I can agree with @no3Ljm and @skullmilitia as well. For those who had the G1 Fortress Max back in '88 and still have it now, the Encore #23 (which was released back in 2013) has a different plastic feel than compared to the original one. Can I say that plastics now can take more of a flexibility (until it reaches to a certain point and then it breaks as well all know) than compared to years ago and that different composites of materials/price/manufacturing process have evolved over the course of time.

If your hypothesis is correct @no3Ljm, I think that a fair bit of us that wants the newer SV-51 will be disappointed on the killer price; however Arcadia is focusing on the market for people that are willing to folk $$ for the products that they want it (just remembered my commercial property terminology now: psychographics).

Also from Gwyn Cambell's twitter page back in August when the DX VF-1J was in display at Akihabara (I think). His twitter page goes back so much and I knew that I posted it on of the other Macross forums. Note that one of this friends went along as well and snuck in his own copy of the 1/48 Yammie for comparisons (surprisingly that the two of them didn't get caught in doing so). Edit: Or just see the vid that @peter has posted.

How yellowed is your Yammie 1/48? The DX VF-1J is a brighter white than compared to the Yammie version. Let me sift through the DX VF-1J thread as I'm sure that there is one with the Yammie 1/48 in comparison. I'll post it here once I find it (or if anyone beats me to the challenge).

I think that it's fair to say that all of us will be on the edge of the upcoming SV-51 price wise as we all know how Arcadia works. First with the regular release to get sales and interest and then "WHAM" the Premium version follows out a few years later as we all look back at the VF-1 and the SDF-1. [Actually not to give Arcadia ideas: I haven't seen a PE Version of the VF-1J with the GBP. You can toss me into the frying pan with that idea folks. ]

I should start getting the Bounty Hunters again (minus the Fett as I have the SDCC version already but I like the archive packaging. I just get another one anyways). Had Bossk (with other figures as well) and had to trade it in at my LCS as I was cleaning out my Black series 6 inch collection. You should post this in the 1/6th thread as well. -
Just reading on Sanity's and WaferMouse's reply, I originally wanted the C then switched to J Kai, due to the better colours than the F. Found out that the J Kai was a lottery so aimed for the S. Got the C at a price that I could afford and held off on getting the S. Movie F followed months later and unsure on getting the S as I planned to get the Arnoured packs. Have Supers for C and F. Saw the Armoured Pack for the S with 6 stands supporting the sucker and wondering about the joints after a period of time, called off in getting the Armoured packs (takes up a whole Detolf shelf as a complete unit). Still holding off on the S for now, eventually will get it plus Supers (and the Speaker pod if it gets made).

@Saviant: 16k yen for the Movie Messer is a good deal, however the "glue glob" has gotten me and others curious. If it was dusty, I'll let it pass; however I do give each valk I receive gets a lookover and a wipe down with a microfibre cloth (slightly damp). If you want the Supers, you're going to resort going through Proxies to get it.

As of my post on December 29th, Amiami has it as well. Slightly cheaper than NY, however the prices of valks varies from store to store. After passing over the MP Fuso brothers, I managed to get Artfire. My copy had a few paint flaws and the combination of combining Grapple and Inferno's exterior mold differences makes him unique plus the colour scheme/tampo graphs makes it pop out more than compared to his brothers. The Targetmaster is not the best (and others are saying that as well), however I'll give TT credit for trying.

Ha Ha!! l looks like that Megs is not pleased after disposing Screamer and now he has another player to contend with.. Grimmy on the other hand is not even flinching... Bugs aside, still going to pick up the Strike Hikaru sometime later on this year.

And sold out for now. So my guestimate was off on my post on the 30th of last month (of mid-25k yen). With this version of the DX VF-1J in 1/48 scale, hopefully that the latter versions of this mold will be refined.
