Ha...ha...don't give Yamato colour scheme idea too quickly, lets us get a good batch of YF-19 first
-
True, true. For that price, it is very possible. What I don't understand is why Bandai hasn't release the SOC Eva 05 to complete their Eva line. You can bet many Eva fan will get 9 of them.
-
Oh!!!!! I want to get 9 Eva-05 to start my own 4th Impact!!!!

Next Macross, which valk should be the main one ?

Sailor Moon Valk!!!!! -
VF-1J - for its iconic appeal. Kakizaki is abit of a goof, so does his Valk colour.
-
I dig the Gaiking, he has white pant!!!! Somehow, the Kaiyodo sculptor really knows how to make the vintage robots look cool while being faithful to the original design. Would be nice if he could sculpt for a company that does big diecast toy.

I need image prove...

Does seeing Minmay's boob in the shower score any points for the DYRL?? Or the implied shaq scene between Hikaru and Misa when they were alone on Earth??

Um….I don’t like your tone, you sound like an as.s hole ready to pick a fight, IMO . And I wasn’t joking, I meant what I posted . I think it is a clever twist because in just one move, it clearly tells the viewers that there are 2 opposing forces that have been battling for centuries. Cliché as it might be, it is an efficient way to give a valid reason for this on going war, that is, there are two competing races from 2 different backgrounds trying to out do each other. The writer could have pick Black Man vs White Man or Battalion 106 vs Battalion 302 to represent the opposing sides. Given this is an hour long movie, he was smart enough to pick “Men vs Women†because he knew “War of the Sexes†had always been an universal theme, even a child can grasp the concept quickly without wasting too much screen time to explain why they are fighting. Nice and clean. The TV series had times to develop and explain the rivalry within the Zantradian force, the Movie doesn’t. And this is why I think this twist is clever. Cliché alone is not a good enough reason to decide whether a plot is bad or good. Just in case you haven’t notice, many great movies have cliché and unbearable cheesy moments and if they are done correctly, they complement the film. I know it is in the original, but it took 26 esps to bring the message across while the movie did it in less than 2hrs. And that is what I meant by succinct. Don’t tell me you are a fan of that annoying pesty cousin….
-
Hume...interesting, I always thought the plot and messages in DYRL are a lot more clever and succinct, for example: - it gives a better understanding and more interesting insight to the origin of the aliens, I love the idea that women and men were born to fight with each other, it is quit cheeky but clever. - I was very impressed with the subliminal message that without culture, civilization is destined to engage warfare and self disruption - culture is equally effective as a weapon than a cannon. Also, DYRL has the bonus of not having a lot of screen time of that annoying Minmay cousin.

I want more new transforming non-valk design - along the line of the VB-6. I like to see SK does a tranfomable bomer. -
Very impressive. The next fun thing to do is find a nice realistic back drop and photoshop it. I really love playing with scale - like the way the Eva series does, contrasting an extraordinary object in an ordinary environment.
-
Wow, the poll is dead even right now, interesting.
-
Agreed, 70's super robots rule!!!!!
-
Of course we want it. I always think the VF-0S Battroid Mode looks too flimsy. Don't know how my 1st issue will hold up, raise his arm or support the armored back pack but it would be a huge disappointment if Yamato does not follow through with the armoured gear. Bty, I don't like that blue, deeper grey blue would look better.

Holy sh*t, read more news, the Gx-02r (Great Mazinger), the Gx-06 (Getter Team) and the Gx-23 (zambot) will be re-issued in 2007!!! Woo...Whoo!!! Had always been tempting to bid for the Zambot at a higher price due to short supply, I gues I'll now wait for the re-issue, and lets hope it has improvement on the movement joints!!!!

Being on the b itching team, this is the first counter-b itching argument that I like, not bad...

Possible Daltanious SOC!!!!! Although it reads "2007 Wistlist Mecha" and I presume it is only speculation, the idea of owning a SOC of Daltanious sends shiver down my spine. The Daltanious will be a sure win for the fans and Bandai if its transformation and quality are as close to the Gunbuster and as big as the Ideon. God, if they do decide to make it, I hope they will pick a decent scale (the size of the Walker Galliar and Xabungle are just disappointing). Hell, my days of drooling over the Ebay price tag of the Vintage Daltanious will be finally be over (if it happens...crossing my fingers!!! ) Bty, I don't know who the other two guys are but they looked retro to me too. We know, this is more like another wishful thinking thread. Beside, it doesn't have to be from Yamato, I think most of the VF-2SS fans will be happy to buy from anyone as long as it is a decent looking toy.
-
Dido everything on the 1st post. I always find the second arc of the TV series (when they returned to Earth) was too slow and didn't have the punch of the earlier eps. DYRL improved almost every aspect of the TV but remained faithful to the essential ideas of the Macross series.
-
The OVA itself might be crap but I really like the sleekness of the VF-2SS looks sleek, it is a nice variant of the original VF-1. I reckon had it been approved by the master himself, more people would like it. And I agree with mechaninac, you have to remember that VF-2SS was done prior of many other SK designs - not a bad effort considering it was also done a long time ago.
-
Ah!!! You hit the bull's eye!!!! I started this project a while back because I was frustrated that the VF-0S wouldn't do this pose but VF-1 can (see below). At the time, I thought Yamato had gone backward with the poseability, so I took the matter in my own hand. Actually, my recent whinnying and b itching of Yamato on other threads had propelled me to restart this project… heh…heh…it is my own little way to correct Yamato’s less than perfect toys… Original Inspiration...........Yamato 1/48 VF-1A Super (no photoshoping) [attachmentid=40574]..............[attachmentid=40575]

Wow, very beautiful PS works everyone!!! After a long break from my 1/60 Yamato VF-0S Photoshop Bash-kit Job, I did a bit more work to it today. Very happy with the progress with the weathering. Click HERE to see previous progress pics. Please post any comments if you have other ideas or technique I can try. [attachmentid=40573]

VF-0S Photoshop Bash-Kit updated: see Post #5 of this thread Progress 3 update: Detail features such as weathering, panel lining, decals, etc., are added to the lower body. After a long break from this project, I felt like resuming it and trying out a few more new techniques I learned from work. Veru happy with the weathering effects, particularly the wearing off of paints on the front foot. The panel effect is done by mapping art works I took from "Tenjin Hidetaka Art Works of Macross Valkyries" and a few of the details of Master Chen's VF-0S model. The maps are then contrasted and balanced to give a uniform ligting treatment. Here are some of the original mapping images I used for the panel design: [attachmentid=40570][attachmentid=40571][attachmentid=40572] Next Update: weathering and panel works to the upper body .

If people on this forum are so uptight about negative comments towards Yamato, may be this site should be renamed as Yamato's Macross World Forum with "No Yamato Ranting" policy...
