I like them so far. Kind of worried I'm going to snap that backplate antenna right off one day in a moment of carelessness, as it's hard plastic and not the softer material like the turrets. Wish the purple parts on the chestplate were jeweled and not painted on. Definitely will need to do a wash this weekend to bring out those details... The stand attachment blows. Time to pick up some more Flightpose stands. Oh yeah, also noticed the slots on the main boosters for Luca's attachment. So it looks like we'll be getting the entire SMS Skull Squadron with super packs. Yay!

Well, since we're on a bitchfest, I want to contribute! The crotch shape doesn't look right. The edges are much larger on the toy than the anime. Area around the mouth should be painted grey. 25F is supposed to have a five o'clock shadow. Bandai overpainted the black crescent in the middle of the chest. The "tips" are clearly supposed to be white. Shield should be mounted on the underside of the forearm. Shoulder joints (not the block) should be able to dislocate but magically stay attached for greater range of movement. With so much to complain about, why fixate on just the crotch?

It's also off-white in the anime, but it looks like it should be the same color as the hip plates. It doesn't stick out as much in the anime because of the lighting/shading used and they seem to go to some lengths to hide it from the camera, like the VF-27's tail. I think using a wash will greatly improve it's appearance.

Can't know for sure how fast it will sell out until preorders go up. But if you really want one, best to just hedge your bets and jump on that preorder grenade as soon as it's thrown. I hope Bandai releases G super parts too. Looks so underdressed without them...

I passed on the initial 29 release because previous DX toys (and Bandai's entire history with the franchise) had pretty craptacular, and I wasn't confident that Bandai could produce a valkyrie toy that didn't suck. I'm sure there are others who felt the same way. Even after the 29 came and went, I was very cautious about preordering a 25F. It was only after I had gotten the first one in my hands and found that it was a POS that I ordered a second one. And you're right; Ozma didn't sell out in minutes. It sold out in hours. Which is hardly an improvement. I only managed to get a preorder in when someone canceled theirs about two weeks before release. (Thanks David! I'm really enjoying it.) But now that people know these toys don't suck, there's going to be a rush for them from collectors and scalpers alike. If you don't think the 25G will sell out fast, fine, that's your prerogative. However, I'm not going slack off and let the preorder window slip by if I can help it just because I think it's going to sell out much slower.

Simply knowing of Bandai's underproduction and wanting one "real bad" is not going to get anyone a preorder slot. You can't put in your preorder "immediately." You have to put in your preorder during the few minutes it's open, or you're SOL and have to get it from a secondary source (or hope you can catch a different retailer when they open up preorders). Which means you have to be at your computer when it opens, and not everyone has that luxury. It's not like a bunch of us were sitting idle on Amiami's 29 reissue and 171 open preorder pages deciding whether or not we really wanted one and then deciding to sleep on it.

I predict the 25G preorder will be even uglier than the 171 preorder.

The production quality on Bandai's current 25s might be a step down from Yamato's current offerings, but they're still beautiful and solid toys. Glad I snagged two 25Fs when they first came out, but now I wish I had gotten 3 or 4. Just so I can later on display one plain, with super parts, with armor parts, and maybe tornado parts if Bandai ever releases those. I wouldn't pay $400 for one though. If there are people out there willing to pay that much for it, then it'd be dumb for ebayers not to sell for that much.

Hey I noticed you're using flightpose stands. Have you had any issues with the rubber tips leaving marks or anything on painted surfaces? I just recently bought a few but I don't want to experience any problems with the paint job. The undersides of the 25S you have it mounted on are painted.

Don't forget a number of poor souls got burned by BBTS on the 25S. I didn't, but damned if I'm going to let anything like that happen to me.

Yep, I potentially have two YF-29s and three VF-171s coming because of this preorder madness. If I end up with extras, they're going on the auction block, unless the toy is just too many kinds of awesome to part with. I've always been content with ordering only ONE of any valkyrie, but thanks to these preorder shenanigans that Bandai is responsible for, I feel the need to order from more than one place just to secure ONE for myself.

Maybe someone will cancel. I didn't get my 25S preorder in until almost mid-January when I think someone canceled. Preorder opened up and closed again right after I put in my order. Just gotta be lucky and be there at the right time. But glad I got an HLJ order in this morning when I got up.

Curse having a day job! I would've put in an order at BBTS since I'm honestly unsure that I will get one through my Anime Export preorder.
