1. with the news of the 19 I felt the need to bring this thread back from the dead. If yamato makes destroids, what scale do you want them in?
2. wow, that's hardcore... makes me afraid to touch my garland now.
3. Should have bought one of those first imo. 1/48 vf1 is yamato's best toy still. (everything locks together, no looseness, enough gimmicks and detail to make it enough of a step above 1/60 to be worth the cash) The only achilles heel is stickers, the little gunstrap can sometimes rip, the backpack piece (especially with fast packs on) and the wrist for the chicken hands being a little limp when holding the gunpod. Once you get one, you want to own as many variants as you can. (shame they need we have to buy them imported though - I wonder if yamato will ever make the boxes smaller?) 411525 Ginrai, The limp back pack that Low viz mentioned is actually, IMHO, a non issue as long as you lock everything into place right with the hook and use the spare neck cover that is provided with the toy. As for the gunstrap I'd say as long as you don't sling it over the shoulder and tug at it expecting it to show the same level of durability that a strap for a 1/6th figure has then you should be okay. I rarely use the gunstrap anyway as I always thought it was kind of dumb. As for the hands, that is a serious design problem that no reissued version has really solved, the only thing I can say is that if you get any of the 1J's you get the alternative set of TV hands that not only look better but also have no floppyness either. And the stickers, are okay, they are just very toyish, not model grade decals which alot of people here want.
4. it looks like either a frog, or a really twisted teenage mutant turtle.
5. for 60ish bucks they'd BETTER be better. Imho how ever the SoC's dont' have the gnarly look of the anime. they're too upright, their necks too short. yadda yadda 411278 darn tooten, I was just admiring the fact that a 20 dollar toy has better engineering on the shoulders. I really wish my SOC's could pull off some of those poses.
6. 1/48s and the VF-0s minus the intransit breakage of the tail fins are fairly sturdy toys. I transform mine alot and havn't had a single problem. The most prone to breaking ones are the original YF-19, VF-11, and now it seems the Garland.
7. looking at these pictures, while I still think the SOC's are better, the way the revoltech did that arm articulation is supurb. I really wish bandai thought of that joint design for the should joints that allow for a greater range of outward motion.
8. Wasn't the critic done by the same people who did the simpsons? Anyway, I'd kill for that show to make a come back, it would have so much material to work with these days.
9. i'm not graham but i'll venture a guess and say they'll be plenty of these to go around. i think yamato has learned from their mistake when they released the 1A lowviz as a limited valk. just imagine how many more they could've sold if they didn't put 'limited version' on the box? d'oh! 410951 I wonder if the "popularity" of the low visibility VF-1A is due to the product itself or the limited numbers. Maybe Yamato should make some more just to see. 410955 after shelling out 400+ for a low viz, and if yamato re-released it, I think I'd have to kill some one. 410956 I overspent on a low-vis myself (not as much as you did ) but still overspent. Lots of beer and ebay = bad. Anyway, I really wouldn't mind if there were more released so more people could have them. 410957 No... I want low viz's to remain small in number so the value goes up so I can sell it in ten and buy that island i've always wanted.
10. *sigh*, to go from Ghandi and Schindler's List into the jaws of Uwe Boll. Kingsley what are you thinking? Then again, Ben was in "Species" 410960 Don't forget he was also in Sound of Thunder and Suspect Zero, guys been making some odd movie choices lately.

12. Tho Im 100% satisfied with what Yamato have so far, Id be 150% even more satisfied if they can adjust the design with what Crazu Canuck susggested....daymn that looks so much better eventho the current design is good enuff...why didnt they just do it in 1/48 scale? before anyone else jumps in and say "you know how big 1/48 YF-19 is?", Yes, I do know how big they are and I absolutely dont mind bigger scale valks with bigger boxes...and bigger guns, bigger pilots, bigger this bigger that.........I want big toyss 410926 Hi all, I agree with you on the 1/48 scale, heck, I even posted this much about the new 19.... Though after some thought I think that yamato wants the 1/48 scale to be excluded only to the vf-1, as it is yamato's prize winning valk to date in terms of anime accuracy..... Though I could be wrong..... 410945 Just keep in mind that this 1/60th 19 is gonna be close in size to a 1/48 VF-1. The 19 like the Zero is a bigger bird.
13. Soccer slow? Ever watch baseball? I'm not a major sports fan, but Soccer always seemed like a fairly fast paced game to me.
14. It looks like it's at a river bank. Doesn't look like it'll float. 410836 Hmm, I don't know there must be someone here good in physics that can calculate if it's able to float 410902 still, as a leggo construct, wouldn't it be leaky?
15. Heh, yea. It was pretty ugly how we went out, oh well. On a side note, I'm kind of surprised football isn't as popular here in the States as it is with the rest of the world! Oh well though, I'm enjoying these games! 410877 I envy that about the US. You are lucky to live in a country that isn't obsessed with JUST ONE FREAKING sport all year. I would enjoy seeing a good game now and then but here in Spain it’s like the world stops (the sports section in the news could just be called "soccer" because that is all they talk about). Everywhere you look they are stuffing soccer down your throat (and with the WC, even more). I just get sick. 410884 I think that depends on where you live in the states, for example, go to Boston and you'll find what might once have been an obsession has become a religion.
16. anyone got any official kawamori line art of the yf-19 to post?
17. hell take a year and a half, I need time to get money.
18. I'm considering the FMA figures. And if Medicom did a Vash and Wolfwood I'd get them in a heart beat as well.
19. I actually wonder if gundam fans in Japan compain as much about redesigns as we do. Though lets remember, there are a billion version of every gundam, so even if you don't like Katoki's revision you can still probably easily nab a rendition you like as there are billions of different gundam toys and models damn you bandai, stop it with the gundam already... diversifiy.... The reason is that Gundam fans have Gundams of every shape and size and version already. They already have "true" versions of many of the Katoki or ver. Kas or Fix Figuration, etc. in hundreds of toys and models, etc. With transfans, most of them have been waiting their entire childhoods AND adult lives to be given an accurate to cartoon Starscream and then were shown the first picture in anticipation and then summarily disappointed and had their hopes dashed after all those years. 410713 my point exactly, if there were a starscream hybrid model, then great, Kawamori knock yourself out with revision. but this is supposed to be the definitive G1 styled SS toy.
20. I went back and watched blackhole again, not an awful film, still it's a movie whose production design has more merit than the actual story.
21. I personally am going to miss the bulk it had in the line art, but I do realize this is absolutly necissary for the YF-19 not to look like a flying pregnant whale in fighter mode so I can live with it. 410658 with the new thicker fuselage it already looks pretty bulky in fighter mode.. if those shoulders were beefed up anymore, I would be screaming bloody murder about how my lovely valkyrie was being turned into some kibbly flying box of a transformer. 410674 Oh slam

23. I see.... I didn't realize you were into that kind of thing... 410641 Look at those high heels! There are no tail feathers on his feet! The MPC version 2 "Electric Boogaloo" is dead on! 410642 yes yes, what ever you say, *is being mesmerized by other aspects of this oh so wrong picture*
24. I see.... I didn't realize you were into that kind of thing...
25. I suppose they scrapped it for the same reason the 1/100 VF-0 was scrapped, figured, lets skip the crap and move right onto a larger more impressive mold cause we know our loyal macross valkaholics will buy it not matter what?
