  1. It really shouldn't bother anyone. If they wanted the valks bad enough and are willing and able to pay the mark-ups going around, then they should be happy with their purchases. If it bothers them, then they really should have bought them earlier when they were at (or below) retail price, before Yamato went under. Not everyone could afford these toys when they first came out, and that's understandable. I'm just saying if you can afford today's panic prices, you could've afforded them before. (This is not to say that it was the fanbase's responsibility to keep Yamato afloat. Maintaining a viable business was Yamato's job, not ours, and any insinuation otherwise is just plain stupid.) I've personally picked up a few valks since Yamato went bankrupt, but only if the price was reasonable. I refuse to pay some of the crazy mark-ups on ebay. I'll just wait and see if Arcadia releases new ones, or I'll just go without.
  2. Any other Mass Effect fans here who picked up Commander Shepard from Kotobukiya?
  3. Around $300 for the VF-4G. After that, about $225 for the 1/3000 SDF-1. Non-Macross: About $220 for the 1/144 scale GP03 Dendrobium mobile armor. I'm also kind of a cheap bastard and ~$200 is my upper limit for any toy. Made an exception for the VF-4G because it seemed like a once in a lifetime opportunity.
  4. Sure. And the Bandai employee who reads it will know where to put that letter, because he (or she) will also be literate in Japanese.
  5. Oh my god! MDEs! Might have to get a two sets...
  6. 18,000 yen. If I find another at a good price, I'll PM you about it.
  7. A lucky find off Mandarake. They have one every once in a blue moon. It was listed as an opened item but when I received it, everything was still sealed. Even the toy itself was covered in mold release agent. It was a new, unopened unit. I used to consider the YF-29 as the turning point where Bandai's Macross toys finally stopped sucking. I was wrong. The VB-6 rocks!
  8. Paint scraping on that nose piece is simply a fact of life when dealing with Bandai's renewals. I often lose a tiny bit of paint when transforming from battroid back to fighter. Luckily, the scraped spot is tiny, and can be touched up easily enough with a Gundam marker. For the 25F, I use the grey panel lining Gundam marker. Of course I use black for the 25S and 25G.
  9. Wow! Didn't expect a preorder to open up in the middle of the night (in Japan)!
  10. I guess their refusal to adjust USD pricing with currency fluctuations is a recent change? I asked if I was going to get the lower price on the YF-29 30th anniversary super parts and got this reply: "Hello and thank you for your email! Unfortunately the price for pre order remain the same even if the currency rate changes. So you will be charged the price on your pre order." I suspect the change has to do with the recent weakening of the yen. It went from about 80 yen to $1 at the start of the year to it's current rate of 99 yen to $1. For NY that's a lot of extra yen if they make people keep the same dollar price for preorders made prior to the drop. I'm not going to pursue the matter further since it's only a few bucks for me, but for people with large orders, that's a hefty chunk of change. YF-29 super parts are sold out anyway, so I can't just make a new order.
  11. Does anyone know if the tips will also eat into protective clearcoats? I own about 10 of these stands that I've picked up over time that I'll try to continue using, but I wouldn't buy any more, and I won't recommend them to anyone. In addition to the paint-eating issue, straight out of the box a few of mine were missing a rubber nub in the base, making the entire stand rickety like a table at a faux French cafe. I'm very careful about making sure the tips only contact unpainted surfaces, but for some reason the tips leave a greasy residue on my VF-1D. It doesn't happen with any other valkyrie. No idea why.
  12. Got my 19S a few days ago and I love it. It's essentially the same toy as the Fire Valkyrie; mostly a matter of if you prefer red or blue. I prefer the Fire because of the longer, straight wings and the canards. Although the 19S's wings are only a little shorter, the wider design just makes them look kinda stumpy to me.
  13. I think you have to email them directly and request a cancellation.
  14. I'm so happy I finally got a 171 preorder. I never got one before anywhere else, not even an inflated price NY preorder.
  15. RVF-25 and VF-171 still open. I'm astounded. Now I can cancel the overpriced RVF over at NY.
  16. VF-25F went super fast. I added to cart but was gone in the few moments it took to checkout.
  17. VF-25F was opened momnetarily, but closed before I could finished checkout. RVF-25 and VF-171 I managed to snag.
  18. HLJ preorder reopened! http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN980635/Sci
  19. I have two from the original release, and I managed to get a preorder in. Would like a 4th just so I can have one naked, super, armor, and tornado packed. VF-25 is one of my favorite designs and Alto and Ozma have the best colors, being Frontier analogs of Hikaru and Roy's colors.
  20. Missed AE too. Couldn't stay up all night two days in a row. Damn this weak human body! Still looking for a 4th 25F... /firstworldproblems
  21. The preorder madness really ramped up around the renewal 25S. I was able to get a second 25F the first time around weeks after its release.
  22. I was not aware Hobby Search ever carried the VF-4G.
  23. Man I'm stoked. Can't sleep now... ...of course I have to be up in an hour anyway. But it was worth it.
  24. Oh my god that sucks. Damn that window was so short. About 20 seconds from update scanner alert to finishing checkout and it was closed when I returned to the item page.
