  1. Worse. We'd have the train wreck that is RT in a live action atrocity!
  2. Do you think they know about Macross Delta?
  3. Someone noted the Doki-Chihiro subs are better, but I haven't seen them yet. Typically over time other sub groups will chime in on their renditions of the series as they take more time to generate releases than the GG or Doki-Chihiro groups who are the early release groups. To get the subs within hours of the air time, they have to take short cuts and liberties with the work.
  4. RT's website used to sell the left over inventory from Anime Eigo when they demanded all the left over inventory after they didn't renew AE's license (I managed to get my set at their fire sale before the end), but when the AE stock was sold out that is all there was. HG didn't have the right to use the remastered Japanese audio tracks made by AE, because AE licensed those directly from Japan, so even the Harmony Gold DVD's with the Japanese audio tracks and subs are not the same and inferior to the actual AE releases.
  5. For some maybe. For me, a fan who could happily see 7 cut in half to find it tolerable, I like Delta. Reasonble explanations are given for the state of technology and how fold song works. A song has not yet stopped a Quantum Cannon blast, the Valks have no ridiculous faces or boobs, civilians are not expected to "drive" on light bridges in outer space, and there is a new song (arrangement) every 2 or 3 episodes. Equal attention is given to mecha battles, music and universe building, I am satisfied so far...
  6. Fair enough. However, if you read your text, it wasn't "only" about anti-semitism. It was a specific founding principle, however not the only one and not the only group considered "inferior". What brought the Nazi's to power was not their racism and I'm sure you know that it wasn't that simplistic. That being said, any further discussion on this topic should be taken out of this thread.
  7. So what if the Var syndrome is an artificial aggressor gene, originally produced for the Zentradi and it has been dormant in successive "children". The apple / PC water combination was either a tool used by the PC commanders to enhance the aggressiveness of their troops or an unexpected side affect of combining the molecular make up of both items. The TSF discovered how to deal with the symptoms, but are still determining the cause. Now with Walkurie getting that done, the next step is to find out if it can be cured?
  8. You are forgetting the Sheryl was Mao Nome's grand daughter and Isamu came back at the climax of Wings of Goodbye in a cameo. SK isn't above relating new characters to old, but he does balk at direct sequels to previous productions. Hence why we'll never see a show about the Megaroad 01.
  9. I'll take your word for it. I am not as well versed in WW2 Japanese history as I am with German.
  10. Well this would be the catalyst for Windemere escalation. If their covert war fails, they will have to switch to an overt one and things will get ugly quickly.
  11. Nazism wasn't all about racial purity. It started out as a movement to reclaim surrendered lands after peace treaty of WW1 and when they achieved total power, it went horribly wrong and completely psychotic under Hitler and his inner circle. The first boogiemen were the Soviets which brought them to power, then the Jews, Gypsies, Poles, etc... followed after they got total power. The adage that absolute power corrupts absolutely is perfectly illustrated in that era.
  12. Makina is a decendant of the Chief mechanic from Zero, Mirage is the grand daughter of Max, these are tie in's to previous series, but unlike M7 none of the previous characters were brought back. Perhaps SK felt it was needed for M7 since it had been nearly a decade since SDFM.
  13. Well that's a credible explanation. Pure fold quartz and fold song can combine to open a window into Super Dimensional power. It could be an insight into how the biology of the Vajra works. With Bogue referring to Windemere as the "Fatherland" it further supports my theory that they are a metaphor for the Nazi regime, at least Roid and the Ariel Knights are. Junna did a better than usual job of singing English lyrics (not as good a Megumi Nakajima) but very good nonetheless. It was very much taking "What 'Bout My Star" to the next level and including more than half the song in English. I recall the difference between Megumi singing English lyrics compared to May'n. You could tell which was more comfortable with the language.
  14. Hmmm, wonder if he's referring to Isamu? Hayate may be Isamu's son, or perhaps someone as gifted a pilot with the same cavalier attitude as Isamu.
  15. How many Gundam producers and writers are there? In Macross, no one other than SK seems to be trusted to tell the stories, so you are very limited there as the guy is also the head of Satellite...
  16. THAT would be totally COOL!!! That pretty much sums it up, aka "You can't go home again..." Hey isn't that called a Re*.... Never mind...
  17. It also depends on how the NUNG views the MDE explosion during the revolutionary war. If they think it was an accidental detonation of a NUNS weapon they wouldn't see the greater threat. If they discover it is a home grown weapon or a left over PC weapon, they'll be forced to act. They would order whichever nearby Federal fleet(s) to deploy in the cluster. They wouldn't send a Task Force directly from the core systems. If that were to happen, it would be cool to see what the VF-24 was capable of in combat (not to mention more Hasegawa kits ).
  18. I recall this, he also mentioned the NUNG has its own political problems (perhaps implying that sending a Federal Task Force to the region may be politically difficult). I liken this to NATO twisting itself in knots to avoid the term "genocide" in Rwanda and Serbia. To give the conflicts that label would require NATO to directly intervene, which they didn't want to do.
