  1. I never managed to finish MacII no matter how hard I tried. Having said that, I'll dig for a 1/48 VF-2SS if yamato is up to it, I quite like its agressive line.

OK, further to AlphaHX's grey scheme, here is another. Any takers?
  3. Actually, I think Yamato is already doing a bit of back paddling on the Camo Low-Vis naming, well at least on the GBP.2 armor pics anyway (Lowvisibility Camouflage Version). It sounds sluggish but at least it is an effort to correct it, wondering if they will use that for the camo low-vis.
  4. Skullsixx, I'm with you there. DYRL still kick butts when compared to alot of the CG enhanced stuff now days.
  5. Mowe is the famouse wind glider ride by Nausicaä in Miyazaki's Valley of the Wind. It is a German word meaning seagull. I thought Mowe would make a very cool MW username. The Valk and Mowe are my absolute fav flying machines.
  6. Quoted kanata67's: "so how many gbp is that now? The IRS gods are frowning on me. The wife changed the ebay password in anticipation of how much we owe... damnit time for me to get a second job to pay for toys I don't have time to play with" I just read the above post from kanata67's on the More Classic Macross Goodness thread. This was so hilarious, it brought tears to my eye. So I thought this could be a fun topic, since most of us are in the mid 20s and 30s with partners. Many of our other halves usually consider the Valks to be a bit of obstacles in the relationship. Sent a post if you have a funny or unusual story to tell, whether it is a devious scheme to buy Valks behind your wife’s back or major episode involving unexplainable disappearance of Valks. You might even want to parade how your women support your Valk habbits. Who knows, we might learnt a few tricks from each other. p.s just realised, there might be MW chicks with hubby out there as well, your posts are of course welcomed.

Wow, the grey does look better, and will definitely work with all other valks. I really liked the dark army green, it suits the heavy armour really nicely, like a real ground troop soldier packed with gears. I have a plan: if Yamato stick with the lime green, we'll just have to ask nightmareB4macross to recast the lime green bits into grey. That'll do for me.
  8. OOCH!!....getting a little touchy. Just a little fun comments, not meant to do any harm to anyone, but obviously it hits the soft spot. By the way, I use Mac.
  9. IMO, the segregation of the male/female zentradi was the cleverest twist in DYRL, it works on so many levels. Funny, I never interpreted it that way before, I just assumed it was the usual Japanese antics for creeping in foreign language whenever they possibly can (and it does sound kind of cool). Now that you mentioned it, it made sense.
  10. I put my hands up for Ben Dixon's choice, love to see Travolta get shoot down. For those who ain't from Australia, Travolta is a bit of a comic relief from down under. Somehow, the idiot even became the spoke person for our old national airline Qantas and hugging all those beautiful flight attendants in photo shoot. Not fair. J-Lo as Minmay...um...can't remember if Minmay's bottom is as impressive as J-Lo...ah...what the hell, why not.
  11. Um...I suppose if Yamato is desperate enough, why not? By the way, check out the latest from the Camo 1/48 Gbp, Version 2 thread, Yamato does appear to be desperate.

Holy Sh**! This is a real devious plot from Yamato. My wallet can’t handle this anymore…I think it is time to call my bank loan manager. This is sick.
  13. Reading the New Record Price For Low Vis thread, I just had a thought: If Yamato is calling the Camo Valk "Low Vis Ver.2", this pretty much kills the possibility of re-issuing the original Low Vis. If they do try and re-issue the original Low Vis, how are they going to label the box? Maybe this explain the above insane Ebay transaction.
  14. I can see enlightenment from another Robotech fan...God bless MW forum. Oihan, I'm afraid it is true, Harmony Gold is Evil. Your mix feeling will slowly turn into rage when you realize HG had done nothing but sabotage Macross. AND, had the nerve to proclaim themselves to be the original creator, misleading a whole generation of anime fans outside Japan. Now, to complete your path to true wisdom, follow my lips and say: "I am a Macross purist, and I shall never fall for Harmony Gold's crap again."
  15. Help, serious stomach cramp from giggling. By the way, I heard Tokyo 3 is near completion, we just have to wait for the 3rd impact.
  16. Don't worry, nobody hates you. This is a forum, so people tend to argue hard for their views. Some of us are just a bunch of old hags trying to reminisce the VF-1 that we grew up with. I don't think anyone meant any harm. You should be glad that your thread had stirred up so much responds. Unfortunately for you, your alliance is a little thin, perhaps your reinforcement will arrive soon.
  17. Ah...Confucius said: "Never temper with classic, especially the VF-1"
  18. I don't know what the hell you got there, but I hate to say this, the camo pattern is actually a little better than the new low vis.
  19. Harmony Gold is that slit of smear that stuck between the edge of the toilet pan and the flusher – you keep wanting to get rid of it, but it keeps coming back.
  20. I adore Iijima's voice as Minmay but Iijima live as Minmay...Ah...I think I better stop right here before I am bombarded with hate mails .
  21. A devious but splendours plan. Let’s pray.
  22. Right from the start, Harmony Gold had been B Grade: - B Grade tapes used for B Grade filming; - B Grade script written by B Grade self proclaimed creator; - B Grade dubbing with B Grade dialogues (I puke every time I hear Hikaru being called Rick Hunter); - B Grade music with B Grade lyrics; - B Grade Valk toys along with many more other B Grade merchandise... - B Grade...B Grade...B Grade...all B Grades. So, how will a Harmony Gold Robotech live action turn out: B Grade CG!!. GIVE UP!!! HG!!!
  23. Macross preacher pretending to be an architect. If I knew I was going to be such a Valks addict, I should've entered the aviation field and design Valks instead of houses. I love both the Valks and Nausicaa's Mowe. In my next life, when I become an aerospace engineer, my dream project will be fast packing the Mowe…Yum...um...1/1 Strike Mowe. What!!! My office just finished upgrading to 2005. My boss ain't going to like this. Hey, Godzilla, when you finished programming the 2007, can you slip in an omake, say...when entre "Valkyrie" as the command, a 3D Valk would pop up. Wouldn't that be cool! .
  24. About a month ago, the MW homepage had a really nice pic of the GBP weathered custom. That particular GBP had a really nice leg art but I can't remember which one it is on Anasazi37's Cataloge. Does anyone still have the link for that?
  25. I have a little story here which I think many of you 1/48 collectors might be interested in, it touches on the whole complexity of “timing†when collecting, selling and buying the 1/48 Valks: Earlier this month, I picked up a Low Vis at Yahoo JP for 165,00 yen (approx $160 USD). I couldn’t believe my luck at the time, I always thought a Low Vis usually goes for around $300 USD. During the auction, not only do I noticed there were few bidders but they were also much less aggressive then other bidders I came across in the past on the 1/48 Valks market. Then, the following week, I heard the news of “Low Vis IIâ€. My immediate thought at the time was “Baka!!!, I got screwedâ€. I thought the seller must had heard the news earlier and tried to clear his Low Vis for a decent price before the “new Low Vis†swamps the market, and that must had been the reason why there were few bidders. Anyway, I had trouble sleeping that night, but when the good arrived, I was all OK again, because it was a nice Valk and I was contended. Now that we know “Low Vis II†is not really the re-issuing of the original Low Vis, I guess there would be a few sellers out there kicking their own heads. Does anyone have similar experiences with the Low Vis purchase lately? Whether your were the purchaser or the seller? I throw this story in because sometime we could be so blinded by our loves for Valks that we simply became sheep to the Yamato crew and buy/sell without really considering the real values of our beloved toys. I hope this story could be useful and mean something to somebody.
