That heat shield better be integrated!

If Iit isn't ガンダム then it's just Bandai throwing scraps.

I want my purple YF-21!

I'll get to the Cavaliers after I finish Hikaru's 1A and Max's 29.... I'll hold onto the second 0S for now, on the off chance that there's a reactive armor set. Though that may just come as a complete bundle... Hmmm -
I was hoping Bandai had moved past 1980s packaging with the plastic trays on the 1/48 and 29 reissue, but then they went back to the accursed styrofoam trays. Perhaps the styrofoam cartel is far more powerful than anyone anticipated. Thomas Midgely is smiling from the beyond.

Gundam don't have jet intakes or landing gear, so the average Bandai designer is perplexed by such strange things, like a caveman who fell into a crevasse and was found thousands of years later, thawed out, and forced to live in our modern world.

That looks like a customized Hasegawa TV SDF-1. Note the incorrect forward section which the Hasegawa kit reused because they couldn't bother creating a totally new mold for the TV version kit. Though I can't remember if Hasegawa released a cruiser mode kit or not.

So despite all the griping, whose here will actually decline to get one because of Bandai's design choices?
-
Bandai plasters all that oversized and obnoxious tampo to dazzle and distract from the flaws in their designs. Like putting racing stripes on a Honda Civic.

0D should get its own thread.

Yehuda you're right. It's always different once it's in hand.

Can't wait to get mine!

Bandai teases lots of things that never see the light of day. Let's see what Bandai actually releases.

Now that is the most interesting thing to come out of this! Please don't be vaporware! And please make it 1/3000 scale! I have little faith in Bandai though...

Holy thunder thighs, Batman! I see Tallgeese hasn't been skipping leg day.

Fix the warped sniper rifle? Bandai has added more warped rifles to their repertoire during the past couple of releases.

Bandai as an organization does not tolerate failure... which is why they never admit to any failures.

He gets sidelined in the movie and contributes the same to the final battle. Which is absolutely nothing.

All that tampo printing isn't dazzling enough to hide the fact that fighter mode is inferior to Yamato. I felt the same way about their YF-19 compared to Arcadia's. And their 1/48 VF-1 compared the Yamato 1/60. Bandai is incapable of improving something without detracting from elsewhere.
-
So yeah, compared to the HMR VF-4, Bandai seems to have taken a step back with the overall fit and finish on the 0S. Side note: even though it uses the same sliding arm mechanism as the VF-1, I found it more difficult to tuck everything into fighter mode than the 1/60 0S. Add to that fewer tabs and detents than its bigger counterpart. The VF-4 was also equally lacking in detail markings out of the box though. Admittedly, the HMR 0S looks better in fighter mode than battroid, which is surprising for a Bandai valk. HMR VF-0S vs HMR VF-4 (both taken using DSLR) HMR vs 1/60 (both taken with phone camera)

Bandai does a lot better with the non-transforming mecha in this line. I guess for their development teams it's not much different than working on a Gundam.

Got 3 more stands in transit. Of course the Cavaliers will be getting the PF treatment. Eventually. Er, been playing God of War on PS5 instead of doing any valk work... Yeah, I have a bunch of Hot Toys Iron Man suits and the battery situation is ridiculous. Have to put tiny batteries in the head, chest, arms, legs, and even shoulders on some of them to light up everything. And then I have to take them out because those suckers will eventually start leaking if you leave them in too long. So the light up function is never used except in the rare situation I want to take some pics and go through the hassle of opening up all those compartments (and they're a real hassle to open) to place all those tiny batteries.
