  1. And how exactly is your not having a job Yamato's problem?
  2. And how does making more products improve things for the company? I believe someone already addressed this earlier. Given the available information, they are producing the quantity that the market can take at the price the market is willing to buy at. Producing more would mean a loss - both in additional funds spent on storage, and the cutting off their noses despite their face when they have to liquidate the excess stock.
  3. They're expensive here. Very expensive. The average part-timer gets a starting wage of ¥725. How many hours do they have to work to save up enough for one of these toys? (Ignoring taxes for the moment.)
  4. The Binder: went to two different bookshops. Both had 1 binder each on sale. Both are exactly the same as the first binder. I'm not entirely certain if they are "new" binders or overstoke from the first binder being sold. Issue #11: stickers came with it. Along with Mechanic sheet SDFM UNS Pg 09 統合軍車両. At first I thought it was an error. On the back of the cover, in the bottom left, it basically says that the sheet released in issue 9 is in error. The number was wrong. It's really SDFM UNS Pg 19 統合軍車両. It then goes on to say how apologetic they are, and that the correct sheet should be exchanged for the incorrect one, and to please keep lovingly reading Macross Chronicle. Was this our first confirmed error? Re: two binder filing instructions (follow or use your own): There are two types of stickers, normal type and Zentraedi character [letter]. Use the sticker you prefer. Binder 1: Mechanic sheet & Character Sheet. Binder 2: Timeline sheet, history sheet, technology sheet, worldguide sheet, special sheet (gallery, song, goods, making, & extra)
  5. I'm using Firefox. It saves the password, but I'm forced to log in every time I attempt to access the boards. Mind you, it could have something to do with my network connection - it changes the IP every time I access the fibre optic...
  6. Ah - forgot to add: the wikipedia article states that the VF-4 is equal (in thrust, I believe) to a VF-1 with FAST packs, but has better performance/manueverability as it doesn't have the weight of the packs.
  7. Try here: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%A9%E3%...83%BC%E3%82%BA) I've been poking at it for RPG stats and I noticed some interesting, previously unknown info on the VF-4 in there. Also, the latest issue of Model Graphix states that the VF-4 has six (6!) engines. 2x thermonuclear turbine engines 2x rocket engines 2x ramjets (!!! I'm tempted to think that it's an error. But it would explain the inner wing root intakes and gaps in their rears)
  8. Look to Macross Chronicle's timeline. I have this question: how many times are the Sv-51 seen launching and/or stored in the sub? I've got a hunch that it's far less then the number of times they were deployed in combat. Also, why would they be equipped with drop tanks in that episode when a whole wing of them attacked the UN fleet? If they were deployed from the sub, wouldn't they a) not need drop tanks and b) fly in low to avoid radar?
  9. And how exactly is that different from other markets? I worked in a manufacturing company in North America, and the product went out like this: manufacturer -> shipping -> wholesaler -> shipping -> distributor -> shipping -> retailer. There are not many cases in most every country where items skip the wholesaler and/or distributor stages. And I don't think it's been mentioned that there are import taxes. As a luxury product, I'm sure that your non-Japanese country's customs officers are charging a higher percentage on these items. So, yeah, as Graham said, Yamato is only making ¥1,000 or ¥2,000 per item, but as they are being exported/imported, you guys are giving money to the ship (or plane, for you richer MWers) across the ocean, customs, brokers, and distributors, shippers, and retailers in your country. Kudos for propping up the economy!
  10. I was thinking about that and, again, it's possible to detect the slowing Sv-51 and there entering into the water, if not also their underwater movements. IMHO, Ivanov had reached the "you've got just enough fuel to fly back to base" point when he disengaged.
  11. Been thinking about this and... the sub isn't meant to recover aircraft. We know that the Anti-UN Alliance doesn't have a base on Mayan Island and that they fielded vehicles other than the Sv-51 in the battle (Octos, Su-27, helicopter), therefore an Anti-UN fleet present nearby is evident (the closest being just over the "horizon", outside of the long range defenses of the UN fleet). The sub is also designed for stealth operations. During retrevial operations it would attract a lot of attention to itself - not only must it surface and engage in a bunch of noisy activities, the deaccelerating and hovering Sv-51 would be spotted (by at least the VF-0, if not other UN equipment). Such an action goes directly against the stealth needed to keep the sub in theatre. Therefore, the Sv-51 would land normally on Anti-UN support ships in the fleet, and be transferred to the sub after the sub had retreated back to the fleet; maximum stealth and minimal additional equipment needed.
