ....I"ll post once everything is definite. Just wanted to thank you guys for the support and i'm very pleased that fellow MWer's will be the first to get the reissues. Would love to see the build ups. Payment: Okay guys, since the kits are now all ready and casted....I'll start collecting money and once that is done get the kits and send them out, most likely I will have to send decals out separately (i'll cover the costs for shipping the decals). So if that's fine with you, please do the following: Paypal: dan74m@iwon.com By mail: please pm me, this will also help me keep track Thanks!! As of now 10-11-09, the kits are casted and am only waiting for the decals to be made and sent out. Orders for the Destoroido Tomahawk will be officially closed on Saturday 10-17-09. Interested: ahiachris x1 Paid Thor x1 Paid neko fr x1 Paid aquilon x1 Paid spitfire br x1 Paid neptunesurvey x1 Pending hodiod01 x1 Paid evil bones x1 Paid baxojayz x1 Paid
  5. ugh...got in a car accident and my poor truck got sandwiched pretty good, im still waiting to hear if its totaled or not. Bright side is i'm okay and i'll just have to make sure I can spare the funds to go all the way to San Jose since I"m in between S.F. and Sac .
  6. I liked the concept of the movie, but honestly wouldn't give it a 8 or 9. Dont get me wrong, I liked the open concepts/theories, weaponry and mech, but the first half of the movie with its documentary style was putting me to sleep and a bit too scattered for my taste and the main character was ANNOYING as hell. I was very curious though about several things..... Alien weaponry didn't seem widespread and was curious if it was brought down from the ship or did they build it from cast off human junk? From what I remember the alien weaponry was fairly uniform, so I'm guessing the aliens were allowed to have some of their items when they were evacuated. Was also curious if the mech was built out of junk as well, cause I find it hard to believe the mothership would be able to control it if it wasn't part of its original alien technology.
  7. If its set up someplace between S.F. and Sacramento I'll be able to make it..... keep us posted of where and when cause I would like to cruise out and meet other MW members.
  8. Wow, really cool build . Great job with the paint and I'm glad you did a write up. Keep up the good work!
  9. I'm glad there's going to be some macross II stuff coming out even if its only 1/100 scale. I thought most of the Macross II mecha were natural progressions of the original designs. While the vf2ss is my favorite valk of the series, it took a while for the metal siren to appeal to me. It looks like a vf-1 valk + gundam .....pay attention to the wing position of battroid for my next comment, but the macross frontier valks look similiar to the metal siren's battroid with a few concept changes......vf-1 valk + evangelion + some zentraedi tidbits for bulk and intimidation. Not hating on it, but it just reminds me of it.
  10. thanks guys,.....i'm going to do my best as far as raising some money for the exclusives. @jenius.... thanks for the generous offer, but I wouldn't want to slow down or hamper your first experience at comic con. i'm not sure if you'll also be going to preview night, but usually everyone scopes out where to line up for the exclusives during that time then the next morning line up outside 2 hours before the con opens just to get into the convention to grab their badges,.... only to wait in another line before you get into the convention whether your heading to line up for an exlcusive toy or a guest speaker or panel on a favorite show or movie. if you have the chance and could get one, that would be great....but don't go out of your way and miss out on a great experience.
  11. Hey guys, Was hoping to try and get 2 HALO exclusive action figures from Comic Con at a reasonable price, a third would be nice for myself as the first two are not for me. I can offer cash, trade + cash (I have a sell thread the for sale section here on the boards) or all out trade. Each figure will cost $15, here is the link: HALO Exclusive Figure I know I can wait for the regular run on figures, but these are for 2 kids I work with in a Cancer Care program I volunteer at....the figures are painted in their favorite colors. Their first exposure to HALO was me bringing my xbox 360 and 26" TV over for a video game weekend I had promised. Several other volunteers, workers, and parents each adopted a kid for an upcoming event to get them a toy. The 2 little guys that I am working with would like these figures, so I am hoping to get some help in making this happen. They do not have much and with the recent cut in hours at my work.... I didn't have enough to go to the con myself or order them from a different source. I figure if I'm going to pay extra I would rather that money go to someone here on the boards so at least the money stays within the family so to speak. If there is anyone going to the con that wouldn't mind acquiring 2-3 of these for me, it would be very much appreciated. I'm on the straight shooter's list and there are two recent recommendations listed in my thread in the For Sale Section here on the boards. Thanks MODS: Figured my best chance was to try and get someone that was going to the con to help me accomplish this, but if a more appropriate forum is in the Wanted section please feel free to do so. I didn't think it would get enough traffic so I started the thread here, hope its not a problem.
  12. about a year or two ago someone else here on the boards bought their airbrush from a online beauty supply shop for about $25-$30 cheaper than any art supply store cause they get more volume when it comes to selling airbrushes. so you might want to check that route when comparing prices. good luck!
