  1. ... this is what has been pimped for months now? This is what everyone has been hinting at as being, "big and massive changes that will have resounding effects"? This is... *yawn* pathetic. I mean, it was really and truly bad. An hour of watching people whine, batty, and complain is not how I envision an enjoyable TV show. Plus, I'm a bit upset at just how quickly this "Eye of Jupiter" thing was brought up. Nobody talked about it for episodes, and suddenly everyone is mentioning it every second word. On the plus side, this means no more of watching Starbuck at all. I got tired of her as a character around the fifth episode of the Season 1.
  2. Most of which turn out to be total lies- oh, my apologies. "Corporate mis-translation."
  3. I'm not all that fond of those sculpts, actually. The Alpha proportions look hideous in battloid mode, like someone put it in a rack and stretched the crap out of it. Plus I'm not that fond of the way the nosecone is sticking out at an angle in battloid mode. Plus the Beta... engh, looks too artsy for my taste. The centreline missles are proud of the main fusilage and the sticking out hands are a big eyesore.
  4. So you hated the lightning fast transformations in Macross Plus then?
  5. The only problem with that is that you need to care about the characters in order to enjoy a character-driven episode.
  6. Sadly enough, you'll never be able to legislate away stupidity no matter how hard you try. Move up to Canada, then We'll be glad to have you
  7. Not to mention the colourful decoys made out of Toynami boxes
  8. That's part of the fun for me. Picking out Vancouver locals in all the productions going on here is amusing to no end
  9. Paint. As the article above says, the yellowing is because the plastic itself is deteriorating into a slightly different type of plastic than it originally was, not because of any surface substance. Although that's not quite true. If you brought some sandpaper to your toy, you could sand off the top layer of yellowed plastic, exposing the next layer of plastic to the air and light and heat.
  10. *slap!* Oh, sorry. You said don't slap you. My mistake
  11. I was hoping the 30th Editions would be in one of the two high-def formats. Star Wars is a franchise that is just begging for the high-def treatment, as long as the matte boxes and strings get edited out
  12. The problem is that there's so much anime magic going on in the New Gen mecha that it's not funny. Making it happen on paper is one thing, making it in reality is quite another. I too would like the gap to be closer or not there at all, but I'm willing to accept some leeway.
  13. Has anyone seen this before? I've seen it a few times on eBay and have been tempted each time.
  14. Nice to know I'm not the only one
  15. That's how some people feel about Macross 7 and Macross Zero.
  16. Whichever format scores the SW massive double trilogy release may just as well win the format war based on the strength and moving power of that title alone.
  17. Only if the main character is named Grim.
  18. Feminism gone rampant.
  19. Bright purple if the designers thinks it's better for the toy.
  20. Whichever one is closest in scale.
  21. Can we get some more side-by-side shots of the VF-1 and the Alpha?
  22. Okay, never go to a Robotech convention. Indeed. But as I've grown older, I've discovered that I like the story of Robotech more than the show itself. Not that the show or any of its components is bad, mind you, but every time I sit down to watch it, I never last more than ten minutes before something else goes on. I think that's why I like the Robotech RPG and novels more than ever now; both lines gave volumes more background information on the rest of the world and not just focused on the main characters.
  23. My favourite part is when Unit II is bonding to Valkuria, AFTER the requisite sexplotation fanservice piece Showing the armour slowly solidfying into it's hard form, seeing the details emerge into the final unit is just awesome. Indeed. I felt that while the animation in the new one is superior for the most part, the direction and choreography of the fights are just phenominally better in the original OVA. The only exception being the battle with Risker and Unit II. That was so much more entertaining in this new one.
  24. Games coming up? Knights of the Old Republic III is virtually guaranteed, and that's a game that isn't missable. The Splinter Cell games are also excellent. Xbox Live is great for software updates and demo trials, but I don't use it much for multiplayer gaming.
  25. Isn't that Galvitron?
