  1. that's the part that always bothered me about the CFA-44, the weapons on it are so completely cheap, almost as much so as the ADF-01's ZOMGLAZER!! I miss the X-02, it was awesome, but still somewhat plausible, and it used conventional weapons. :edit: you know what, an ADF-01 style valk would be cool, though the V-9 ghost and the VF-27 remind me of them a little bit (both are ridiculously maneuverable jets with big superguns, and the V-9's have the right color.)
  2. that's great. I always' thought that Battle 7 looked rather clown like. the more menacing look of the newer NMC's make them more badass. I do find the Galaxy scarier looking than the frontier (Purple+more pointy bits=pure evil) I'm curious as to why the Galaxy has 2 points to the front of each arm flight deck instead of 1 as on all the other NMC's. though I wonder why any of the flight decks have long extended points like that in the first place.
  3. the first part is in reference to this thread: http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=27899 and as for the second part, I think you can figure it out.
  4. agreed, the middle pic is defiantly of two normal Guantanamo's and the third pic looks like a poorly drawn Uraga. the model in the third pic however is defiantly something different. maybe it's a carrier class introduced after SW1 that was mostly out of service before 2040.
  5. I would totally wear it if I could afford a $120 jacket
  6. actually that's just what I was thinking. just like there are different types of jet engine, maybe there are different types of fold engine. all of them work on the same basic scientific/mathematical principles, but using different technologies.
  7. you know, when you think about it, a CFA-44 might actually work, though I don't think anything like the X-36 would work. part of what makes the X-36 so distinct is how flat it is, and I've found that it's rather hard to make a valk that's very flat, and looks good in both fighter and batroid mode.
  8. one question on that, when the thing is cockpit facing down and backwards?
  9. honestly? first i think the name is a bit odd, second I think the fighter looks a little stubby (in the pic+the color scheme I thought you posted an SD 25F at first)
  10. how does that look once it's done? I'd think that the stickers would be a bit too thick to go over with a clear coat that actually does anything. anyway's I think the best option would be use the kit decals with a bit of decal softener then hit all the decal parts with gloss clear, do panel lines and weathering over that, then hit the kit with a satin clear coat. (also, it sometimes helps to give the kit a coat of gloss clear BEFORE the decals, so that you don't get that silvery edge around the decals.)
  11. because it's more fun bitching about the DX instead, even if we end up buying it. (have I mentioned that I'm going to get at least one of these)
  12. the partsformer looks like ass as much or more than the DX, and at lest the DX is PT. and can we drop the fu*king A-game/C-game crap. it's annoying as all Fu*cking hell.
  13. I wonder how well that would work on that part though, the little tab looks incredibly tiny. (it sounds doable, I'd just like to know how big the little tab is.)
  14. sorry, but we have to keep bringing up the same old s**t, it's like slavery or the holocaust, we have to keep bringing it up so that you never forget. seriously though, even without a neck, the head on the 25S looks a hell of a lot better on this than on the 1/72 kit.
  15. let's just be thankful it has cockpit detail at all. (I'm amazed bandai actually bothered, now if only they had tried on the rest of the thing)
  16. way to skew the results march j/k
  17. "that's it man, game over man! Game over!" I do love the 21, the only problem with the no arms and legs thing is that without the arms/legs it's got no offensive weapons other than missiles. for innovative valks I like the VA-3 family just because it was the only valk that was designed from the begining to be a variable attack valk.
  18. probably members only as in "you must be +18 to enter this site"
  19. weird, I hate painting small parts. I've noticed something though about that decal, on the michel and luca versions they use the same red decal, is the little triangle supposed to always be red, or is it supposed to be color matched? anyways I'm debating what I want to do with the landing gear. the kit pieces look like absolute crap and considering how simple the real gears are I'm thinking about scratch building new ones out of brass tube and styrene. but considering that I don't plan on displaying any of mine with gears down at this point, I don't know if it's worth it. I really wanna get a third alto now and see if I can make it PT.
  20. I just want to make sure, you're using a decal set like Micro Set, right? maybe you should consider using an actual Decal softener, a little bit of that will make a decal conform to almost any shape.
  21. it's mostly the "Japanese have no space" that does it, which sucks for me because I live in America and have room for larger stuff, but said larger stuff does not exist. I figure a 1/48 VF-25 model without armor would cost as much as a PG kit, so maybe around $150? with super parts, more like $200, and I don't even know about armor parts. (personally I'd be fine with the cheaper valk only kit since I think the super/armor parts look like ass) the thing that bothers me more than not making stuff in a larger size like 1/48 is that they make things in 1/60. valks and PG gundams are the only things I can think of that come in 1/60 scale, so they don't match with anything I own (I mostly build 1/48 and 1/72 aircraft models, though I prefer the 1/48)
  22. you do know that both the 360 and PS3 are sold under cost right?
  23. no, he's talking about somehow mounting the boosters from the VF-1 FAST packs onto a VF-25. (how you could possibly do that, I have no idea)
  24. I'm getting a strange kind of wedding vibe, I wonder who for?
