You could top sh9000's, you just gotta be willing to do the ritual sacrifice to your wallet, bank account and possibly your relationship. Because we all want to army build, most of us just can't make that commitment for various reasons. For me, HMR are the most playable Macross toys on the current market. They feel well built, solid, and are fun to handle and transform. They are reasonable affordable and (subjectively) easier to replace. Smaller and lighter results on less stress on the joints which means saggy bits occur later in it's life. Parts swapping is minimal. I did lose a landing gear cover plate on my cubical Valkyrie. I heard it bounce off the ground twice and it promptly warped into some quantum realm. I moved all the furniture and have never found it. The part stands out easily against the floor too! Total mystery...

I would like this as an armor set for this:
  4. Perhaps a Bandai reissue? The plastic is newer and thus, hopefully, a lot less brittle. Bandai Takatoku reprinted / Macross VF-1J Ichijo Hikaru's Machine / Takatoku reprint / Macross 1/55
  5. The level of incompetence shown by "Rebel" leadership in Episodes 7 & 8 has turned me into a Empire supporter. I've concluded that the Empire is the lawful and legitimate government and the "Rebels" are no more than terrorists. I'm surprised by how much I like the Disney Marvel series and how much I don't like the Star Wars movies. The B/SF-17 heavy bomber still bothers me. Attaching rocket engines on the "bombs" would have made way more sense to me. I'll likely still watch Episode 9, it just may not be in the Theater.
  6. I had the CF version of that toy. I played with it until an arm and the swing bar broke off.

  8. I only watched to the end of Jonathan Joestar's story.
  9. This is my YetiStand setup. I like to double elbow for various reasons.
  10. You cannot anymore. Some individual(s) was using downvotes as a personal grudge or some kind of running joke. See no3Ljm's avatar; it was made during that time.
  11. I watched the 1st season of Jojo as it aired and really wanted to like it. It looked a lot like Hokuto no Ken. It just wasn't for me. I never liked any of the characters. Although I did finish watching the entire 1st season, it was something I had to make myself do.
  12. Just for the record... Legit US Navy stuff turns pink after a few years in the sun... Well they did for a long time...
  13. No joke, I read this thread for the rants. They amuse me so.

Sprue marks weren't really noticeable to me until the Spartan came out. I could just be that the color made they stand out more.
  15. I wonder if we will ever see this "Missile Set."
  16. Well, you know how it goes, save your money and spend it on something else you like better. As I've been reading these boards for the past three years or so, there really seems to be no "perfect" toy. There's always something to complain and nit-pick about. Tons of production errors in the original show really doesn't help. All the toys seem to cost at least double what we all would like to pay for them. Exchanges and replacement parts are very difficult to get as most of these toys are not meant for sale outside Japan. The list goes on and on. It doesn't seem like any company makes anything without issues. We all just "settle" for now and maybe buy the next marginally better toy series that comes out next. "Bandai" and "Arcadia" do make critical decisions in "their" designs, but the name "T-REX" stands out a bit more to me these days. "T-REX" also seems to mean "add 50% to the retail price." I'm totally getting one of these, but I'm also totally expecting the missiles to fall off all the time like the VF-4G.
  17. Enterprise is almost a cursed name for a ship. Far too many of the star-ships named Enterprise never make it to their end of service decommissioning. There is something seriously wrong with movie writers.
