  1. I always thought we all agreed that that particular mode is referred to as "Half-Gerwalk."
  2. I’d like to remember his amusing bits, like this one:
  3. Poor dude’s characters were always losing appendages (Dillon, Chubbs, AND Combat Carl).
  4. WAY BACK when Yamato first showed the prototype for their 1/60 YF-21, there were some complaints about how skinny the legs were. One of the old posters here (Eugimon) suggested that add-on parts be placed on the legs to make them look thicker for battroid mode. Someone else dubbed the idea Omega Pants (for obvious reasons), the name evolved to become “Eugimon’s Omega Pants,” and a running joke/meme was added to our message board that day.
  5. Dammit. Rest easy Action Jackson, Dillon, dude from Street Justice, Chubbs, and Greef Karga. EDIT: And he was Combat Carl in those Toy Story specials?!
  6. So basically, Eugimon’s Omega Pants(TM)?
  7. * A non-thicc side profile in battroid; * Hipguards that actually the match the length of the FP’s. * A Gerwalk mode that actually has the ventral vents on the underside. * An actual rotating cockpit gimmick that doesn’t require parts-forming. * A sleek, skinny fighter mode. . . . Yeah, I’m sticking with the 1/60 Yamato.
  8. Pretty certain I got a Matchbox version. And it does have those slot-holes in the legs. There’s just no spring or firing mechanism, but the holes are still there.
  9. I sometimes fancy the -21/-22 as a gunslinger rocking a duster coat. I know everyone complains about the skinny legs. But I’ll take the Yamato’s skinny fighter mode profile, its Gerwalk mode that actually shows the ventral vents, its hip guards (that actually match up with the length of the FP armors), and its non-thicc side profile in battroid mode all day (and twice on Sundays).
  10. Finally finished The Brothers Sun this weekend. It’s silly fun with some good action. Kinda smelled a key plot twist from a mile away. But yeah, it was still pretty enjoyable. And if you cause a man to burn his pastries, your ass is gonna catch a beatdown.
  11. I understand the sentiment. BUT they did launch this bonkers Vipers scene into our collective memories: So, I can forgive them the omission.
  12. I love the original Vipers and their 3 button control stick. But damn was it fun how the updated Vipers could flip on a dime in space. Made the dogfights a little more interesting.
  13. So many “Holy frakken crap!” moments in that show. Still one of my all time favorites to this day.
  14. I take it you haven’t seen much of Sam Esmail’s work? I could see him ramping up the whole “Cylons hiding among us” paranoia. . . while filming a scene completely off-center. I personally enjoyed a lot of his stuff. And while I still hold the Moore/Eick BSG in extremely high regard, I’d be curious to see what Esmail does with the concept.
  15. It gives Fisk a reason to not go after Maya anymore. He doesn’t want to deal with his issues, because he wants to keep that rage. In some deep dark crevice of his mind, he doesn’t want to confront that childhood trauma again, to feel weak again. And somehow he knows that she’ll force him to deal with it, if he goes after her again. Better for Fisk to go back, play mayor, and fall back to his old habits. Again, he’d rather bash someone’s skull in than deal with his ish. As for Maya, she was raging too, waging war and wanting to replace Fisk. It’s only after she honestly deals with her family hang-ups that she finally heals.
  16. You mean like how they did in Daredevil twice or how Maya shot him in the face in Hawkeye? Give them credit for trying something different, rather than spamming the hero tropes (you can’t be seriously suggesting another play on the hero fighting someone with similar powers bit, right?). As demented as Fisk is, he did take care of her as a daughter in his own weird, twisted way. And considering how much pain her own family caused her,
  17. And the only reason I got exposed to the original Frankie Valli version is because of a comment about how Karen O came up with this song and some of its musical influences: . . . And Marvel using it as the intro for Echo.
  18. Okay, I’m today years old in realizing this song: is a cover of this song: 🤯
  19. Finished up Echo. It’s solid. This is the Kingpin we should have gotten. Kinda read about using Maya’s ancestors as a theme for each ep. But the overall story worked. The end of series stinger has potential. There’s obvious stories that can come out of this. But if this allows us to bring back the “Luke Cage Corleone” story, I’d be all for it!
  20. Shush! If they’re not going to make different colored ones, extra accessories would be a good way to differentiate themselves from the other Treads/Betas that came before.
  21. I’m just curious how they’ll pull off the cockpit and whether there’s enough room in it for a full sized pilot. . . . Oh and whether they’ll add some missiles for the wing hardpoints and some sort of gun for the big lug.
  22. For me personally, I think the latest offerings have lack some psychological/emotional punch. Or the creative team have pulled back on their punches for my personal tastes. With the Obi series, Obi and Vader should have been throwing verbal nukes at each other (Vader to break Obi completely. Obi to bring back the good in Anakin). The big fight (with more rocks) didn’t do much for me. In Ahsoka, both Ahsoka and Sabine are too good at hiding their emotions. Just because they’re Jedi now doesn’t mean they’re at peace and all their inner conflicts and emotional baggage are magically resolved. We’ve gotten bits and some resolution with Ahsoka, but nothing yet with Sabine. Bringing it back to Mando, there’s potential for a story there (I got an idea brewing). But would it work for a theatrical release? Not sure.
