Hmmm... that reminds me about something with the VF-1's FAST packs: they have the "I don't give a damn about (insert word, I favor aerodynamics)" look to them. Perhaps that's why the joint in those VF-4 dorsal packs work? It echoes that mentality?

Advance of Zeta. Heard of it? It's from the same publication (Dengeki Hobby). Started before MtR did, and has continued long past it. The magazine has also supplied 1 full model kit of the hero mecha and 1 kit to customize an existing Gundam kit. That. I. Know. Of. Truth be told, MtR wasn't that big... ... but it's still awesome! I think the only one that it is applicable to is Macross Zero. In that we already knew what was going to happen after it. However, the argument fails on M0's embellishment of the timeline...

That IS fun. Especially the look of complete and utter shock that their world has collapsed... erm, that they have to save their sanity by labelling us ignorant savages a blood type to make their world as right as rain.

Nope. Didn't look. Just keep in mind that the only VFX/VFX2 content that appears in MC is stuff that didn't appear in any other section (the exception is the VF-4. But it only got 1/6 of a page, and most of that was text with a low-rez in-game promo picture).

? Which Valkyries are you referring to? I'm going to add to my preceding post: the VF-4 page does have the GERWALK, Battroid and rough transformation line art from VF-X, but the ones that are coloured are in the M3 Max/Miria blue/red scheme. So... my post above should probably be corrected to read: the page being used as an image reference does not have the colour and markings for the VF-X game.

Note the reference - Macross Chronicle FB2012 VF-4 page. Just double checked. No, repeat, no VF-X VF-4 on that page. Only FB2012 and M3.

Correct. I think if I were to do those FAST pack designs now, I'd remove the dorsal super part rocket boosters. I've never really liked the joint in the middle of them (unnecessary weight and makes them more prone to breakage)... and knowing what I know now, the VF-4 doesn't need the extra rocket boosters. What with them already built in! LOL

If memory serves, that head design was specifically created for the Studio Half-Eye garage kit. As Yamato only has the licence for VF-X, and this alternative command specification head didn't appear in it, this toy won't have it. Alas, it doesn't clarify if the alternative head is part of the official setting or not.

Something about him not being able to get the Valkyrie bug out of his system and the only way to get his project (that later evolved into Macross Plus) produced, was to have it part of Macross. Did Macross II contribute to his return? Definitely on the producers' side (as in: with his name attached, we can sell more).

Nothing to do with HG. Damn internet auto-detect country of access is what it is >.<

Who says they are not? The design has anime magic. Therefore, there must be compromises made simply to turn it into a 3D toy that is as accurate as possible in ALL 3 modes. I say we all relax until we've seen the final product...

Hmmm... just double checked the MtR: Visual Book Vol. 02, and indeed, the VF-19ACTIVE has the GU-17A. (Ergo, it's been modified to withstand the recoil). So, is it cheaper? It's clear that the GU-17A is the new big gun in the M25 fleet, and it's realistic that Hughes would be doing it's darnedest to promote their latest weapon. Therefore, my conclusion is yes, in this one instance the GU-17A would be cheaper (company discounts and promotions).

Not clear if it is, or not. It really depends if other VFs in the same hangar are using the same gun pod and the bullet manufacturer makes more of which calibre. Anyhow, this is about the VF-19ACTIVE, no? The last I heard, it wasn't able to use the VF-25's gun pod. Reason being, it wasn't modified to withstand the recoil. Compare to the VF-19EF:

DYRL BD Remaster - the Good.......and the BAD.
sketchley replied to SCOOPUDA!'s topic in Movies and TV Series
I'm not even sure censor is the right term. At worst, it's self-censor. Maybe it has something to do with the restoration process. Maybe something to do with that nebulous "reshoots" (not sure how that's possible in this case...) -
Visually (and going by the series), aside from the additional external hardware, it's pretty much exactly the same. I don't think they altered the CG model in the cockpit area, either. The only other major external physical difference was the Anti-Optical Weapon Vaporizing Armour: aka the white paint job. Not sure what the net effect is when it comes to the final surface paint (gloss? Flat?)

Short answer: yes. Long answer: if you know where to look (off the beaten path), have the time to look (you may have to go through numerous stores) and you're in luck (the toy is out of print, no?), then you can. That said, it's always cheaper to have something shipped from Japan to Korean than it is from Japan to North America. Nevermind that it's much faster and handled with a bit more care, too.

I get THAT. What I don't get is the flow of the conversation... half explanations and no context.
-
?? Not following this conversation AT ALL. Confused. In the context of this convo, Tochiro informed Mommar...
-
First it was Tochiro, not Exo. Also, I agree with Renato. It wasn't clear which front page. GA Graphics is the one most logical... Shutting down one division means restructuring the company. Which means disruptions to the other sections of the company in some form or another. The smaller the company is, the greater those disruptions are going to be. Also, pending the business model of the company in question, it might be half (or more) of the workforce being laid off with a high probability that some of those that are being dismissed are involved in the upcoming publication.
