  1. It is focused more on the characters, but it does have a bunch of picts from the series (important character moments?), as well as the occasional piece of line art/still from the anime/coloured line art. I was surprised at the quantity of line art for locations in the book - but alas, the majority of it can be found in the two Movic books, and at much larger sizes at that!
  2. Ahh... going crosseyed from staring at small text and the PC screen, and interrupted by the baby. Sorry!
  3. see link in first post

  5. Basically a repeat of the majority of the info in Macross F Official File 1 & 2, and Macross F 2059: Memories. I'm not sure if any of the following is new, but it's info and stuff that I haven't seen anywhere else: info available here: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/index.php?topic=2077.0
  6. Got around to picking up the Newtype #2 (February 2009) issue. Re: the movie: Title: Macross F Theatrical Version (temporary (name)) Release: Planned for public release in 2009. Kinda underwhelming, eh?
  7. I've heard that, and I've also heard "SDF-1 story, DYRL designs".
  8. ??? as nice as that map looks, I'm afraid it has nothing to do with Macross. It doesn't even mention the Orion Arm... nor local spur. and something ON TOPIC: went through the timeline (again ... ) in the Compendium, and added all the entries to the work in progress (see link in first post). Even though the sector organization is completely arbitrary and has nothing to do with canon Macross, me thinks that I should reorganize things somewhat... say everything within 100 lightyears of Earth (aka virtually every planet that's been mentioned in Macross so far) in Sector 1?
  9. Hundreds? Why not thousands? Seriously. The article states that capable people (which we can presume are Max amd Miriya), were cloned and shipped out with every Super Long Range Emigration Fleet until the date that mass cloning stopped. Why not have one in every city or town on every colonized planet until that date? It's possible... and it raises some questions like: are the Max and Miriya that we saw in Macross 7 the *real* Max and Miriya, or just clones? Are the clones carbon copies, or is there some variety, like the sequences in Flashback 2012 hinted at? All of this is really a discussion for another thread...
  10. That's in a Chinese speaking country...
  11. That story arc was handled quite nicely in the novels. Mind you, that was stressed over 4 or 5 books. Not sure if it would even work in comic a mini-series.
  12. It doesn't specifically state that it was military personnel. I'm not disagreeing that military personnel were cloned. Just wish to point out that it's them AND others (scientists, wise-guys, professors, sexy women*, etc.). * a joke
  13. This article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robotech:_Pre...adow_Chronicles . phrases it as "written by Tommy Yune along with the Waltrip brothers, " Therefore, I'd put anything that is awful as down to the lead writer. The Waltrip brothers, when they are allowed to do their own thing, without interference, produce some great stuff (Genesis, Worlds, Sentinels (though the end of their run did start to get a bit "weird", it was also interesting in that it was quite different from the novels, original, and in a lot of the cases, a logical outcome of events in the series up until that point.)
  14. I don't think that the Waltrips' had anything to do with Prelude to Shadow Chronicles. If anything (and this is something that rankles with me), their work was swept away and removed from the timeline in order to make way for SC. >.<
  15. Ah! I remembered something... the kana used to describe the Space Destroyer class ships in the Megaroad Class fleets section was simple クラス, as opposed to 級, which is used with the Oberth Space destroyer. Therefore, me thinks that it's to point out that the space destroyer is either not the Oberth Class, or at least not the Oberth Class as we know it.
  16. The implications from the Macross Chronicle article is that there are probably a bunch more close-range colony fleets, but there scope is much, much smaller (a handful of converted ships, etc.). Which isn't surprising, given that they are for colonizing only within 100 light years of Earth (which is what? At most one or two days fold away?) Series, from Megaroad 1. For example, the Macross Frontier Fleet, the 25th large-scale Super Long Range Emigration Fleet, is also the 55th Super Long Range Emigration Fleet. In short, Fleets 01 to 30 are Megaroad Class. 31+ are New Macross Class/Island Cluster Class and are also given a "large scale" number. Confusing, eh? Nevertheless, that's ONLY Super Long Range Colony Fleets. Short Range Colony Fleets, and other fleets (research, survey, exploration, etc.) also exist, and are implied to have Macross class emigration ships.
  17. Macross Chronicle Worldguide 20a Eden Eden is found by a Close Range Emigration Fleet in November, 2013. as for viable sources, refer to: http://macross.anime.net/wiki/Macross_History (or the inverse, if it's on the following, it's not viable: http://macross.anime.net/wiki/Non-Studio-Nue_Stories )
  18. Gah! I forgot that Invid War: Aftermath is the completely seperate, crappy one. Avoid it!
  19. Try the order that they were released in: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robotech_(comics) Though... Eternity and Academy had the best. Just a couple of days ago, I was remembering (and wishing I had the time to go back and) read the Robotech II: the Sentinels, Genesis: Legend of Zor, Invid War/Aftermath, Worlds of Robotech, and the first parts of Return to Macross.
  20. Not much. See my translation of Macross Chronicle's Super Long Range Emigration Fleet sheet for more info.
  21. Spotted, in bold text, on a sweatshirt a 10 year-old male student was wearing: "Spunk Cushie" Talk about a poor kid!
  22. This is for my Macross locations project: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/Sketchley/L...s/Locations.htm (Which, fingers crossed, and time allowing, I hope will end up becoming something like: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/Sketchley/Locations/Earth.htm ) Can anyone tell me the status of the 55+ Super Long Range Emigration Fleets? (That's Megaroad 01-30, and Macross 01-25). I'm looking specifically for where (and when) they were last seen in the galaxy (and Macross timeline), and what, if any, locations (planets) that they have been mentioned as having passed. I've added a few entries to the TOC (and text) of the webpage linked to, but I'm not sure if they are completely accurate, or not. Any assistance there will be appreciated. Thanks. Oh - the opening animations of Macross 7 and F do not count. Or, as the Compendium puts it: "The galaxy graphic in Macross Frontier's prologue is meant to be symbolic. " http://macross.anime.net/wiki/Talk:Eden
  23. I didn't write the terms of the contract. Though, as someone who is in Japan, I can understand how Tatsunoko and Big West (both also in Japan) know and perceive North America as an international release. Also, isn't North America composed of a bunch of countries? Doesn't any release other than a domestic-only release to a single country in the continent count as an international release?
  24. Did BD even exist in 1999?
  25. Trademark in which country? Not here (Japan.) Perhaps you mean overseas/internationally? In that regards, as HG purchased the international distribution rights from Tatsunoko, who in 2002 were ruled as having those rights, why wouldn't they be legally allowed to acquire that trademark, outside of Japan?
