No. Refer to Macross Chronicle Worldguide 13a. There are only 4 classes of Super Long Range Emmigration Ship shown: Macross Class Megaroad Class New Macross Class Island Cluster Class These are published facts, BTW.

11 looks more like an Island Cluster type, rather than a New Macross type.

Macross Frontier Series Discussion Thread *READ 1st Post*

Many questions, but some may be resolved when a sub is released. Some may have been lost in translation, or may have been answered outside of the series (magazines, interviews, etc.). No matter what, you are right in saying that the editors don't want a fanboy review. Just make sure you don't forget to add that despite the flaws, you enjoyed it as per your earlier post Though, I think the Galaxy City ship, last seen floating in an asteroid field, was deliberately left there, perhaps to protect the citizens, or... and having just had a chance to watch the episode, I think Grace and Burera have a telling dialogue. Specifically how the Vajra are of one mind, and Grace and her Galaxy Consortium (or whatever it's called) also are of one mind (did y'all notice the other "people" floating inside cyberspace along with Grace?) My impression is that she/they were acting on the "you're (literally) with us (as one), or against us". Therefore, given Burera's revulsion at being (mind) controlled, I suspect that a good chunk of the civilian populace in City Galaxy was also being (mind) controlled. Sadly, I think the Vajra may just be a plot device... the ultimate McGuffen... but hey, isn't that what OTEC is in SDF:M? -
There's nothing to indicate that the M11 fleet was anywhere near the M25 fleet nor even in the same sector of space. As they included Earth (Macross city), the impression that I have is that the Vajra were able to fold (and/or were already present) in most of the areas occupied and colonized by humans/the NUNS. Given that a human was guiding them, they could very well have folded to all publicly known and some top secret human settlements/ships/fleets.

For all those complaining about the pace of the last episode: Maybe Macross F was only ever designed to be one of those set-up with medium sized payoffs sprinkled throughout kinds of shows. You know, the ones where the conclusion is not really as important as the ride that the viewer is taken on up until the ending? Given the number of deculture moments and cliffhangers, I think the final episode is a perfect end to the series. Yeah, there was a lot of ground that needed to be touched on, but just think: it could be a lot worse if they spread it over more than one episode. Macross F has always been about quantity of story elements, and it's never been about flogging story elements that have overstayed their welcome.

We'll have to wait and see if the Chronicle puts out any info on the "Megalord". Until then: The "Megalord" was never used as a colony ship (Macross, Megaroad, New Macross , and Island Cluster are the only one's listed in Chronicle.) In addition to being tried and tested, the Macross class would be easier to reproduce in the Factory Satellite as it's based on a Supervision Army ship; and as the ASS-1 class is already in the Factory Satellite's databanks (after all, the Supervision Army used captured Protoculture and Zentraedi ships), it's be easier to modify those existing plans than create/input new ones from scratch for an untried and untested design. But that's just me, at this time, given the information available and the circumstances of the era that the Megalord class would most likely be produced in. -

The text of the add says: "Macross F Theatrical Edition Start" With the double orange rings. Refrence to how much they've completed? Bobby's main gun charging? A secret message indicating the month and date of release? -
Singing in the theatrical movie CM? Sheryl. Otherwise, everyone and I think I heard a voice actor from one of the previous series when they were talking about how the Vajra came from another galaxy and communicated through song. Mao? Minmei? Can't place it (though, it could of been one of the regular singers... late airtime slot for Macross F plays tricks at times.)

Seconded. No idea the content, nor release date. -
Bwahahaha! Holy crap. It was go from even before the start. I thought it was an episode recap... and straight into the fireworks. Aruto surviving and getting back in the VF-25 was no surprise. After that, it was all surprise. Main cannons firing mid-defold (I guess they can do that), Ghost fighters performing at M+ levels, Daedalus attack, battle class on battle class action. Galaxy spanning battles and a healthy does of M0 and Minmei?! I think the conclusion to the love triangle was pretty sweet and realistic. Though, the way I understood it is: during the battle, the pair said that they'd be friends and put the love of Aruto behind them. At them end, Ranka says to Sheryl that she won't lose, at song, dance and (doesn't directly say it, but implies Aruto.) And what does that leave the door wide open to? The Theatrical edition! Yay. Coming soon to a theatre near you... in Japan.

Didn't it appear in the start of M7, too? Anyhow, the point of my confusion was the use of both classes of ship. Though someone else pointed out that the Space Destroyer (which has the Megalord) is as the UN Spacy was in 2009, before both SWI and the change of the SDF-1 from Megalord to Megaroad. I'm still mid-translation of the Chronicle article (in fact almost finished the SDF-1 Macross episode and about to start the Megaroad section), and I'm sure that will clarify things, somewhat. Though, I'm still a bit confused why the Megalord image was used... as the other article specifically states that it's the SDF-1 Macross design which is copied, not the Megalord one.

It's about the RL concert. Nothing to do with the series per se. -

49 is most likely a typo. Reason being: 最終回(第25話)「アナタノオト」 http://tv.yahoo.co.jp/program/3531/?date=2...525&ch=8410 And Newtype October 2008: 最終回 9/25 and from http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%9E%E3%...83%AD%E3%82%B9F 全25話予定 -

Ok. We were approaching it from different angles (absolute and minimalist power used/available). Yes, the Japanese specifically states "thermonuclear turbine engine". -

Good theory. Perhaps it's not so much the excess energy being diverted to other uses, but the engine not being run at max output all the time. Perhaps the VF-19 and VF-22 were pushing themselves to maintain Mach 5.0+ at 10,000 m, but the VF-25 and VF-27 do that without breaking a sweat. Perhaps they're the in-universe equivalent of super cruise taken to the Nth degree? -
SDF-1 is a Macross class vessel. There are more of this class of vessels produced. SDF is a designation - super dimension fortress, which at first appears to have switched with a battleship/gunship, but has really stayed with emmigration ships, until the SDF was retired when the New Macross Class Super Long Range Colony Ships were introduced. Make sense?

The whole "Galactic Whale" thing was done in Macross 7 Dynamite. Macross F's Vajra is an entirely different theme. (Private Military Forces, attacking a foreign culture that is only reacting to aggression. Good guys forced into action by a third power and a political power grab as a result. Sound like the SDF's mission to Iraq and subsequent fallout back home, anyone?) -
ah, but who's to say that it was a retcon? From my experience, English speaking Macross fans have focused on the Super Long Range Emmigration Fleets, and have ignored the short range emmigration fleets, despite information on them being readily available in the timeline on the Compendium. A short range emmigration fleet discovered Eden after all, and that's not a retcon.

I've already taken them out... By page number (bottom left or right): The destroyer is 03-06 (issue 3 page 6?) the SDF-1 is 02-02

I was just glancing at Theatrical Macross Special Preview (in regards to another thread), and I noticed the name of this guy: Macross 2 Warship "Megaroad" Interesting, because Perfect Memory refers to it as: SDF-2 Megalord. (Note English in right side of the upper image) As MP is printed 1983.10, and Theatrical Macross Special Preview was 1984.07, does this mean that it is called "Macross 2"?
