Transformed my 1J to fighter mode. Transformation was easy. It's as "perfect" as it can be at this size, I suppose. Fighter mode is ugly. No two ways around it. Mine especially since the feet are crooked. Tried twisting the feet straight but they don't appear to have that range of motion, so it's just shoddy build quality. This and any future HMR VF-1 purchases are staying in battroid mode, which makes them overpriced Robot Damashii figures to me. Hope the Regults are are of better build quality than this.

You should totally transform your VF-4! It's one of the easiest valkyries to transform. I was able to open it and have it transformed to battroid in just a few minutes despite having never seen it transform and without needing to check the manual.

Bandai's most expansive line would be their gashapons but I'm not replacing anything with those either. I'll wait till these things are actually for sale before I go congratulating Bandai for their "expansive" line. Bandai has a whole graveyard of dead and abandoned Macross products. Does anyone here own a Bandai Vajra?

So finally got my HMR GBP set (I pack as much as I can into the 60 days given by HLJ). Don't have time to fiddle the with the armor, but played around with the 1J a bit. It's nice for what it is, but it definitely doesn't hold a candle to its bigger Yamato brother. The angle of the red chest stripes is a real eyesore to me. Noticed the "1" on the armor chest plate is ever so slightly crooked. Most people probably wouldn't even notice, but I do. Not going to replace my 1/60 collection, but for the price, I like it. Looking forward to future HMR releases, especially the ones that will probably never see a 1/60 version.

Holding on to all my 1/60 valkyries. The HMR stuff looks great and I'm definitely in for many of the upcoming releases, but I am not confident that Bandai won't drop the line as soon as sales start looking disappointing. I won't begrudge Bandai for trying to make sound business decisions, but it sure would suck to only have half the Skull squadron when the plug gets pulled.

It's just the lighting. It's also a V1 VF-27, seeing the crooked modex number on it and lack of markings seen on the newer version.

Story has never been a strong point in Macross as far I'm concerned (even Plus had a messed up story imo) but I'm still going to buy up any and all valkyries that I like the looks of. Looks like more Bandai preorder madness for a lot of us in the near future...

Why not? Arcadia could add that as a gimmick and charge an extra 5000 yen.

I repainted mine in the FB2012 colors but I think mine looks amateurish compared to the awesomeness of wm cheng's! The skull squadron is an interesting idea. I'll think about trying it. I'll only have 3 units though, so I guess Kakizaki gets the shaft yet again!

Oh man, as much as I like Arcadia products, their pricing is brutal. Aside from the YF-19, I've had to limit myself to only one of each Arcadia release because of the price. A world where people can only afford one of each valkyrie... that's not the kind of world I want my kids growing up in!

Arcadia GBP set comes with a built-in display stand. They're called "legs" I believe.

I just shipped out a huge shipment from HLJ via FedEx. Only 7900 yen and easily bigger than 2 valks. HLJ tends to have the lowest shipping rates in my experience, so I've got 2 VF-4s with them. Gonna customize them into Skull 2 and Skull 3. Low shipping + PW means I order way more from HLJ than I did in the dark ages before PW.

If you're referring to the price on Amiami, it's because they add in the 8% Japanese consumption tax before subtracting the PO discount, which they have at only 6%. So yeah it's over 27k on Amiami because of Amiami's shenanigans. Japanese consumption tax isn't supposed to apply to international purchases like this. Amiami is the only online retailer I know that adds it in their price. It's exactly 27k on HLJ with no PO discount.
