    amiami ?

HLJ is at the bottom of my (admittedly short) list of online hobby shops to order from, for similarly shoddy customer treatment.
  2. Holy crap looks like Ozma made an emergency crash landing. EDIT: I just received my EX-Gear Alto figure today and noticed that the paint around the butt area of the armor was scraped. My first thought was "Why didn't Bandai just mold it in color?" Then I noticed that the front plates on the leg armors are made of metal. Why?? Is there a minimum die cast quota that Bandai has to utilize to keep their suppliers happy? Their use of die cast seems almost random at times.
  3. And it'll probably still sell out fast. All roads of fault lead back to Bandai.
  4. The yellow and black stripes are completely covered by a separate armor plate in the show.
  5. Disappointed by the news, but I'm still getting one. I hate having this big gap in VFs between the VF-1 and VF-11.
  6. I was referring to the board as a whole when talking about people who didn't want a renewal, since it's a sentiment that's been going around amongst some. Sorry if I was unclear on that.
  7. I'm curious as to why people are opposed to a renewal version. Even if Bandai did a reissue with the "improvements" some have suggested, you'll still have to buy an entirely new valkyrie to get those "improvements" anyway. Might as well just have them redesign it from the ground up and really do the design justice. What, you seriously think Bandai will release a separate option parts kit with new hips and make people take apart their units to swap them out? For something that's not actually defective? Is this a case of "I don't want Bandai to release a renewal 27 because I don't want to feel like I wasted my money like others have on the original DX 25s."? That's a silly position to take. If you liked and enjoyed your 27, then it's not a waste.
  8. The 27 doesn't need a renewal version. Bandai just needs to release an option parts kit to swap out the arms, legs, feet, body, head, joints, wings, engines, cockpit, and figures.
  9. Old version still looks like crap to me. I want a renewal version, not a reissue.
  10. Sounds like sour grapes over someone else getting a preorder when he couldn't.
  11. The first time I transformed it back into fighter, I had the chest panels pop out. I found out that I could avoid it by leaving the chest panels all the way out as I push the chest downwards until it's almost all the way down before pushing the chest panels in. I haven't transformed it again since finishing my wash on it, so I'll have to review it again. I think I could also push the chest panels in only slightly, leaving them at an angle, so that when I did push the chest downward, it pushed the panels back up into its fighter mode position.
  12. Does the VF-1D with option parts come with Hikaru and Minmay or does it only come with a generic pilot figure?

    DX VF-25G

    $233? F that.
  14. It's nice to be able to sit out of this preorder madness. But for all the people who wanted one but got the shaft from Bandai, this one's for you: F U BANDAI!!!
  15. A good VF-1S scheme doesn't need to be all white with a few stripes. See Ozma's VF-25S.
  16. The colors aren't bad, it's the rather haphazard arrangement and insistence on following Alto's YF-29 pattern (with tiger stripes) that is making look just weird to me. It really does look like someone at Bandai just went nuts with the pallette swapping. A real "VF-1S" color scheme should be more along the lines of the VF-0S or that pimp custom YF-19 someone did awhile back. Sometimes less is more.
  17. Yup, just like how rare and highly sought after the entire V1 DX line is.
  18. That just looks bizarre. I would rather have had an all grey low-viz version than this... zebra??
  19. After inserting the wing pin, they can be turned while in the slot. This prevents them from falling out without pulling hard on them. I put nail polish on my wing pins and on the slot in the wings. Doesn't make the wings any better, but it does tighten them enough so that the wings don't slide backwards during, uh, combat maneuvers.
  20. I think paint scratching is just a fact of life with this particular toy, what with all the markings. My worst part is the bottom back of the head. That area gets scratched up pretty good; I've had to touch it up with a black Gundam marker after every transformation. Other noticeable areas I had to touch up were the wings being scraped by the backpack and the tips of the feet.
  21. Okay, I will admit that if they ever release Mylene's valkyrie w/boobs, I'll be all over that preorder like stink on cheese.
  22. I see I'm not the only one who noticed the warping. Instead of one long continuous curve like the 25, the warping (at least on mine) seems to be most pronounced towards the tips of the wings. It's really noticeable in a front profile view, like some Zentradi tried to pull the wingtips upward.
  23. Well, any comparison is going to be "unfair" in one manner or another when comparing different VFs from different shows made years apart. Engineering challenges aren't relevant to my preference since I don't own a 17. Actually, they're never relevant to me because I don't care what engineering challenges Yamato or Bandai or whoever has to overcome to produce a valkyrie toy. As the consumer, the only question I care about is: Is it a good toy? Same with video games, movies, etc. But I'm going way off there. Some people love the chunky 17, and that's cool. I never really liked any of the M7 designs so I think it's amazing Kawamori took the old 17 and redesigned it into something that I really dig and prefer over most other valkyries now.
