I am a big Eva toys fan and the idea of removable armor is great, but seeing the pictures of the naked eva, it is just not as exciting as the Gunbuster and the Ideon, and yes it looks more like a mannequin than the raging beast...may be that is why it cost $90 instead of $180? On the other hand, the Ideon pics look truely awsome, I am so happy with the Gunbuster that I have every faith with bandai that the Ideon will be a well built toys and fun/easy transformation. You know, these latest Bandai SOCs are quickly diverting a good portion of my toy funds from Yamato...

Why are you waiting for re-issue, now is th best time to pick one up from YahooJP or ebay for lower price than the original RRP. Got one a week ago for $14,000 Yen.

Relax, eugimon, you sound like one of your blood vessel is about to pop.... We just want Yamato to raises its game with the SV-51 knowing that the toy will be difficult to make and likely to be close to $200. QC, engineering designs, cheapscape CEO, my Neighbour’s dog is pregnant or what ever you want to call it, the fact is we just don't want to pay for another less than perfect 1st run release and chip-in another $180 for the same toy...
-
Just to clarify one thing: Yamato does has its own Recommended Retail Price on their web-site. So they are the one whom determine the $180 price tag for a lottery quality toy. Yamato RRP Bottom line: Yamato's reoccurring QC problem is not acceptable. We pay alot of money for a toy, not a lot of money for a 95% OK toy depending on your luck... Beside, bad QC must hurts their 1st run sale as well, many are afraid of their 1st run and hold back. As said before, Bandai's Gunbuster SOC is flawless for less price with more details. No more excuses, please get your SV-51 right then make your sale.

I am actually hoping Yamato would re-interpret the design alittle and feed some vitamin to the SV-51. The original line work from daddy SK was a little too anorexic for my tatse. Keep the FM as designed and give some handles to the BM.

Good to those whom haven't seen it.

Holy smack!!! I have been keeping it in fighter mode and thought what a great toy. With all these problems, I am glad I kept a blind eye. Might have to wait for a re-issue before I see it in the other 2 modes.... Um....once again, how much did we pay Yamato for a less then perfect toys.... With these QC issues, Bandai's SOC Gunbuster should win the Toy of the Year 2006, it is faultless, more metal, more details, better package, more gimicks, more robust, and cost about the same. Yamato, stop giving us faulty toys!!!!

The Type 0 is nice, unlike Ingram 2 which is basically a different paint job to Ingram 1

Lovely, Macross toy is truely kicking and alive!!!!!

I actually like the 1/100 VB-6 Konig Monster alot. There are a few design flaws but it is just an engineering miracle. I loves those big feet...

Studio Halfeye Perfect Change Getter Robo
Mowe replied to kanedaestes's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
As I said before, transforming is quite painful and slow, so I never putt Getter-2 into real test. From what I heard, even the Fewture's Getter-2 had problem standing up, so don't have your hope too high. I might give it a go this week, hope I don't break any parts.... -
That is one fine looking custom, can't wait to see the VF-0S piggy back that blue Ghost...yum...

Studio Halfeye Perfect Change Getter Robo
Mowe replied to kanedaestes's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Funny you should mention the Soul of Chogokin Gunbuster. A few years back, SHE was the only one whom managed to pulled out the fully transformable Gunbuster and it was freaking expensive like these Getters. My hope is to see Bandai to tackle the big one: a fully transformable Getter in METAL!!!! Now that will definitely be the toy of the decade!!!!! -
Studio Halfeye Perfect Change Getter Robo
Mowe replied to kanedaestes's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Make sure you know what version you are getting. There are size differences - the smaller ones do not transform to other Getter Modes. As far as I know, here is a summary of the Perfect Change Getter Series: Getter-1, 2001 Version: approx 8 inches tall, only transform to Getter-1, this is the TV Getter-1 with non-devil wings, this version was never released again. Getter-1, 2002 Version: approx 8 inches, only transform to Getter-1, this is the OVA version with devil wings., this version was re-released couple of years ago. Getter-2, 2002 Version: approx 8 inches, only transform to Getter-2, this version was re-released couple of years ago. Getter Robot, Original Version (1999): approx 10 inches tall, can transforms to Getter-1, 2, & 3. Getter Robot, Renewal Version (2004): approx 10 inches tall, can transforms to Getter-1, 2, & 3, this version has improved features such as hidden armour inside the body and better connection joints, it also has a deeper red, this renewal version comes in two colour scheme: normal getter colour and the black getter. Personally, I love these Getters for their great engineering, but you must be aware of the following before you chuck in $200-$500: 1. they are not toys that you can play with: despite their sturdy appearance on the box cover, there are just too many joints due to transformation. WHen transformed to robot mode, they can be quit wobbly. Think of them more like collectors items; 2. these figures are all in pre-coloured resin (excep the screws used). From the box art, I first thought some parts might be in metal but SHE must had applied glossy paints to these figures. I question how many time I can transform them before the plastic parts and joints fails; 3. tranformation is not easy, much more complicated than transforming the 1/48 VF-1. After one transformation, I couldn't be bother transforming the other versions I had. The problem is all joints are screw fixed and has no locking mechanism. To make the figure sturdy, you have to tighten every screw joints with a screw driver. Anyhow, here are some pics to give you an idea of scale, good luck with your purchase!!! Bugger!!! Kaiyodo is using the Yamato tricks: a new paint job to get more money from the same mould...

- nice big Eva in metal: 10 pts - nice big Eva whom can perform striptease: 10 pts - neat price for a big chunky eva: 10 pts - movement joints seem to better than the original SOC but not nearly as flexible as the Revotech: 8 pts - Sculpting falls between the original SOC and Revoltech (The original SOC has leaner muscle tone while the Revoltech was too chuppy for my taste): 8 pts - The purple armour paint is just too pastel, Bandai had it right with the original SOC, hope they could make a last minute decision change : 5pts - If they can make a nice big chunky Eva-05, I’ll buy 9 of them to recreate the final scene and give Bandai a score of 100!!!!

Same here, I didn't even think the landing gear had a problem until I start reading the feed backs. But thanks for the tips.

Concur!!! The FP looks hot on the YF-19 but 60 bucks for a few loose pieces + a freaking huge box (face it, we know it is going to be huge...) is just a bit rich... From a collector’s or buyer’s point of views, Yamato really should have packed the FP with the 19 in one package. Un-like the VF-1, the 19 has virtually no accessories but with rooms for a fridge. It just doesn't make any sense....

Don't know if this has been discussed, but I hope the Ghost will hide the floppy VF-0S floppy backpack when mounted to battroid mode....

1/48 GBP with a '2' seater valk? Possible? John's 1D?
Mowe replied to ruskiiVFaussie's topic in Toys
I never understand the "not enough demand" reason for not having a 2 seater. If Yamato was willing to start a new line with the VF-0 & M+ series (which required complete sets of new moulds and design), isn't it still easier & cheaper to do a VF-1 2-seater. I am guessing the demand for VF-1 2 seaters is no less than the VF-0s or M+ because the majority of Valk buyers are Macross fan anyway. Anyhow, Graham's comments regarding the 1/48 2-seater is a real blow to my hope of seeing it happen ...just when I thought Yamato was reinvesting their time and money to VF-1 with all these re-paint jobs.....
