  1. My VL worked great, and they are more robust and precise than Aztek's. I got fed up with the VL mostly because it was a bitch to clean. paint would get in to every little nook and cranny on the thing, and I'd have to regularly tear it down completely. at that point I would inevitably lose something, (usualy part of the stupid screw thing that holds the flow control part of the trigger open) and need to spend the next hour or so looking for the missing part. any level of cleaning takes about half as long and is much easier on My Eclipse. Now I just use the VL for doing large areas since I've got some large Jars for it, and I've got a High flow nozzle for it.
  2. or they can just go talk/ask about them in the correct thread here: http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=27059 and now this thread's gonna get locked.
  3. the EX-Gear probably has some way of detecting if the pilot is incapacitated, or otherwise not piloting the thing, and will automatically descend slowly using it's thrusters. and as for the person in back, they're probably sitting on a conventional ejection seat, so in the event of a bailout in hostile territory, they have to take care of themselves the old fashioned way.
  4. wow, it's like a time warp in here . if you guy's wait much longer they'll be on to 8th-Gen systems. (GET AN 360, IS SUPERIOR )
  5. perhaps they have a slightly different engine variant for each model.
  6. blame Microsoft word spell check.
  7. yep, pics showed up here a couple of day's ago. it's just a 3D print only painted now, and the tag by it says "sale unconfirmed" but there's hope, and it looks awesome.
  8. well it helps that bandai has ABS plastic pilots instead of soft rubbery gummy pilots.
  9. I however was referring to the naked valk without FAST packs (which is how the VF-1 is seen for probably 3/4 of the series), in which case the backpack thrusters are tucked between the legs facing forwards, not were you can use them. also, weren't the FAST packs designed AFTER the VF-1 was already built? either way my point still stands that the VF-1 has an engine on it that is only being used some of the time. and i don't think the backpack can be intentionally exposed during fighter mode. it would eliminate two of the aircraft's control surfaces (the tailplane's, or are they rudervators on the VF-1?) create aerodynamic instability in the plane, increase drag, and probably wouldn't create that much more thrust anyways. to me the backpack's main purpose is for stability in Batroid mode, providing thrust above the center of gravity, which is more stable than thrust cumming from bellow. it also serves as a limited source of supplemental propulsion in GERWALK mode sort of like the engines on some helicopters, they provide some forward propulsion, but the main source is the same as the one that provides primary lift.
  10. wow, my first airbrush was a Paasche VL, I still have it but I can't stand the thing. it was a pain in the ass to clean and I managed to ruin several sets of nozzles trying to assemble it afterwords. (the brass on the nozzle was so soft the needles would splay the nozzle open when you try to adjust them)
  11. inkjets can be problematic. ink doesn't really obsorb into decal paper, rather it sits on the surface of it so it smudges really easily. you need to let it dry for several days. seal it (krylon Crystal Clear acrylic is supposed to be good), then let it sit for at lest a day or two. it also works best to print at the highest resolution possible, with the printer set to printing on Gloss photo paper. basicaly it's a pain in the ass to print with a normal inkjet, but it can be done, and the paper in the testors kit is I think only for injet. I know micro mark makes decal film for laser printers, and that through a color laser printer works fairly well (no smudging and you don't need to seal, though decal paper tends to not feed well)
  12. yeah, you'll also notice that the lenses on the head are just painted on, it looks like for the Michel and Luca versions they took a couple alto kits painted them the appropriate colors and stuck on Resin parts unique to that model.
  13. it's a 1/12-scale replica of a gundam beam saber. it makes lights and sounds, sort of like those life size light saber replicas. http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN954964
  14. actually I voted for Sheryl.
  15. Sheryl looks like a moderate to large C. Grace looks like a large D, maybe even a DD. and klan... DDD-DDDD if see still had them when she micronizes. I wonder what that would be when she's macronized, decuple Z?
  16. no, it's just really a bullet. 7.62x25mm Tokarev to be exact. I can tell from having shot bullets, and having seen quite a few bullets in my time.
  17. hey, what are these things anyway?
  18. JESUS H. CHRIST! I think you're right!
  19. ugh, please no. how big ARE sheryl's hopes and dreams?
  20. the gunpod looks identical to the one the VF-17 used, I wonder why it isn't stored in the legs on the 171. not enough room now? and as for putting the gun on the arm the problem with having the gun there is that it's probably a little difficult for the gun to get from the right arm facing backwards to in the right hand. on the leg it's easier to draw and put away.
  21. that looks like the plan as of now. if you're one of the people that get first release alto/ozma, you dont get fast packs, and will have to order them later. though that still better than coming out with the toy without fast packs, introducing a version with them a few months latter and then never releasing fast pack for the people who bought them early. here's an interesting thought. since the armor is removable, do you think that it can be assembled together off the valk the way it is in the show (when they leave it in orbit around Gallia 4)
  22. I also wish they would do a PG VF-25... (anything happen yet?) the base is pritty cool all though it kind of sucks that they're showing them to us NOW, after i've alread ordered a bunch of white action bases for my 25F's. WOW, the Red Vajra looks so cool... MUST BUY. the Super packs look sweet, but I wonder if they'll actually be stand alone or if you have to buy the kit a second time to get the them with super parts, (I also wonder how they'll connect to the valk, the kit doesn't have clear points they plug into like the DX does) I want the Michel kit bad but would perfer it with armor, and I wasn't planing on buying too of them. if the armor is stand alone I can buy him when it first comes out and get the armor parts later. if the armor is removable I think it would be sweet if they threw in a fold booster and made it so the armor could be assembled together like in the show.
  23. I would like some non-transforming kits, but at least with fighter mode I want them like the Hase kits: 1/72 scale kits that you glue and paint, no snap kits and no colored plastic please. also nothing in 1/144 scale, those would be TINY. 1/72 is small enough as it is (I wish they just made everything in 1/48). I suport the idea of a PG perfect transformation VF-25. if they ever did a pre-painted version it would probebly be that. it would probebly be 1/48th scale and hopefully it would have both super and armor parts bundled with it, though that might be a bit much to ask for.
  24. the stand is a nice touch, also it looks like the markings will all be painted/tempo printed on which is nice. also WTF is up with ozma's head?!? all the valk's head sit a little low (probebly a design consesion to make the thing work, and I can live with that) but Ozma has like no neck at all. also, Tiny hands are TINY!
