  1. Then the next question is what will the pilots look like in both version? Common, Yamato, don't disappoint us.
  2. Am I missing somenting here? I thought SAMURAI-MONKEY has a pre-order deal of $160 (including shipping to most area) http://samurai-monkey.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=75 . samurai_m correct this post if I am wrong.
  3. The Camo: Homage to the F-1, a nice gesture, scores brownie points for that . In fighter and gerwalk mode, it does look hot. But I still think Yamato did a sloppy job with the application of the camo pattern. For my taste, the camo design is too wigglely. Would be nicer if the camo edges are softened up a bit more in a more random pattern, rather than the predictable 45 degree stripe pattern, making the battroid looks very silly. And why the hell are they calling it Low Viz when it is a Camo? The Stealth: Not bad...but not happy with Yamato's release strategy. The FP version should be the only release for the Stealth. Yamato, why do you hate my wallet so much!!! Bottom line: I already pre-ordered these 2 babies, so I should stand by my deals but I now have to forlk out more for the Stealth FP…Yamato, with these 2 releases you are so close to the borderline in pissing a lot of your supporters. If you want to milk our money, raise your game like your did for the Low-Vis 1, GBP-1 or VF-0S. You have a beautiful line of products, don’t mess it up…yet.
  4. Man, when the final payment call is up for my pre-ordered Low-Vis, Stealth & now this little baby, Yamato is going to suck me dry and I'll be eating peas for the coming months.
  5. 1. Single but not because I prefer Valks over women (I swear, this was suggested by a few posts in another forum elsewhere). Extra cash is not exactly the right word, more like my hard earn pay....but priority is the key with my spending. Rare Valks first (e.g. LV, Super VF-1J), the rest later. I still don't have a Roy/Hiki VF-1S, nor the CF. But, looking at the way Yamato is heading, I don't think I am in a hurry, I am even holding off the 1A Max (got a minor burt with the Ebay 1A Hiki but escaped in time with the 1A Max). My immediate priority is the LV2 and Stealth, the rest will come later when my wallet is padded again. 2. I am not a completist of re-issue but I like to own all variations. I collect the 1/48 Valks because they are really beautifully made toys, so one of each is good enough for me. G'day Kensei! I hear ya. If we ever struggle for entertainment cash down under, our free sun and beaches always do the tricks. If any neg about being in Australia is the freaking shipping cost.
  6. What great news!!! I always thought the 1st TV show was abit too clean. Sarah is alot darker and kicks alot more butts in the manga. Hope we get to see Harkonnen II in action, IMO nothing sexier than girls with big guns!!
  7. Wow!!! Shameful as I should be, I didn't know Kevin and his store until I joined MW a week ago. Reading through this thread is like going through the honored roll of the NP Prize. Let's hope his kid grows up quickly and becomes another Macross fan, then Kevin will have to make a come back.
  8. Doh!! Now it all makes sense. Thanks guys, I am now flying high!! Now, if only I could have a Mowe in the fastpack mode....
  9. I can't figure out why my mini-profile screen does not show my picture when I post reply? My image has definitely uploaded (it shows up on the member profile card). The image is smaller than 250x250pix. Can anyone help? Thanks.
  10. DYRL and SDF-M both rock. They were the cornerstones of the mid 80's animation (an amazing era on the animation timeline) and the beginning of a genre that went beyond great visual animation. They were created by a pool of very enthusiastic (& sleep deprived) young but incredibly gifted artists. They successfully blended great mecha designs, adorable characters with real souls, and a captivating story line with universal themes that were simply timeless. In particularly DYRL, its completeness as a film is unparallel to animations that were before its time or those followed (IMO-it beats the crap out of most animations today, with exception like the Eva series, but then again, the core creative people of DYRL were pretty much the backbone of the Eva team). DYRL’s immaculate details with ideas & visuals still dazzle me till these days. The idea that “a civilization with the no culture is destined to be savages†still sent chills to my bones every time I think about it…if only G.Bush Junior had a copy of DYRL when he was little…, now wouldn't that be nice he could get the Congress to fund a real Valkyrie development team . Finally, a trivia for all you DYRL fans out there: In one of his interviews, Mamoru Oshii (GITS) commented on the drama aspects of theatrical releases and confessed that DYRL along with the Eva were the only films that he could remember in the past 20 years that was done successfully… so there you go, need I say more? And that’s why I keep coming back to Macross. p.s. writing this just gave me a thought, does anyone know if there is a thread that rate some of those memorable moments in DYRL? If not, you reckon is worthwhile doing it? I know my fav...and no, is not the scene where Minmay goes to the shower in nude...
  11. I was a button away from buying the first release on ebay, and I stumbled across Graham's "stay tune" comment. The suspense is killing me!!! By the way I'm a newbie on this site. Hi everyone!!!! Because of MW, I learnt a fair bit about the 1/48s but I can now proudly say I'm penniless with a fast shrinking wallet. Yamato, you are killing me too!!
