I just cancelled the preorder I had on the original version of this figure, and now they have a pink repaint. I love pink repaints. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-005432&page=top

The chest still looks kind of fat.

Hate to break this to you, but the back of the VF-25F's head is basically the same.
-
have I ever mentioned how Lechery is the the worst company ever?
-
it's the worst toy ever made, you will be disappointed.
-
OH MY GOD GUYS, THIS TOY IS ABSOLUTE CRAP! EVERYONE SHOULD TOTALLY NOT GET ONE OR EVEN ATTEMPT TO PRE-ORDER IT. except for me.
-
god damn it, when did this happen? I guess I'll just be waiting for when gets released to buy one at retail.
-
I've never cared much for WAVE's Beach Queen line; they're too small, cheaply made and are generally just plain boring figures. And yet there's something I find compelling about this one. maybe it's the fact that this one looks to actually have a half way decent combination of sculpted and painted detail. Or maybe it's the fact that she's posed as if she were a dog pissing on a fire hydrant, which I find hilarious.
-
exactly. I'd like the option for a slightly taller battroid mode.
-
I think it's a good toy. that said, does anyone else find the wing mechanism kind of floppy when you start putting weapons on? I really think they should have put a tab or detent of some kind in the wing glove to hold the wing in the proper swept forward position. :edit: also, I they needed another intermediate click in the knee extension mechanism. Right now you either have it fully collapsed or massive gaping hole in the leg. I swear the VF-19's had an extra click that let you make it a little taller without making the knee too ugly.
-
I honestly can't think of a reason why you wouldn't be able to get that screw out.
-
all the joints that people tend to complain about getting loose on the VF-25 (shoulders, ankles, hips) are super easy to get to and fix.
-
This. the VF-25 has conceptually the same ankles as the VF-19. they're both ball joints with an extra hing in the leg to give greater range of motion on one axis. but the VF-25 puts the hing in a direction that actually benifits gerwalk poses so you don't have to over-stress the ball joint itself. bandai also put the screws that hold together the two halves of the metal ball socket that makes up the core of the foot much higher up so they actually apply some pressure around the ball itself which keeps the cup from splitting open if you push the joint too far. (the VF-19 has the screws way down on the extension that the feet halves attach to, nowhere near the ball socket). Further, on the VF/YF-19 ankle, friction in the ball joint is provided by a plastic hemisphere glued to the metal ball stem. the VF-25 uses an all metal ball with symmetrical plastic inserts in either socket half which provides much more consistent friction. finally, if and when the VF-25 ankles get loose it's an easy fix because the screws that hold the ankles together are easily accessible and not entrapped by pinned in foot pieces that are basically impossible to remove without properly sized center punches.
-
yeah, they're otherwise identical to the VF-19's ankles so the same process of loosening up the ankle enough to pop the foot off the ball joint, re-gluing the plastic part of the ball joint, coating the inside of the socket in something to add friction and then putting the whole thing back together. it's a pain in the ass to do though. basically, the VF/YF-19 ankle is a conceptually good idea that is executed in the single most obnoxiously bad way possible.

honestly, I don't think I've ever seen a Japanese PVC figure constructed like that. the only time you see that is on porcelain/resin statues because they're brittle.

They're worse on mine than on the VF-19, but at least they're easier to take apart. the feet come apart with one screw without having to break apart any glued pieces and the entire ankle assembly can be pulled out of the leg without breaking anything or doing anything to take apart the leg.

I liker her. her face, boobs and butt are better than the Yamamoto. I'm a little disappointed in the final color/finish though; I was hoping the medium purple on her torso would be shinier and more metallic. as is it's just a sort of dull sheen.

I'm sure someone will find something to complain about either way.
-
Same here. For the right price I'd like maybe 5 bandai arms and another 3~5 with bases.
-
is it going to be $200?
-
so basically patlabor?
-
hehehe I like macross, but I also like boobs.

yeah, I generally avoid shops that require up-front payment, especially on something that's 10 months out. but I don't really have much of a choice since even BBTS with their $70 mark up is sold out. also even AE isn't taking any more orders for the sonico figure, and that's the one I really want right now. tiny bit of good news, HLJ did have Asmodeus available for cheaper than AmiAmi, and for once I actually have orders with HLJ close enough together to actually use private warehouse. http://www.hlj.com/product/ORC50762