  12. And what nonsensical thread would be complete without:
  13. Gubaba's already started. I started on the Mechanic M7 fleet ('cuz it looks "small").
  14. That area in the Sv-51 is small. I think it looks too small for a mounting point - as right after it is the head unit and it's related equipment most likely buried in the section being discussed. Mind you, with Macross and the possibility of applying SWAG energy conversion to strengthen the Otec materials, it's also highly probably that the area can handle any hooking and hoisting stress.
  15. Finished Mechanic: SDF:M, UNS 09a: Military Vehicles. Still typing up WorldGuide: 13a Super Long Range Emmigration Fleet 超長距離移民船団 here: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/inde...c=2017.msg28855 Translated but not typed up: Mechanic: SDF:M UNS 15a Space Destroyer 宇宙駆逐艦 Technology: 01a Variable Fighter バリアブルファイター. Mechanic Sheet: SDF:M, UNS 09a: Military Vehicles. 統合軍車両 I haven't decided what I'll start translating next... maybe the Mechanic M7 fleet or the Factory Satellite. Subsequent sheets I'm interested in translating: mechanic M7 UNS 9a Macross 7 Fleet mechanic SDF:M Zentraedi 10a Factory Satellite mechanic D7 UNS 01a VF-5000 History M7 02a Varuta Martial attack tech Variable fighter 1b tech Destroid 2a tech Super Long Range Emmigration Fleets worldguide 17a Macross 7 fleet
  16. These two statements are based on what facts? Have you seen the Harrier fly? Have you seen the F-35 fly? One uses both lift fans and vectored thrust, the other uses only vectored thrust. Both can slow to a stop, and hover over a spot. Sure, the Harrier has some problems with sucking in heated exhaust, (which the F-35 overcomes with the forward fans), but that's beside the point -> How can something that is proven in reality not apply to a ficticious plane utilizing similar technology? And a 5 sec internet search reveals this nice video of the F-35 using both lift flans and vectored thrust to vertically take off: http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=Xm7_PPE-8nk&...feature=related
  17. why would it fly aimlessly forward? It (the Sv-51) is the only VF equipped with forward fans (like the F-35) for VTOL in fighter mode. (In battroid mode, they end up behind the head, and act as backpack thrusters).
  18. That results in ” on my PC.
  19. Can we talk about Star Wars in a different forum or at least a different section of this forum? Star Wars and Macross are apples and oranges.
  20. So go with option a or b.
  21. And adding to MrMarch and hobbes221 support - the PN90's clip is a real world, working example with no anime magic or Otec. Re: the VF-17's gun pod, there's a slim possibility that it is a beam firing weapon, and not a bullet firing weapon. If it is a bullet firing weapon, I can see a variation of the PN90's 90 degree turn coupled with a belt or whatever the equivalent is in the GU-11.
  22. try using your laptop's FN (or whatever it's called) to access the number pad which normally gets buried in the regular QWERTY keyboard on a laptop.
  23. Taking a closer look at the P-90 may answer your question. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FN_P90 Why the P-90? It is simular: clip stored 90 degrees to the barrel, narrow clip, high rate of fire, etc..
  24. The VF-17 doesn't have internal missile bays. It has weapon pallets. From the animation, it looks like the VF-171 is only equipped with micro-missile launchers in the engine nacelles (legs).
  25. I've seen up to 50 mentioned somewhere - perhaps on the website for it? Nevertheless, if the publication remains popular, new Macross stuff is released, and things are spread out (a la the VF-1), then it could easily continue beyond 50. IMHO, 50 was tossed out when they first started publication. Things may have been changed given the popularity of the publication. (All I can see is that the publication is selling out. I do not know if that means if shops are ordering just enough to cover demand, or not enough to meet it.
