  1. ... ! Optimistically, I'm hoping that the switch means that Macross the First will be published monthly, and Macross Ace continues on it's quarterly rate...
  2. I've heard it was him - especially because the building the VF-1D smashes through is reportedly the Studio Nue offices! Two official designs exist. One is for the video game "Macross 2036" (if memory serves), which was released before Kawamori-san finalized the GERWALK and battroid mode design of the VF-4; so both the FAST packs and battroid mode look like the VF-1's. The other, a design penned by Kawamori-san, though not necessarily "official" - see picture in this section: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/Sketchley/Statistics/VF-4/VF-4.html#OPTIONAL_SYSTEMS As for unofficial FAST packs, I came up with a design over a decade ago : schematic: http://studiootaking.deviantart.com/gallery/142336#/d11d6a4 battroid:
  3. Wow. They're all done on A4!
  4. Macross Hobby Handbook 1: ABR-04-MkX Defender pages (see linky above) Funny - I thought the Matador ZAL was more than just a test piece.
  5. Since the retcon is may 2001. source: MC timeline 00 and 01, world guide 01B, technology 08A. If the retcon says 2001.05, then it's 2001.05. There are a whole bunch of things on the Macross Compendium that have not been updated - mostly because there aren't that many people performing updates, and of those that are, they are interested in getting the information on Macross F and Macross the Ride added. If you have the time, feel free to amend the Macross Compendium wiki with the retconned information; just make sure you note the source in the part where it asks for the description or reason for the edit.
  6. The VFMF:VF-1 had it's second printing about a month after the initial printing. I've been buying 1st printing thereafter, so cannot confirm if the subsequent 3 have had the same (maybe other members can check?)
  7. finished the 2011.01 article. (VF-19EF description and scratch built construction picts' captions, and the small article about how the style arrangements came to be.)
  8. An alternative ending to the last episode, and some possible outcomes if there had been a 3rd season: http://www.gateworld.net/news/2011/05/producer-reveals-alternate-ending-for-stargate-universe-finale/
  9. I haven't gone back and checked, but since I first saw them in the book, I have felt that they are all exactly the . No more, no less.
  10. This Is Animation Special: Macross Plus (1995) Pg 66 (VF-4 Lightning III development background) That's the earliest I've found with a quick look. Might be an earlier source (not the Flashback 2012 book. Little to no info on the VF-4 in that one, let alone the VF-4's development history!)
  11. I believe Graham has posted scans of the pages in the Newtype issue that they first appeared in, along with a copy of the translation I did of that article on the main site.
  12. Apparently it is that scarce, and it is THE Macross F book that everyone wants right now.
  13. Ponder the origins of the word "otaku" in the derogative sense in the Japanese vernacular, among other things.
  14. It's a pretty fast build. Even for an out-of-practice novice (myself), it was completed in a couple of hours. Some things to take care: ... when cutting the parts from the sprues. The red plastic tends to result in white stress marks if your not careful. ... of the small antenna on the wings/canards. They are the first parts to break if you're not careful when cutting or manipulating the kit when finished. Otherwise, fairly straightforward, and you won't have any language barrier problems, especially if you're familiar with Bandai's Gundam kits.
  15. S02E20 Good stuff. Bittersweet, lots of nostalgia. A little light on character development at times, but a decent amount of action, and provides effective closure. I was fearing that it would be a cliffhanger like the end of season 1 or the end of the 1st half of season 2. Glad that it's not, and that it actually tried to wrap up a couple of story/character arcs. During the final frames of the episode, "... and this is where we came in" came to mind.
  16. ... and finished the 2011.06 episode of "Macross the Ride".
  17. Crap, after misinterpreting the data and doing all the typing... ... anyhow, I guess the main thing that can be gleaned from those pages are, at least in the context of the VFMF series, the VF-25 has spread quite far beyond the M25 Fleet (one of the fighter variations is apparently stationed at Eden's New Edwards Base).
  18. Why's that? FYI: it ended yesterday (JST). [unless if you're one of those lucky bums that took the Friday off, and have a 10 day-long Golden Week. Bastards!]
  19. It's worth a shot. Thus the really short, simple English sentences - in the hopes that either the poster's limited English abilities or a machine translation will result in comprehension.
  20. Junkudo Books, Kawaramachi, Kyoto. I went in looking for VFMF:VF-25 (which they also had, score!), and noticed this book out of the corner of my eye on the next bookshelf. I've been looking for this book since it was released, but thought that it's lack of availability in the usual stores I go to is because those stores usually don't carry the less-mainstream Macross products. I did find it extremely odd that Amazon is already selling used copies for double the retail cost!
  21. From what I have gleaned, the show was cancelled AFTER filming of the last episode was completed. Ergo: no chance for the writers to come up with a conclusion. This doesn't preclude a conclusion having been created and added during post production. But I doubt that, as post production was completed a long time ago, back when it looked like an SGU movie was going to be created to properly conclude things.
