About the Macross Chronicles
sketchley replied to Isamu test pilot's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Fixed. It's basically a combination of market price + shipping (most stuff takes a boat) + brokerage fees + customs fees (taxes, tariffs, etc.) + a whole additional layer of middle men (wholesaler/distributer/retailer & all the shipping between them). -

Ah, but keep in mind that the VF-17 has engine nacelle weapon pallets yet we don't see them in the animation. As I said before, I won't be surprised if later VF-25 stats mention weapon pallets. Also, you seem to have missed my point that since the VF-25's legs are larger there should be as much, if not more space in them compared to earlier VFs. Yes, it could be eaten up by additional fuel cells, as I know what the text next to the image says (translated it. Check another thread for the translation). -

IMHO, there are weapon pallets (erm, what's the new term used in Chronicle? "Multi-weapon Bay") in the lower legs/engine nacelles. Before anyone discounts this, keep in mind that the VF-25's body (thus internal space in the legs) is larger than the majority of the preceeding VFs. In addition, ALL VFs from the VF-5000 onwards have either an internal micro-missile launcher or a weapon pallet in the lower legs/engine nacelles. I won't be surprised if a later published VF-25 stats includes them. Though, with some of the VF's, one has to look closely at Shoji Kawamori's notes on the lineart (VF-11D Kai's engine nacelle super part contained weapon pallet and reverse firing micro-missile launcher, etc.). Here's hoping that we get the release of VF-25 and VF-27 lineart like the good ol' days in a This is Animation format. -

Less than doubling of the price for an import into North America? Sounds like a good deal. In the end, you're only going to be paying about a hundred more than us locals. Which is a good chunk less than a price doubling. -
Bristly, aren't we?

Are you refering to the B-Club Special "Period"? There's not much on the VF-1 at all. Looks more like a gag strip on how to make the kit. Not surprisingly as B-Club is a modeling magazine the last I checked.

http://www.answers.com/topic/red-herring http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/redherring Neither mention plot lines and both mention distractions. Is having grandma Mao show up important to the main story? For me, no. It's a distraction, on which we've spent far too much time on. Ergo, a red herring to me. (As this opinion based discussion on the relevance, or lack thereof, of a relationship between the two major characters in the two series will most likely continue ad nauseam, unless some new facts are presented, I've moved on.) -

I'm not conceeding the point. In fact, I feel that you missed my point. You feel certain revelations are important to the main plot, and I don't. Thus, red herring. -

Why the attitude, Bsu? Not everyone reads the same dictionary nor has the same exposure to all the potential definitions of a word. -

You guys have heard of the "red herring", right? As for Sheryl's lack of reaction during the movie - she was traumatized at a young age with the death of her parents and became an orphan on the streets. Makes sense for her to have blocked out those memories to the point that hearing her parent's names or the family name and history has no effect on her. From a writers point of view, the character became demanding to the writers! -
They live in a parallel dimension. That, and a lack of a *real* job. (sorry, couldn't resist ) Feel the same as Graham at the moment... >.<

It's a common young-boys' school uniform here. It also means that he doesn't have any nicer clothes than his school uniform AND he has no sense of fashion/style/taste in clothes. -

VF-1's, and presumably all the others, have a radar array in the head unit. Sure, it's not as large and probably not as powerful as the one in the nose cone, but hey, it's not like the VF-1's battroid mode was designed expressly for firing ordinance at distant ranges.

Like this: http://studiootaking.deviantart.com/art/VF-5-62767743 Transformation: http://studiootaking.deviantart.com/art/VF...mation-62766890 Random notes: this was designed for a mini-VF-5 design competition in Macross World. It was designed the way it was because of the Compendium's description of the VF-5: http://macross.anime.net/mecha/united_nati.../vf5/index.html (Namely: Mission inspiration: Northrop F-5E Tiger II & Specification inspiration: Convair XF2Y Sea Dart + LANDING GEAR: Sea-landing capability to accomodate planets with water over most of their surface.) Extrapolating from that design process, I'd say that Kawamori Shouji picks a base real-world fighter, assigns a mission role and then starts figuring out the basic what-battroid-part-goes-where-in-fighter-mode. Then it's all finessing the design to look cool.

It ends where the series begins (the song princess Sheryl comes to the 25th SLREF). It doesn't include the events of the series. -

Maybe they have less to fear than the other side?* Or maybe it has to do with the type of person that Ranka and Sheryl appeal to. I'm no psychologist, but I feel that Sheryl being more edgy, but a lot more risky; whereas Ranka is a lot safer? * I'm pro neither side! Aruto got his first love - the sky! BWahahaha!
