  1. Possibly. Though, given what the mistakes are, I think it's more a case of "hiding something in plain sight"; as in the editors "know" it's correct and ignore it from the very beginning. (I'm also thinking that this issue may have been put together at the same time as the New Years holiday, and parts of it were rushed - even some of the line-work on Hidetaka Tenjin's VF-1S looks sloppy. (the hand, in particular).
  2. Errors that I noticed in this latest issue: mechanic DYRL UN 02a VF-1S: “launcher pod” - Copy and pasted the VF-11 MAXL Kai sheet, did we? ”Goods Sheet 08 Character Goods 01 Cosplay Apparel 2” - Should be “Goods Sheet 08 Character Goods 08 Cosplay Apparel 2”, as the preceding page is “Goods Sheet 08 Character Goods 08 Cosplay Apparel 2”!
  3. Quickie scanlation of Chronicle Worldguide 05a: Varoota Forces http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/index.php?topic=2063.0 Not sure if I'll be able to revisit it and do a proper translation later. housekeeping: currently translating: mechanic DYRL UN 08a: ARMD random observation: the ARMD sheet only mentions info directly pertaining to DYRL. I'm not going to bother with any more DYRL sheets for the time being. Not worth the effort. Translated but not typed up: Mechanic: SDF:M UNS 15a Space Destroyer Technology: 01a Variable Fighter Mechanic Sheet: SDF:M, UNS 09a: Military Vehicles Subsequent sheets I'm interested in translating: mechanic SDFM UN 08a: MBR-04-Mk VI Tomahawk; SDFM UN 11a: HWR-00- Mk II Monster; SDFM UN 12a: SLV-111 Daedalus; SDF:M Zentraedi 06a Furubusu Barensu Class; SDF:M Zentraedi 10a Factory Satellite; FB UN 01a: SDF-2 Megaroad-01; M7 UN 14a: Macross 5 Fleet; D7 UNS 01a: VF-5000 History M7 02a: Varuta Martial attack tech Variable fighter 01b; Destroid 02a; Super Long Range Emigration Fleets 03a; EX Gear (Extender Gear) 11a
  4. Quickie scanlation of Mechanic: Zero Anti-UN Sheet 02: Octos http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/inde...ic=2062.new#new This one does look like it has a lot of interesting stuff that will fill in some blanks in the M0 background. However, it's quite low on my priority list. Not sure if I'll be able to revisit it and do a proper translation later.
  5. The latest MC's timeline sheet mentions the factory satellite retrieval operation, so it's not that...
  6. Yes. However, after I wrote that, I got a thinking... perhaps it means a space battle (as they already have the start of the "ground battle" with the Zentradi), as in the operation to capture the factor satellite (I don't think that's been covered yet.)
  7. aircraft, aeroplane, etc.. I wonder what it'll be about. I think this is a B sheet. battle [fight] after two years is probably a closer translation. See: http://linear.mv.com/cgi-bin/j-e/sjis/dose...%AC&WC=none I think it may just be the tail end of SDFM. Kamjin's attacks, etc.. This looks interesting. Let's hope that it's a bit more substantive than what's been released in magazines/books to date.
  8. Maybe I'm dating myself by saying this... yeah, members of Soundgarden. In order to not derail this from Macross, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Almost_Live! for further info. Funny stuff, much better than Saturday Night Live (which it aired after).
  9. must... add... to... lame list... http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=k0VGcbnOaQ4
  10. Not sure, but what's to say that Yukikaze didn't copy the concept from Macross? The VT-1 and VE-1 both have ventral located sensor arrays.
  11. If only anime would get that cheap! Even in used shops, it's common to see discs at ¥3,500 to ¥5,500! The only discs that get that cheap are of movies imported from Hollywood...
  12. I only got one issue of the first (?) series Antarctic Press published. I like Antarctic Press, but not what they were doing with Robotech. What I didn't like about it was that the vast majority of the mecha were simply scans of an artbook that had been pasted onto the page and colored. The differences were really, really glaring when the actual artist drew a mecha. In addition, the writers added characterizations (eg Global cooking and dressed in a feminine apron) that were never part of the characters. In the end, I felt that it wasn't original where it should have been (plot, etc.), and was being too original where it shouldn't have been (characters, etc.).
  13. Elysium added, with images! http://www.macrossroleplay.org/Sketchley/L...ons/Elysium.htm
  14. Going by the latest Newtype, all three have new albums being released. Though, of the three, only Sakamoto is being plugged with no connection to Macross F. May'n and Nakajima... well, they're new albums are one-third of the Macross F article in the issue...
  15. Ah... we should also keep in mind that the sheet that's been produced is the VF-25S. I have no doubt that there will be seperate sheets (with perhaps more "accurate" information) of the other versions of the R/VF-25.
  16. Isn't this the second time you've posted this post? Nevertheless, in regards to your question in the topic title: Happy. For no reason other than that it made Macross popular. Sure, I'm grumbling about the glut of Macross related publications, but that's infinitely better than grumbling about a lack of Macross related publications.
  17. Just check the first post in this topic. There are links to all of the translated articles. That, or use my fall-back: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/Sketchley/p.../Chronicles.htm (specifically the table of contents). ((This link is always available off of the link in my signature.))
  18. Funny... that (and the scene of Aruto training in the asteroid field and discovering a Zentradi wreck) really made the series for me (in that it has a memory of preceeding events in the overall Macross story). I'm saying this not to contradict you, just to counterpoint: one man's garbage is another man's gold. (Not that I think the series is 100% perfect or anything.)
  19. If it does, do what I've been doing with the second VF tech page: ignore it until you've got the motivation to tackle it.
  20. Well, the events in M0 could have been the last hurrah of the Anti-UN Alliance, and the majority of their remaining forces (or the majority of the true believers who motivated/forced everyone to go along with them) were destroyed. Or... the creators are leaving things open for other possible stories. Given the track record of semi-open-ended endings in Macross, I think it's the creators keeping their options open. But that's just me.
  21. This is Macross. They used reaction bombs. I suggest you read the chronology in the compendium, as the Anti-UN is indicated using both.
  22. Hah... I actually remember replacing that one. That should be 2033.
  23. Found the source for you: http://www.hawkmoon.net/fanfic/notes.html The only reason I went searching for it is because of this entry: http://macross.anime.net/wiki/New_Macross_...#Ships_in_class Where the info comes from... no idea. Perhaps one of the games?
  24. I found it by doing a google search on it.
  25. Uhm, guys, do we *really* need to quote images? Also, as much as I like Star Wars, it has nothing to do with Macross nor the purpose of this thread. Post it elsewhere! I've fiddled with the locations page, and have added all the info I've been able to find on the Super Long Range Emigration Fleets here: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/Sketchley/L...tions.htm#slref ; with known launch dates, last known location and when, and fate. In one or two cases, due to a lack of info, I've simply added how it was referenced (eg: the 33rd fleet). Also, I'm beginning to think that the planet Elysium was colonized by an emigration fleet... given it's distance from Earth (starting at around 4,000 lightyears).
