  1. Finished translation notes of the M7 Escort Ships. The show that I was watching from 25:00 to 26:00, Mon to Thurs ended, so I'm hoping that I'll be able to put the freed up time to good use, and get rid of the backlog of translations waiting to be typed. I completed the first half of Chronicle Mechanic: SDFM UN 15a: Oberth Space Destroyer. Hopefully the rest of it will be posted by this time tomorrow evening/morning (currently 03:00... >.< )
  2. The lack of a bibliography is the largest flaw of the old Compendium. Nevertheless, there are members of MW that can read Japanese (to varying degrees of ability). So nothing is really impossible at this point. Please keep in mind that I'm not asking for every fact. To date, I've only asked for a Japanese source twice.
  3. I can agree with that. For all it's flaws, the animated Sentinals is the result of a salvage operation on a TV series that was never completed. SC never had that excuse (or acknowledged flaw).
  4. Nor will the bank account! (Too much Macross goodness right now... )
  5. Kawamori just has to design a new head. No biggy, as he's done it before: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/Sketchley/S...FT_LASER_CANNON
  6. Which is why I've been asking, on occasion, for the original Japanese source text. Different translators do use different words, after all. For example, is the G-limit really written only as G limit? Or is it really "maximum combat acceleration"? (Taken from Macross Chronicle M7 UNS Escort Ships).
  7. ? Please clarify how you guys know it is MrMarch's colourizations, and not the originals? One would think that colour versions of lineart existed before in the Macross series... heck, look at Macross Chronicle.
  8. I believe such a bible exists for each individual series (the animators need reference pictures, and the story writers need character notes and plot outlines.) But for all the diverse series as a whole? Doubtful, especially since Kawamori-san and the other staff involve move onto another project virtually right after the current project has been finished. Though, this does raise a question: is there a member of the staff that checks continuity? We all know that animation mistakes slip through, but are there grosser errors that are flagged and changed while their is still time? (Like the character designer of MF was also assigned the job of confirming that the contractors were animating the characters correctly.)
  9. Funny... when I google my user name, I get only 93,700. I wonder where the extra 100 are coming from, in the non-Japanese version that you used. Anyhow, if you add macross to my user name, it drops down to 1,210 - which is probably more realistic. (But not 100% accurate. However, it's removed the hotels/town(ship)/cleaners/writers with the same name.) ANYHOW, Gubaba is... a character in Macross 7. Obviously there's going to be a larger amount.
  10. Funny, when I type in "Macross" in google, I get the following: http://www.google.co.jp/search?hl=ja&q...=lr%3D&aq=f What is a riot is that the Compendium is at 13th, and MW is at 15th!
  11. It's surreal. Mind you, it's a healthy reminder of exactly how far reaching our comments are, and especially how the negative (or those spoken in less than positive terms) can reflect badly on the person making the comments. AKA: the next time you don't get called in for a job interview, ask yourself if your online activities are the reason why.
  12. Piccies. Binder and OST 2 for scale. The reverse of the envelope is pretty cool - it's a shame the camera didn't take a clear shot. If I remember, I'll try it again in the sunlight (it's after midnight right now). Enjoy.
  13. Random observation: On the Macross Chronicle post cards that arrived today, "Zentradi" is romanized as "Zentradi". (Not Zjentohlauedy, Zentraedi, or Zentrady.) I'm almost finished the translation of Mechanic Sheet M7 UNS 07A Macross 7 Fleet Escort Ships
  14. I came home, and by was I surprised when I opened the mail box: mail from Macross Chronicle! I was a bit worried that I mailed the mail-in in too late (you know, affix the small triangles from iss. 1~10, mail-in for a chance to win something). I didn't win something, but I got 4 groovy postcards. I'll try and take a piccy of them later.
  15. Don't feed the troll.
  16. Who's the one being a dick, here? Give him a break on English. Did it even enter your thick head that he (or she) may not be fluent in English? Have you ever heard of sarcasm? FYI, Fokker is the accepted "de facto" standard romanization of フォッカー. Which is the way that his name is written.
  17. Shoji Kawamori Macross Design Works is probably the best buy, hands down. For the individual series: Perfect Memory (SDFM) TiA: M+ Movie Edition TiA: M7 Animation Materials MF Official Fan Book

Hobby Japan, Model Graphix, Animedia, Charraberry's (MF articles + various VF models) Games: in addition to pictured, also have PSX SDF:M (trying to convince the wife to get a PS3, to not only play the PS2 SDFM, but also BDs... so far... ) CDs: All except for the last two singles (got fed up with all the repeated songs...) DVDs: DYRL has run off somewhere. The rest of my Western movie collection is elsewhere... all in Japanese, thank you very much. (Stupid DVD region codes! >.< )
  19. Most of the time they're looking at the HUD, helmet displays, or even canopy displays (can't remember if it was shown in series, or not. Been standard on VF's since DYRL.)
  20. Erm, shouldn't that be "within an atmosphere, altitude limits the maximum achieveable speed without adverse effect on the VF"? (and without employing other systems to minimize heat damage).
  21. I distinctly remember someone (Gubaba? Azrael?) mentioning that the YF-24 Evolution had been made into a VF-24; with no further information (such as name, capability changes/improvements, whatever.) It might have been on the VF-25 Chronicle Sheet.
  22. Quid pro quo. I'm still waiting for you to provide the source for the Compendium's info. (Like I did for the VF-25's info... but wait, that was when you were insulting my intelligence by trying to tell me what I had written in English. )
  23. You must really like to insult people and their intelligence. You do realize that all you're doing is alienating yourself, and making it less likely that people will attempt to have an intelligent discussion with you now, or in the future, right?
  24. ROFLMAO. Thanks for the humour. This discussion was getting waaay too serious.
