I can't think of an easier way for Bandai to squeeze more money out of me... assuming I can even get a 25G.

Having seen her perform here and in Japan, that's pretty much the impression I had as well. In America, I actually got to touch the Galactic Fairy! I'll never wash this hand again.

Her English seemed heavily scripted/rehearsed to me. This is not to disparage her. Quite the opposite, in fact. English is not her native tongue, and English is such a stupid and difficult and nonsensical language anyway that I appreciate the great effort she's put into communicating with her English-speaking fans. To put it in perspective, imagine one of you non-Japanese speaking folks trying to learn to say everything she said, but in proper Japanese.

Just got back from her SF concert. It was amazing, as always. She just gets cuter and cuter.

It's Monday afternoon in Japan. So who's resuming the night-time vigil?

I'm the opposite; don't really care much for the 29's Gundam-ish battroid and prefer fighter, despite the garish paint scheme... which detracts from the appearance in all modes. I've already remarked on how the parts don't fit as well as the renewals. Those shoulders pop out way too easily. Getting the arms tucked underneath with the shoulders still on was the most irritating part of the transformation. I don't think I'm going to bother transforming it again after that.

There's only one super pack set for the YF-29.

Got around to putting the YF-29 super parts on... and then promptly took them off. They're just too much. Unlike the VF-1 and VF-25 super parts, these detract from the 29's look. Way too tacky.

Hey guys, I'm currently trying to take apart my YF-29 toy so I can do some detail work on it. I was disassembling the front fuselage but reached a point where the screws are exposed but inaccessible with a screwdriver. There has to be a way to get to them, since they of course did it at the factory. Anyone know how to get at them? I've attached some pics showing which screws Im talking about. There's 4 screws, two on each inner side.

I bought the Armored Klan from HLJ way back when it was on sale at 60% off... and promptly sold it because of the spectacularly crappy stand system, where instead of one stable stand, you had to sort of balance it on several tiny stands connected to ball joints, making it a pain to set up or, god forbid, actually move it. Glad it sold for way more than I paid for it. Got a micro Klan instead and am much happier.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: F U BANDAI! Since I have to be up in about 3.5 hours anyway, I'll just stay up playing iPad games while my computer constantly updates HLJ in the vain hope they might put up the 25G preorder. Also not as excited about the 25G as I was about the F and S, but I'm just too deep into the Frontier line now to not complete it.

I would be willing to order 3 if I can make the HLJ preorder window.

Wow, preorders went up right after I went to sleep. Oh well hopefully HLJ will have them up for more than a minute.

This wouldn't be MW without complaining, so let the bitching begin! Now that I have a YF-29 in my hands, wow, I can say it's a step down from the renewals. Just taking it out of the box, I've noticed: -parts just don't seem to fit as well together as they do on the renewals -big, unsightly gap between the nose cone and the rest of the front fuselage -knife is one solid color -some small stress marks on the back wing glove hinges -color mismatch between red plastic and red paint is painfully obvious even at a distance with the naked eye -big chunk of red paint already scraped off the head -lots and lots of grease/mold release agent/whatever -only the bottoms of the black lerx (is that really what they're called?) are painted, leaving unsightly white gaps (I'll have to paint it in myself) -no *straight* head turret replacements like the 25S (was a vain hope, I know) -pilot figure has the old crappy paint app, not the slightly better ones that came with the renewals I'm reasonably satisfied with my purchase, I guess. I like the design enough (but not the tiger stripes) to warrant the money spent. And it doesn't look anywhere near as awful as the original DX toys. But if anyone offers to trade you a 29 for a renewal 25F or 25S, don't do it!

Just got home and my YF-29 and new Ranka were waiting for me.

HLJ had limit 3 on the 171 preorders.

For the peeps eagerly awaiting the 29 reissue, looks like they're finally out!

My new Figuarts Zero Sheryl finally arrived (I'm a cheapskate who almost always uses SAL). I really like the outfits worn by Sheryl and Ranka at the end of the last movie, so I was really looking forward to this figure, but at the same time I was a bit wary given Bandai's previous effort. (Emotion Style? More like Emotion-less Style, seeing how dead and lifeless that Sheryl figure looked). Fortunately, this one does not disappoint. She's small; about 1/10 scale I estimate, but still a decent size, considering that the 1/8 Sheryl figures are pretty damn tall. She's a pretty sculpt, with a good paint app and no glaring QC defects. For only 3600 yen, I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase. So if anyone was on the fence about this figure, I say just buy it and enjoy. Looks like Ranka just came out, but she doesn't look as good from the available photos. And she's too tall next to Sheryl.

Applied wash to the crotch plate... and it still looks awful. Let's face it, the super part crotch is just ugly, regardless of which version you're looking at. It just doesn't match up with the rest of the super parts. Also, how does it eject when in fighter mode?

I broke that tab on my VF-1S awhile back. It's not particularly vital.

Finally got around to doing a wash on the super parts. Nothing special, just wanted to bring out the surface details a little more. Seemed a shame not to. Anyway, hope everyone who wanted super parts have them in their hands by now and are enjoying them.
