Wow..... random indeed. I knew from the out set this place would be nowhere near the western world! Humungy Gawd and Paramount would have been all over it. Dont think I will be going though it gets terrible reviews

The Creality printers are so versatile. My Ender 3 has easily paid for itself several times over. A few choice mods make it so much better than its starting point. Its a great printer straight out of the box.

The really great thing about 3D printing is the ability to print something that would have normally taken me days to produce by hand, then cast if I wanted more than one. Now I just design and print, come back in a few hours and its ready, no fuss . Also if I got it wrong in someway, I didn't waste hours of my time. Since getting a printer my thoughts are “can I print it” when ever i need a solution to something.

As long as they dont keep banging on "I used to be a man" that will get old quickly. The whole female empowerment thing is fine by me but the current trait of ramming in the face of the populous, is at best a distraction to story lines at worst a complete turn off in the viewing sense. I wonder how long it will be till Holly Weird adjusts its current passion for reboots and filmised versions of TV series and starts a reboot but everyones gender reversed rewrite of all the "classics" Jesus of Nazereth, is Jenny of Nazereth The A team but all strong female rolls instead B.A Baracus is Barbara Anne Baracus and hates boys, not planes. Starbuck is a girl..... Oh wait they did that and it actually worked....... You get the idea

Well working backwards, the theme music works very well, I am not 100% but im sure I heard somewhere the BBC Radiophonic workshop were on board with it. I heard so many bits of the old themes in there. I liked it. Massive nod to the Tom Baker credits too visually. So I agree a female Doctor works, I saw bits of Capaldi, Baker (both), Pertwee and Tennant\Smith in the character. Im sure that her character will develope. Im interested to see how the story developes considering the end of the episode.

Not quite Macross but near enough to say the producers or concept team must be TF or Macross fans. . Transforming planes that help people, all have a Gerwalk mode. Its obviously aimed at kids and cashing in on the movie franchise of Cars and Budgie the helicopter. I see this as an excellent route into Macross for my little one. My wife is not keen on Anime, shes one of those who still thinks cartoons = kids.

Its worth a try. the metal used is an alloy mix of stuff including magnesium. so not likely anyone will be able to cast it but similar or hard resins should be ok.

I'm sure I remember a post on here some time back where a user was able to buy parts from either Yamato or Acadia, I think you had to have an address in Japan though. I guess there would be some one here who could help out in that area. That said could someone cast you the part from a working VF-25A ?

It’s still down to dpi on the scans the difference between homemade and industrial is massive. One day soon we will have it though.

They have a very nice and very very expensive scanner where my brother works and use it along with the rapid prototyping system they have to build mock ups before committing engineers to build it in the exotic metals normally used. One of my old clients makes have one they use when scanning in clients dentures before using the data to make new bits, along with using the data from cat scans and 3D X-rays . They even have a 3D ceramic mill. They did once say if ever I needed anything scanned I should just ask. The tech is out there just way too expensive for “normals” to buy and use in the shed at home currently. 5-10 years from now will be a different matter IMO.

In this age of 3D scanners and printers, how difficult would it be to scan a 1/72 one and make the adjustments for 1/60 and then print masters ?

I feel your pain, I just found out my storage shed at my folks house has a leak in the roof we’ve had some heavy duty rain here in the last few weeks , they never go in it and didn’t know, it’s leaked enough that the floor is like a pool and all my tools and motor bike and vintage car bit are soaked and some may be too far gone. Years ago when I worked at a friends model shop we tried to get Hasegawa to send us some decals for a VF1, they declined as despite having a store mostly full of their kits, it was “not allowed outside of Japan” but strangely we did get a couple of VFs as a promo ? I think the best bet is to get someone in Japan to do the deal and send them on.
