  1. Abs of Steel: Rear Ventral view, C&C People?
  2. Check out that body: Ok the main fuselage is complete, I just have to do the forward fuselage and nose to do. I will be redoing the engines though, I like how they came out but for some reason they weigh in at 60MB+ on their own and double the total file size. So I am going to redo them try and figure out what caused the problem in the first place and eliminate it. The next two pics I have split between the textured and untextured version to see how different it looks and see which brings out the panel lines better.
  3. I would hardly call the Yamato YF-19 horrid. For their frist toy it is really quite good, I would liken it to the Taka 1:55 VF-1, the Chunky Monkey. Compare any recently made VF-1 to a chunky Monkey, or even a custom and the new one or custom is worlds better. I'm sure that given what they have learned in the what, six years, since they made it that if they made a new one it would be worlds better. We can only wait and see about that though.
  4. Ok, the engines are done, but I may redo them, had some problems building them and they came out taking up way too much memory, 60 MB for all four to be exact. Also I had some problems with rendering once they were inserted, so I had to delete the light sources, I will try reinserting them later. Tomorrow I will start on the fuselage.
  5. why?
  6. Bumpity bumpity bump, status, updates come on...
  7. I'd say the closest you will come to a 1:48 shin/edgar figure is to try and recast the Low-Vis pilot.
  8. Does anyone have pics of the AOshima Die Cast? I ahve only seen one and it is very small.
  9. let's see some pictures people, some of us do npt have consoles, man I wish this would come out for the PC
  10. The F-5/T-38/X-29 family are all small craft, designed for short range, fighter in a shoe box role. Also can anyone tell me why WOV shows F-5s on the deck of the Nimitz, the F-5 is not a carrier capable aircraft. Oh and the first production F/A-22A roled off the line this week and was delivered to the Air Force.
  11. and with the texture map blended in
  12. the next two shots show the differences before and after the texture was applied.
  13. Ok, the weapons are mounted, the Anti-matter cannon and the missile pod, which has been detailed. I also added a basic color map that is 50% blended into the old base color. I will start on the engines tomorrow. Also I figured out why the new panel lines are so much harder to see, I'm not cutting them as thick as before, I will play with those on the engines. Let me know what you think.
  14. whatever happened to your project anyway Thor?
  15. Interesting choice for the doctor, I just hope he is more like the Tom Baker version of the doctor.
  16. Mine is a little over halfway there, won't be done for another hour, but I am off to bed soon so will leave it open all night.
  17. Ok, the anti-matter cannon is completed, including a new barrel, which actually has multiple barrels, they all fire at once though to make sure that the anti-matter does not react prematurely. The mechanism fully opens and closes and all the panels are on as well as a few more vents, and interface ports. I look forward to your comments. BTW the lighting is bad because I did this at work, I will make a render later with it attached to the rest of the fighter and hopefully get the barrel lights to work, they are not cooperating. Also if by 600 views there are no more comments I will stop posting updates until the end when I post the final WIP pretexture. Oh and those little holes on the side of the main unit right around the pivot joint, those are where the maintenance crews insert their manual hand cranks.
  18. I'm debating the same thing Graham, maybe when I go to costco tomorrow.
  19. Looks good but I think a more "human" face would look better then the anime face, but still very nice. BTW what software package are you using?
  20. Jeez Gray, horny much? I really admire your skill man.
  21. Very nice, the pilot looks excellent, what software are you using?
  22. ACtually I knew a guy who used to do things like that every year: Used tampons, pads, condoms, diaphrams, dildos, etc...
  23. Great work DB, can't wait to see the finished product.
  24. I believe the primary reasons behind the navy's decision to go with the F-4 above the SUper Crusader were: 1) Twin engine for better survivability 2) Two man crew, which was considered essential, and was, for using the Sparrow and other medium to long range ordnance 3) Looks, the Super Gator was not a pretty plane, almost made the PHantom pretty 4) Carrying capacity, the super gator did not have the carrying capability, IIRC, of the phantom 5) Concerns about the ventral fins striking the carrier deck 6) The navy, and all US fighter forces in general, were trying to get away from the gun fighters and wanted strictly missile birds, until that proved a bad idea, so an interceptor based off of a gunfighter would not have been acceptable to the admirality.
  25. is that 19 variable?
