  1. Do you have Shoji Kawamori Macross Design Works, Kazutaka Miyatake Macross and Orguss Design Works, or Kawamori Shoji Design Works? All of those are dedicated specifically to the rough drawings, brainstorming and the whole creative process behind all of Macross up until M0. Also, Theatrical Macross Special Preview also contains a couple of pages of the "missed" rough drawings from SDF:M. In addition to the SDF-2.
  2. What's really got me scratching my head, in regards to this, is in Macross Chronicle: On the SDF:M Space Destroyer page: both "Warship SDF-1 Macross (1 ship)" AND "Warship SDF-2 Megaroad (1 ship)" (this being the SDF-2 image) On the DYRL SDF-1 page: SDF-1 followed by SDF-2 (the Megaroad Colony Ship). Are the publishers of Macross Chronicle opting to seperate and distinguish the DYRL - FB2012 designs completely from the SDF:M cannon? What's even more confusing is that on the Super Long Range Emmigration Colony Fleet page, there is talk about the SDF-1 (not SDF-2 design) being mass produced (or was it copied a lot?) and used as emmigration ships, especially for Short Range Emmigration Colony Fleets and exploration missions! (More on that later, once I completely finish the translation. Check the Macross Chronicles page for info, in the near future.)
  3. Uhm... none of this is big, shocking news (at least not for those of us that already have it). I suggest you stay away from the rough drawings and other brainstorming at the tail end of the book, simply because they are not cannon and the are usually very good reasons why they were altered, reworked or rejected.
  4. Woah... this is truly deep. Is there any significance to September? Other than 8 days later being October 3rd, the airdate of the first episode of SDF:M.
  5. It's like Hikaru calling Roy "big brother".
  6. Added translations of the connection between the VF-25 and VF-27, and the paragraph on the VF-171EX in the first post of http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/index.php?topic=1934 (Great Mechanics.DX 6 - MF article w/ VF-25 & VF-27 stats)
  7. Gah! More money going to go bye-bye. And I've already exceeded my book buying budget for this month!
  8. No, no, no. He was crushed by the collapse of the Studio Nue offices on South Ataria Island just after Hikaru Ichijo rammed through it in a transforming VF-1D. (Remember: TV series story, movie designs!)
  9. Different style battle class ship for a different style super long range emmigration city class ship? Sounds logical.
  10. My take is that he's wearing those earrings with the fold quartz. Therefore, he sees past the illusion, and sees the source - the Battle Galaxy which is transmitting the signal from the bound up (crucified?) Ranka. Whom, given the lack of life in her eyes (typical anime dull-eye/all colour & no black technique), is under the control (mind control?) of someone else. Which, IMHO, Aruto realizes and is about to do something about. And then Burera shows up. They fight. Aruto's VF-171EX is destroyed. I won't be surprised if next episode has Aruto busting inside the Battle Galaxy in his EX Gear to save Ranka.
  11. MBR (Main Battle Robot), ADR (Air Defence Robot), SDR (Space Defence Robot), & HWR (Heavy Weight Robot). See the Hobby Handbook for details, alternative models, and the Earth Trekkers.
  12. First half of the Character: M0 03a Anti-Unification Alliance Soldier sheet http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/index.php?topic=1941 Will try and post more later. Starting to get eye strain >.<
  13. Try the Macross Compendium first. For starters, it's officially sanctioned by the people behind Macross. Not to mention that most stats write-ups on Macross reference the Compendium. http://macross.anime.net/wiki/Megaroad_Class (or here, for the non-Wiki version: http://macross.anime.net/mecha/united_nati...s/Megaroad.html )
  14. Or... how much do the characters change and grow during the various series? How many costume changes do they have? How many story events do they have? For the most part, Basara is in a cockpit, singing; and Misa is at a control chair on the bridge. Minmei, on the other hand, had a lot more stuff to do. But... who says that the Basara and Misa sections are finished? Look at the SDF:M VF-1J. We thought that was finished at 3 pages. Looks like it'll grow to at least 5!
  15. Ah, but one must keep in mind that that Zentraedi fleet showed up after a bunch of battles that saw a bunch of M7 capital ships blown up real good. The statement may also have been taking the number of VFs and battlesuits in account as well. And then it may have just been good old artistic licence to make things seem more dramatic.
  16. I though I'd read it for a laugh. I closed it when I got to the line of maid cafes being available near LA and Canada. Whut the heck does that mean? That the border areas of Canada are rife with maid cafes??? Holy not doing research, Batman.
  17. Nor the cemetary ship. Nor the concert hall ship. Unless if we're due to get a 2nd page on the fleet, and/or the casino ship (and others) was left off because it's considered minor.
  18. For all the people hoping for a lengthened last episode: http://tv.yahoo.co.jp/listings/?detail=1&a...mp;starttime=25 or http://tv.yahoo.co.jp/program/3531/?date=2...525&ch=8410 Macross F 01:25 to 01:55. The regular time slot.
  19. The VF-171 being easier to fly than the VF-17 comes from official text on the VF-171. I can't remember if I've seen cheaper to produce. But the VF-17 is definitely cheaper than the AVF. The VF-171 rectified the VF-17's poor atmospheric performance. The VF-171 is also the successor of the VF-11. See the cannon text on the VF-171 for further information (though you might have to do some translations from Japanese.)
  20. Ah... but this is Macross we're talking about. The sad truth is that the vast majority of details that us fans want to see, are never created (or never released to the public.)
  21. Partial translation of the last bottom third of Worldguide 17a: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/index.php?topic=1938.0 I've finished another page (Soldiers of the Anti-UN) and am in the midst of a third page (Super Long Range Emmigration). HOpefully I'll be able to find them time to type them up...
  22. If you're big on characters, magazine art, and a story digest with colour pictures, it's a great book (magazine?). If you're looking for mecha pictures, and (especially) mecha statistics, look elsewhere. Also has a list of famous lines/quoted dialogue from the first 17 episodes. Macross history (brief, and both in RL and in series), Q&A on Macross in general, Macross F single and album releases, songs per episode (which OP, ED and any songs played during), Macross series song history (1 to 3 of the major songs per each series), Macross Ace Frontier (VF-25, VF-72, VF-1 transformation, Strike VF-1S, YF-19, VF-19 Kai, AND which songs from which series included in the game), interview with Shoji Kawamori and Macross F goods (Bandai VF-25, straps, cards, Satelite keitai something or other site). Official File 2 release date: 2008.11.07 (Friday), A4 size, 630 yen (tax included). The magazine artwork looks positively beautiful. It's great to see that stuff without blocking out part to most of it. Though, all but one of them come from Animedia...
  23. You know, the R.I.P. (or RIP) may just be someone on the staff messing with us English fans.
  24. That's easy to answer: until the VF-171EX, none of the VF-171 "Vampire Plus" had EX-Gear (unless if you believe the novelization is more accurate than the anime).