  13. Got a few left over paint cans from ALSA corp that a friend gave me after using it on the wheels for his car. Its suppose to be the best chrome paint on the market short of actual chrome itself. He ordered something more like a pewter finish .... theres wasn't alot so I used it on a Halo 3 Spartan figure. The toy now looks like skynet made it!!! I wasn't sure to leave it as is or add some color here and there --which was my first intention, but I don't want to screw up since the paint is really expensive. Does anyone know of a free photoshop style program that I could use to edit the picture with a few different paint schemes?
  14. Hi guys, Was wondering if there was a good free program to help me out with adding a color scheme to a custom I'm working on. The base coat of the figure is a very expensive paint and I was hoping to add some color to a few areas, but didn't want to do it on the actual figure. Even something basic to help me visualize what would look nice in addition to the base coat would be great. Figured if anyone knew it would be someone that frequents this thread, thanks! Here's a link to the Halo 3 custom spartan in its current state: http://s144.photobucket.com/albums/r191/da...artan%20Custom/
  15. was hoping this thread could be of some use again
  16. was wondering if anyone here figured out what parts were used to make this... i was going through my kits and found my old Bandai variable kit and a Hasegawa Fighter kit that is missing the clear cockpit canopy. do you think i would have enough parts to replicate this as a 1J ? thanks
  17. there are some resin kits on starshipmodeler: http://www.starshipmodeler.biz/index.cfm?f...;category_id=56 most out of stock, but at least somebody put some of it out there.
  18. Yeah, I know longshot... but i'm still looking and checking, thanks guys Bump
  19. Hi guys, Got several boxes of items stolen out of my parents storage unit. Among the more valuable items were a 1/48 Stealth Fastpack Set, 80's G.I. Joe base in box, and some of my dad's classic books some rare editions of Steinbeck, Mark Twain and a few others. While the insurance will cover most of it, I'm hoping the thieves will be greedy enough to try and sell on ebay or someplace easy to spot as there are several characteristics of the items which will indicate they are mine or my dad's. If by sheer luck you spot something like these items being sold by the same seller please let me know. On the G.I. Joe base's box (yeah the very first one with the cannon in the middle and vehicle bay on either side) the flag points were cut out in a specific shape. Any help would be great, thanks!
  20. wow, nice job .... looks like more than a Hasegawa wing swap out .... chestplate, cockpit, and tail section too?
  21. For the most part, I've always liked macross II .... honestly don't understand the fascination with Macross Zero's or Macross 7's storyline. In Macross Zero I could believe it until the weird alien technology/religion concept was tied in WTF!!! in macross 7 Basara singing every other frame and mechs with faces...i was left half expecting ultra man (dont know the authentic name for him) to show up as a new style destroid preaching peace by sharing girlscout cookies with the protodevlin to solve the problem. In mac II it looks like the survivors made use of whatever materials were left behind for both defense, rebuilding civilization, and colonization. It reminded me of how the United States configured itself after WWI and leading up to the pending moments of the Bombing on Pearl Harbor. A isolationist mentality, outdated military equipment, propaganda to lull the public into a false state of the military being prepared to handle anything. It was also common back then to parade your navy fleet as a show of power and military preparedness. In this case it seems macross II had several fleets on constant patrol in the Mac II solar system .... sort of how the pacific fleet was crowded around pearl harbor. I was always under the impression the macII story line mimicked these events rather than just a pure rehash of DYRL . .... just my 2 cents.
  22. Thanks MT, adds to the few books I do not have. Was wondering if anyone out there new how much larger the metal siren was in comparison to the VF2SS? Palladium has always gotten the dimensions wrong in their section of the profiles in the books....figured the answer was out there in some japanese book/magazine published way back when.
  23. Was just wondering with all the different valks if anyone has done a comparative size chart of all the valks in various modes. I know I saw one here of the various valks, but it was all in fighter mode. Was curious if Battroid and Gerwalk was done as well, though I'd be specifically looking for Battroid. Also out of curiousity, was wondering how much bigger was the Metal Siren from macross II in comparison to the VF 2SS? I have the 1/72 VF 2SS recast and its basically the same size as the 1/72 Hasegawa VF-1 but I cant seem to find much information or lineart outside of the artwork in the Palladium Macross II Sourcebook. Thanks for any help guys.... Dax415
  24. thanks for pointing me in the right direction.... i found the cable i'll need to run it to my cheapie surround sound RCA speakers!!! wasn't sure if anyone else would be looking but this is what i found and only $7 !!! http://www.monoprice.com/products/product....=1&format=2 If I wanted a high quality picture as well, i'm assuming this would be another solution? http://www.monoprice.com/products/product....at=1#largeimage
  25. thanks guys! the monitor i have does have built in speakers.....there's a little plug that is the same as as headphone jack. To get the best quality picture i use a DVI connection to the computer and the headphone jack for the sound. didn't know VGA was available for the xbox 360,..... oh and i do have a cheapie surround sound system from walmart not sure whether the connections would work but i'll dig up the instructions and check.
