What he said. Let's also not forget that the majority of people involved in the pre-SWI construction of the VF-0 and VF-1 were obliterated along with the rest of the population of Earth. So, even with the same company name, the company structure would've been radically different. I have yet to see anything in Japanese that states that the YF-24 is a Shinsei Industry manufactured VF. Where'd that info come from? -

It was late last night when I finished translating and got around posting. Not sure where the 10 came from... numbers on the brain from all the stats??? -

Just so everyone knows, it's not laziness on my part that the stats aren't written with the O in ROV with the accent (Ö). It's the way the article was written. I just wished there was a handy way to input the Greek letters that is visible to everyone. 僕は日本語のWinを使ってるから皆と別のIMがある。。。 -

Me, too. I'm guessing the 25 mm guns are the fuselage (wing root/hip) guns, and the 35 mm are the outboard engine nacelle guns. Me, too. Perhaps it's in reference to the weapon having an explosive nature when it hits something? Some kind of explosive energy charge that goes off when an outer layer of protective energy disappates or hits something? -

I should note that buried in the text of the article it mentions that the VF-25 is piloted by an EX-Gear wearing pilot, and the VF-27 is piloted by a cyborg. Though, this is just from glancing at it, and there's probably a bunch of disclaimers or modifiers. No mention of the knife. Maybe it's only in the super and armour packs? One other thing to consider is that the magazine article's stats are not the be all, end all. They are just the first. I noticed something that I am tempted to call a typo in the VF-27 stats, but I think it may just be best to call them inconsistences with the VF-25 stats. Almost as if a different author wrote them... (in short, it looked like "(...) beam machinegun x2.35 mm beam machinegun (...)", when the VF-25 stats would state "(...) beam machinegun x2, 35 mm beam machinegun (...)". Lastly, grss1982, as the stats are subject to being edited again (further proofreading), it'd be best if you wouldn't quote them here. -

VF-25? Head laser. Oops. It appears that I competely missed the head weapon: 20 mm beam gun (ROV-20) x1 So, that should be 1 AA/head weapon, 2 fuselage beam guns, 2 engine nacelle beam guns, 4 internal missile launchers, and the big beam/grenade cannon. -

Gah... reread it and man, it must be late (03:44 AM) as there was a piss-load of typos. Should be all fixed now. "That's 4 micro-missile launchers on the '27, son". -

Dammit! I'm pretty certain that I typed in that N!!! Yuppers, that's 1,620 KiloNewtons x2 and 1,377 Kilo Newtons x4. Translations are as per the info in the article. One said "fold booster", the other said "super fold booster." Perhaps they are different from the able-to-by-pass fold disruptions type? -

Duke, I think that was the metaphor that they were striving for in this episode. That, and the hive-like, every one has a specialized role, nature of the Vajra. -

Great Mechanics.DX 10 came out. Picked it up, and was blown away by their VF-25 vs VF-27 article. Why? Hard and fast stats on the VF-25 and the VF-27!!! Translation of the stats: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/inde...ic=1934.new#new There is a bunch more to the article, and there is at least a paragraph or two devoted to the ISC. Sadly, I don't have any more time to translate the article (too busy with RL, and my translating plate is full of Macross Chronicle). What's surprised me is that the VF-25 doesn't have any internal (micro) missile launchers. Where the heck did those missiles come from in episode one?!?! -

Ah, but: http://www.macrossf.com/character/chara10.html However either it or the series is in error, as they appear to contradict each other. Link: 新統合政府大統領。 Series (Eps 01, 15:00): フロンティア大統領府。 Though generally in these sorts of things, the series takes precedent . -

One thing that I don't think has been mentioned so far regarding the political leadership of the New UNG or Frontier is how big of a change it is from the past: (from the Compendium Timeline) Pre-SWI: Prime Minister Post SWI: UN Chairperson (unclear if the position of Prime Minister still exists or has been replaced by this position) Macross Frontier: NUNG President Going just by the names used, it appears that there has been a change from a parliamentary democracy (somewhat akin to the Japanese Diet) to something akin to the UN of the real world (representatives of different nationstates meeting under the aegis of a meeting leader) to a President-led republic. OF course, it could all be one and the same, and similar to a Semi-presidential system, like they have in France; with a president, prime minister, and a UN Chairperson. At this time, without more details, it's still all guesstimates after a certain point. -

He was the President. Now, the real question is: how different is the New UN Government from the UN Government? Or even - is the NUNG a breakaway from the UNG? Until we get some more information on the actual size and scope of the New UN Government, we may as well consider NUNG to be limited to the Frontier fleet only! -

To answer that question, you also have to answer how all the other VFs are able to move, let alone fly. The short answer is: anime magic. If it's used in the series, it's definitely available for fanfic stuff based off of the series. The more I look at it, the more I think it's a Masamune Shirow piece of artwork. Not that he'd design something with so many straight edges or anything... -
Is this a joke? I can't tell if it's being said sarcastically. Why? Macross F has the President of the New UN Government on the Macross Frontier fleet, light years away from the center of the territory that is under his leadership. (By this, I mean the area centered on Earth, and am presuming that territories brought into the UN Government occured relatively equally in all directions from Earth.)

Aside from it being in a different line style than Shouji Kawamori usually uses... aside from the Appleseed's briareos head... the "it's not real" sinker is the stats text. How many Macross F VF's have that??? -
Maybe, maybe he retired, got married, had kids, and died a happy grandpa (or great grandpa). Or maybe he left in search of Hikaru, Misa, and co when he learned they were lost - which happened the same year that he became the UN Spacy Commander.

No. Too small, given the size of the other two dimension eater devices that we've seen so far. -
I second Gubaba. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it's not in Kawamori Shouji Design works (VF-0A and VF-0S). In addition, the scan RedWolf posted is from the liner notes of MO eps. 01 and is of the VF-0A. The VF-0B is a two-seater (based off of the art on pg 14 in "Tenjin Hidetaka Art Works of Macross" (box art for the 1/72 kit).

Daikon and chikuwa soup/stew. Simple to make (water, daikon, chikuwa, katsuo (katsuobushi) and soya sauce to taste. Simple and hearty. Simple and not easily screwed up is probably the reason why Sheryl opted to make it (though she still ended up slicing open a finger.) Says a lot about her cooking skills, eh? -

Close to what he said. There are two kanji in there that are too blurry to read (anyone hear of legible scans???) Basically it means: Leg/engine part The part as seen from the outside (contains an illegible kanji, but this is what the rest of it says.) Opens and shuts by the actuator. The bottom is of the other side {inside} of the leg armour, and in the middle {center} of it is a distributed {illegible} type (of fuel) tank. Gah! THe software be thinking that my square brackets are BB Code!?! -

Uhm... all good things come to an end? You know, if they keep flogging and harping it along, it'll turn really, really sucky. Like a bunch of English sitcoms, dramas and sci-fi shows that are on long past their best before date. Fresh, original, and short. Works most every time. -

Actually... in a way, I'm lucky in that I didn't see the original until after the remake. Despite the limited budget costums and campy nature (or perhaps because of it?), the original is infinitely better. Perhaps it's the same problem as the remake of Charlie and the Chocolate factory? Too much time and attention spent on making the special effects look right, and not enough time spent on the writing and characters??? Anyhow, that snap of Aruto and the new planet looks groovy. On the Vajra planet???
