basically, if you can't build it from scratch yourself, you're better off spending your money on something more practical... like a Lamborghini.

When you're talking about Major triple A titles that are expected to sell millions of copies, I think it's a little presumptuous to say that there isn't a significant amount of crossover in audience between halo and MGS. Further, saying you don't like something because it's impractical is NOT the same as saying, "I'm offended by the way a character is being depicted because it's blatantly perpetuating sexism and the objectification of women," which is really the issue at hand. Now, does the material he himself work on have it's own laundry list of problematic issues, and could he have chosen a more tactful way of presenting his critique of the situation? Sure; but that in no way invalidates the core point of his argument. Even if he has presented his criticism in a less than ideal manner you are doing a significant disservice to both yourself and society as a whole by resorting to ad hominem attacks to deflect and downplay the valid social issue being raised in a critique simply because it's being raised against a piece of media that you like. As a conscious consumer of media you have an obligation to recognize and acknowledge the problematic elements present in the things you enjoy; engage in constructive discussion regarding those elements; and acknowledge other, even less favorable, interpretations of the media you like. There's nothing wrong with enjoying something even though it's problematic in it's portrayal of a pertinent social issue, but refusing to acknowledge and address those issues does nothing but passively perpetuate those issues through inaction which drags down society as a whole. :tl;dr: Even if you think someone is wrong, blowing them off and refusing the critically evaluate their position is the worst possible thing you can do as a contributing member of society.

I generally love butts and boobs and impractical sexy outfits but I don't care for this one bit. Sniper wolf and Eva in MSG3 pulled off the same idea infinitely better IMO.

I've been saying that for a while, if you airbrush/spraypaint, you NEED a good respirator. I love the look of the 3M masks but the cartridges are pricey.

mine is like that too, it's just some of the grey paint from the underside of the back plate showing through.

Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim'

Question on total recall, at any point did anyone stop and say, "hey guys, does anyone else think having an elevator that runs through the center of the earth is a LITTLE silly?" Seriously though, at least it looked cool.- 1207 replies

I don't think they're going to develop solids that can selectively pass through other solids in the next 5 years... just saying.

it was a sort of vague response about having secured all the "newer" 1/60 Yamato molds; with no concrete definition given as to what constitutes "Newer". the only thing we know for sure is that they didn't pick up the 1/48 molds because not only are they old but they're also warn out. Also, getting back to davidwhangchoi's post; for some reason when i read his first post I thought he was talking about the 1/60 Q-rau. So disregard what I said earlier, Arcadia presumably does have the molds and will probably re-issue max and Miria 1/60 VF-1J's down the line... as a two pack... that's an online exclusive... that costs $900... and doesn't include FAST packs...
-
I doubt that Arcadia even picked up a mold that old. #killingthedream

Gundam Fix Figuration: Thinking of starting a collection
anime52k8 replied to Sandman's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
we do have a thread for gundam TOYS (as apposed to gunpla): http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=29348&page=1 anyways, I agree with eggy's take on the GFF line. The original small GFF figures where basically really detailed and elaborate MSIA figures, they were all soft PVC plastic and had sclupts so they tended to have part fit issues and be kind of floppy. I've got 3 left myself, two of them (1/144 GFF zeta plus and GFF RX-78-5) look good but are basically hot messes if you try to move them around, the only semi-solid one is a zeonography Zaku II. the GFFMC line is really nice but a completely different animal. There all 1/100 scale (except for the Psycho mk.I and mkII which are the same size as a 1/100 Gundam even though it's 1/144 scale). They use die-cast, ABS and POM with very little soft PVC plastic. there quite expensive but worth it as high end toys IMO. On the GFFN line, there was also a GFFN zeta II and a GFFN ReZEL which are size wise the same as the old GFF toys but construction is closer to the GFFMC minus the diecast. anyways, I say if you want small and inexpensive Gundam toys, get RD figures. there a little more toyish since they don't carry as much tampo printing but their construction and engineering is vastly superior to the Gundam toy lines that pre-dated them. RD also covers a huge verity of designs and it's still an ongoing line. -

Yeah, they like releasing cool but slightly niche remolds and repaints via their webshop. It's part of there general love for making their customers suffer as much as possible.

I'm amused by how perplexed you are by something they do all the time.

They made a Minmay back when they where still Yamato.
