  1. RM++ Project: Mechanic: TF NUNS 01B: Macross Frontier: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#TMF - yay! Gyro-bike. [sarcasm doesn't translate into text well, eh?] History M 03A: SDF-1 Macross Space Launch Ceremony: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRhistory/MCRhistory.php#SDFM - some interesting stuff on the city.
  2. The lack of acceptance for DYRL was probably due to the muddled international distribution rights (as in: nobody knows). In other words - they know that adding English subs will have some sort of increase on direct international sales, but there is no way of knowing what overseas legal challenges will arise with DYRL. So, they erred on the side of caution and opted not to add the subs to that release.
  3. 1. VF-19E/F/S 2. VF-5000 3. VB-6 Reasons are: 1) neat, well balanced evolution of the VF, but what really gets me is the economy of line in the Macross 7 rendition of the VF-19 design. VF design never got better than this level of craftsmanship and eloquence. 2) sleek and internalized weapons. It's the perfect upgrade to the VF-1, without being over the top like the AVF, nor diving into the deep end of munchkinism like the YF-24 and its decedents do (+ the YF-30). 3) lots of respect for Kawamori-san for fitting a Destroid Monster GERWALK mode into a space shuttle. THIS is where one can see the extent of his creative genius. That said, I always go back to the VF-1, 'cuz it was the first and is STILL the most realistic looking (heh, if transforming jets can be considered realistic).
  4. RM+ Project: Character: Ai UN 03A: Roy Fokker: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRcharacter/MCRcharacter.php#DYRL Character: D7 Citizen 06A: The People Of Planet Zola: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRcharacter/MCRcharacter.php#MD7 - some insight on the Cat-snakes Mechanic: Ai UN 03A: VF-1A Valkyrie: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#DYRL - ... and the elusive VF-1J's appearance in DYRL
  5. Mechanic: All 02A: Size Comparison: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#all - ... and with an exact clarification of the Kerukaria's size.
  6. RM++ Project: TF01A & B: Macross F Theatrical Edition ~The Wings Of Goodbye~: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#TMF - nice balance between real and in-universe facts. Also, if you're wondering what the connection between Macross and Tezuka Osamu was (like I was), then one of the topics will clear it up.
  7. Thanks! I'm going to leave the last name as Blackstone as it better conveys the Ishiguro pun, doesn't look like a typo, and is consistent with the [shojiro] Ishibashi/Bridgestone transposition.
  8. RM++ Project: Episode: M21A: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross Eps. 21 "Micro Cosmos": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#SDFM - more inside jokes revealed. One of the topics also highlights how much Shammy was changed in the Macross The First manga.
  9. And the full (sans legalese) translation of the questionnaire: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRseriesguide/Questionnaire46.php The images that MacrossCN posted pertain to question 11.
  10. Complete (well all, sans the legalese): Questionnaire #46: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRseriesguide/MCRseriesguide.php#SerGui - some of the questions are ...odd (at least to my Western sensibilities), and there's at least one answer that drew a laugh. Hope it helps the overseas members in submitting it back to the publisher.
  11. Great Mechanics.DX 27 Loads of goodies on Gundam Build Fighters, Yamato, Code Giasu, Gundam UC. Some neat glimpses at Nobunaga The Fool (both final and at least 1 of Kawamori's line art pieces) - along with the first interview with him this issue. Majestic Prince - lots of lineart that looks very reminiscent of Kazutaka Miyatake. Does anyone know who is doing the designs for this series? Macross content: Kawamori interview on the YF-30, titled: "The YF-30 was the next generation VF after all!?" - intriguing title. Wish I could get around to it before the end of 2014... (swamped with MC these days). No new images or tangible stats for the YF-30, but we get some closeups of the Lego transformation, and some preliminary schematic views of the fighter form (3.6 pages) After a third-page ad for the Macross F Zentoramori Blu-Ray Box, there's a 4 page article on the Hasegawa VF-25F. DEFINITELY looks better than the Bandai kits. Anyhow, the cover of the mag is full of win:
  12. RM++ Project: Timeline 36A: The Macross Levitates (Plus): http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRtimeline/MCRtimeline.php - some interesting insight. Especially how long it took to finish the restoration of the Macross. Zoinks!
  13. RM++ Project: History M 07B: First Contact: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRhistory/MCRhistory.php#SDFM - some more on the not-total-lack of Zentraadi repair/maintenance skills. Interesting.
