Eva's okay, but is easily one of the most overrated animes in the fandom. I think people, unable to process its absolutly bizarre and f'ed up endin figure, "I don't get it, Thus, it must be deep."

I am really glad I am not a transfan...that box is embarrasing. And, after seeing the photoshopped MP SS in "anime" colors, I'm glad they aren't doing that. I forgot how garish he looked. If they are gonna take a seeker and tweek the design so it "looks better," why wouldn't you want them to tweek the color as well? Maybe it's the Macross fan that takes color to mean everything, but SS was a grey F-15 that turned into a giant robot. This is a SUPA cool grey F-15 that turns into a SUPA cool giant robot. I read the complaints, but I honestly don't understand them outside of "fanatical fanboy ravings" and I know from experiance on this board that Mr. Hingtgen is usually level headed, so I'm a bit confused. Soon as I have the money, I'm pickin' this guy up. oh, and: excellent point 423910[/snapback] StarScream is a little more than a mecha. He is a fan favorite character. Also his color scheme was one of his main distinguishing features. This toy was supposed to promise us a masterpiece representation of StarScream. The thing that primarily distingished him from the other seekers, other than his personality, was his paint scheme. It is part of his character. I'm not certain I'd feel very happy if someone promised me a masterpiece Darth Vader and suddenly decided he looked better in white. It really wouldn't be that hard to make him a lighter grey and paint his hip armor red as it really wouldn't interfere at all with his real world fighter scheme. That said, I'm still getting this toy as it looks very cool. It's just disapointing that they chose to respect real world source material more than the transformer universe's source material. As for David, I think he's frustrated because for him this toy fails at being an accurate representation of the cartoon robot and of the real world fighter it's supposed to represent.

The front landing gear doors on the VF-1 made out of plastic. These chip to easily when you try to pry them open.

Not only would swappable geat probably allow for many new transformation possibilities, it would probably look better too. Allowing for intricate detail to the gear that would not have been possible if it were fully functional.

You missed my point. For some reason they decided to make him into a realistic jet, but they screwed up on the conformal fuel tanks on the side of the intakes, and his freaking cannon is on the wrong side. Seems to me like the cannon was a foolish mistake, maybe theres a reason to have the conformal tanks the way they are. And the colors. Like I said, they have grown on me. I'd buy it if it weren't for the hip and shoulder pieces hanging off. Also, if I had this as a kid it would probably have been broken the first day I had it. It doesn't look very durable. 422203[/snapback] It's probably going to be as durable as any binaltech. And this isn't for kids, this is for adult collectors.

If there is any single thing I am disapointed by is the lack of perfect transformation with the nullrays.

In addition to constructive criticism, I think we should also limit this thread to realistic suggestions. IE: no $20.00 1/48's Mine would be 1) Crystal clear canopies 2) Include an optional set of DYRL non-articulated hands 421925[/snapback] Don't forget the optional side pieces. A upgrade accessory pack would be fantastic. I'd also like to see any future re-releases of the old 1/48 VF-1s tampo printed up. Oh, and smaller boxes.

I really hope destroids are in the works at least.

If an MPC Beta is not made I at least hope the 1/100 line that toynami is making does well enough for them to potentially move into Alpha's and then maybe Betas.

That aside he is worth getting for bot mode. If the planet mode was better I would have bought two, but really this Unicron is only worth displaying in robot mode.

Never seen that for transformers, I did once see that done for super robots, and there is an entire website dedicated to that for sci-fi starships.

I've recently picked up a few really great vintage MISB transformers and SW figures and I was wondering if I should get them AFA grades. While I don't care so much about the grades they receive those acrylic boxes look really nice for protective purposes. Is it worth it?

Never heard of this problem with the VF-0 before. I've heard of tail fin spikes, and loose joints. thats about it. Sorry to hear about your breakage.

It's really funny, normally I love the unpainted protos but feel disapointment once they get colored. Here I'm feeling compleatly the opposite way. I did not like the uncolored protos at all, but I really dig it when colored up. Weird. As for the toon colors. It looks like I'm going to have to pay through the rear on ebay for one

thanks for the pic... that color scheme is so disapointing... it's not cartoon accurate OR realistic... that's just sad because the sculpt itself is so beautifully done. 417988[/snapback] The base color as a jet strikes me as fairly close to the grey most military aircraft are painted. I actually like the use of the duller red. As a revision I don't think it's half bad. I'll get this and really hope a more toon accurate color scheme is released. Though if the reaction to this current scheme is very negative, how hard can it be to change color schemes?
