I've had the tight rear foot issue on a couple of my HMR VF-1s. I can't remember exactly which ones, but I think it's only been on a couple of my VF-1A CFs. I just lived with it,since it didn't seem to want to loosen beyond a certain point. I'll have to go back and look at it again. I haven't opened my either of my VT-1s yet.

So @amptor, why do you like to buy so many of certain valks? I can definitely understand reasons for getting multiples (keep MISB, open for display, "just in case", etc) and of course for army-building (like with the CF) but 10 seems like a lot. Not judging, of course. Just curious.

I just realized that they positioned each armor set below the valk it was intended for. Nice arrangement -- and marketing ploy!

That 1/100 display stage is incredible! I'd love to get one, but there's absolutely no way I'd have the space for it.

Just from keeping an eye on the usual sites like Mandarake, Jungle, Amazon JP. Some came from extra Hi-Metal VF-1S Roys. I'm fairly certain that @sh9000 has more than I do.

Got around to finishing this one off.  While nothing in particular stands out, it does provide a nice overview of the Macross universe leading up to the start of MF.  If anything, the character outlines at the start of the series are of particular interest.

Are you not interested in tracking down the original Hi Metal super parts? They seem to be a bit more readily available than they were a few months ago.

I haven't yet seen 7 (planning to start correcting that next week) and also haven't seen Delta, but like @Bolt, there's something I can appreciate about every Macross series I've seen. (Even Macross II... )

Sounds like it's the same pair that a lot of us picked up.

And @Slave IV, I think the blue accents of the 202 look great with the blue visor of the Messer.

I'm aware of the Kakizaki VF-1A prototype, though that was a while ago.

Yes, the HMR super parts fit just fine on the older Hi-Metal VF-1s. The mold is exactly the same. I currently have the blue HMR strike Roy parts on one of my original HM Roys. And I'm getting ready to put the HMR super Hikaru parts on my HM Hikaru 1A. (I think the original white looks better than the HMR gray.)

The GBP will not fit since it requires a removable nosecone, which the originals don't have.

Got my VT-1 shipping notice from NY.

I'm noticing several people are putting the Fext armor on the VF-1S Messer. Is this because the white color goes well with the parts, or because that valk is more attractive with its paint scheme covered?

However, I can tell the difference between the Kakizaki painted legs and molded intakes, but they have the benefit of not being right next to each other, so that example does not inspire confidence. 

Of more concern to me is the seemingly dull orange Bandai went with compared to the rich orange of the Yamato. Here's hoping it's just a lighting issue and the actual product is deliciously orange. 

In the HMR line, Bandai's track record of matching paint and plastic colors seems to be pretty good. I went back and looked at Max and Milia's VF-1Js, and they just about nailed it there. the VF-1A CF is also very good, if not as close of a match. I'm hopeful that what we actually get on the VT-1 will look better than the above photos.

Wow, those colors do look disappointing. But I'll hold out hope that under proper lighting the colors are better. Any chance that's a prototype and not final?

On the other hand, the box art looks really nice.

@Mommar and @Sanity is Optional -- your Max and Hikaru are looking really good in those. I was also going to armor up my spare Hikaru with the 101.

@Saburo -- the HMR Hikaru 1A looks great in the 011, and your photos are excellent as always.

Interesting that in some cases, these parts seem to match better color-wise with the original Hi-Metals. Any have an original bright white Hikaru 1J and a 000 or 101 set they could try together?