  14. RM++ Project: Gallery 7: Macross 7 #47: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRgallery/MCRgallery.php#M7 - not much as always... Mechanic: 7 UN 01A: Macross 7: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#M7 - quite light on detail, though the caption from D7 does provide something noteworthy.
  15. RM++ Project: Episode: 7 30A: Macross 7 Eps. 30 "The Formal Love Triangle .": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#M7 - a lot of stuff on G forces this time... and it begs the question: is Basara's apparent resistance an affect of his manifestation of spiritia? Episode: M20A: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross Eps. 20 "Paradise Lost": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#SDFM - a bit more on the Zentraadi culture of repair. It comes across like they know how to do it at a certain level, but don't know when they have to do it. The ultimate consumer culture?
  16. Complete! Mechanic: All 01A: VF Masterpieces Seen From Their Development Ancestry (VF-1 Series): http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#all - this sheet is mega! In short, it puts the VFs from the VF-0 to the VF-11 in context with each other. Not to mention including (what little is known) of the VF-X-2, VF-X-3, VF-5, SV-52 and the briefly shown or mentioned VF-1B, VF-1X++, Manufacturing Valkyrie and Patrol Corps. MUST read.
  17. RM++ Project: Mechanic: Zero UN 05A HWR-00-MkIP Monster (Advance Prototype Model): http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#M0 - some highlights. Most interesting is the hints on the fate of the Destroid Monster series. Timeline 35A: The Truth Of Seven Years Ago (Plus): http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRtimeline/MCRtimeline.php - the RMs are a tour-de-force this time. Must reads.
  18. RM++ Project: History 7 08A: The Battle Of Planet Rax: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRhistory/MCRhistory.php#M7 - It provides a couple of important details that weren't readily apparent in the subs I saw (though that could be because they were lost in translation). Interesting stuff.
  19. I can't say for certain with voice actors, but there is definitely a lot of restrictions on the social activities of idols. In short - they have to retain their pure, virgin image, and anything that breaks with that (and some other taboo activities) will cause some sort of scandal that'll most likely have a negative effect on their future career. As the article in the OP said that she's curtailing her singing activities, it's clear that she's taking a step back from being an idol (ergo, breaking away from all the taboo things) and not a voice actor (which I sense has a lot less restricted activities). So, I agree that she's most likely in a serious relationship, and I am left pondering the significance of the end-of-March date. Will something starting showing soon after, or is it a hard and fast contractual engagement?
  20. RM++ Project: Episode: M 00C: "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross The List Of Mechanic/Character In Each Episode.": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#SDFM - the most retardest sheet Mechanic: 7 UN 08B: VF-17 Nightmare: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#M7 - some interesting changes, especially the inclusion of D7 material.
  21. No! Stop the blasphemy or Bearguy gets a speaker-pod in the back! The first bearguy was awesome sauce that doesn't need to be fixed!
  22. People who are, apparently, not buying the magazine, as those sheets have all but disappeared. Re: #46 This issue has the most awesomenest rendition of a Destroid Monster*, the absolute most retarded sheet ever**, and a questionnaire***. * yeah, squish Hibiki ** an episode sheet detailing all of the key (or main) mecha and characters that appeared in each episode of SDFM. Just look at the individual episode sheets, gollygoshdarnit already! *** on the one hand, it gives the impression that Daegostini is running out of ideas of what to do with the extra pages in the remaining issues (especially when combined with the aforementioned most retarded sheet ever), on the other hand, it includes questions asking about interest in a Macross DVD periodical (as in a magazine about episodes with a DVD of those episode included with it for "all 136 episodes" and a Macross Fighter Collection periodical (with 1/100 scale fighter mode VFs included with each issue).
  23. RM++ Project: Episode: 7 29A & B: Macross 7 Eps. 29 "Papa And Mama Love A Second Time.": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#M7 - some good details added to the mythos that aren't limited to only M7.
  24. DeAgostini's Revised Ed. of MC, of course! The 'VF Masterpieces Seen From Their Development Ancestry (VF-1 series)' sheet [which I just started working on tonight] from a couple of issues back is another sign that the publication has moved greatly toward targeting the hardcore (techie) demographic.
  25. Re: #49 cover It's a beautiful rendition. That said, I really get the impression that this series is 'for fans only'.
