    Yes, exactly that. Many people who are criticizing the animation focus more on the changes of some characters, or the supposed "woke propaganda" that the series is doing. But ignoring the fact that it is an alternative reality, that is, changes occur from universe to universe. I see that the series has problems, such as its lack of animation, which makes it tiring for much of the time, and the lack of a (ok, a little rushed now, considering we only have 2 episodes) focus on its main plot. But other than that, it's watchable for now.

    I don't know how licensing works in the US, but here, in Brazil, they are "less harsh". For example, Macross DYRL was released here on VHS in 1988 under the name Macross: The Final Battle; as for Robotech, the VHS tape was released as a feature film (combining 2 or 3 episodes) under the name Codename: Robotech in 1987. The two series were shown almost at the "same time", but on different channels. Robotech in 1990 on Rede Globo, and Macross in 1992 on Rede Record, both dubbed by the same company. In addition to the reruns on other channels of both. I don't know who currently owns the rights to both franchises, but as Disney+ hasn't released any Macross series yet, Robotech is on Crunchyroll here. I believe HG has done something about this.
