Thanks guys! Yeah, after fiddling with the TV and movie squadrons recently, I have to say the Yamato VF-1 is still the best, even compared to all the great valkyrie toys to come out since. -

Battroid is the only mode I like on the HMR.

1/48 in battroid is like seeing a body builder with long, skinny arms and even smaller hands. I don't recall a 1/48 VE-1.

Virgin Road. I'll probably get one because I am a consumer whore, but another HMR VF-1 is just *yawn* Though strangely enough, I'd be much more excited for a VT-1.

The SDF-1 changes appearance a lot depending on who's drawing it. As long as there are no glaring omissions in the details, I'm not going to lose any sleep because that one tiny red light on the port side wasn't in the movie.

The glow in the dark stickers only came with the Yamato SDF-1 assembly kit and not the completed version. Arcadia might include them with their reissue, but I've heard nothing about it and wouldn't count on it.

8700 yen for EMS. 7300 for SAL but I wouldn't ship something this expensive like that. If I didn't already have a cheaper one on preorder, I'd go with NY on this one.

Yeah that's why I qualified it with "if you have the time and skill." (I lack both.) I've had my Yamato version for years and I still haven't stuck all the little cannons and thrusters on it.

If you have the time and skill, you should absolutely customize the regular release. Aside from saving some money (at least on the initial purchase, as hobby supplies can get expensive real fast if you're not already stocked), there's the fun and satisfaction of something you worked on yourself.

Says it's the anniversary special color edition. I'd expect Bandai to release blue and red versions a bit down the road. Recolors are cheap!
