As usual, standard Roy Fokker colors looks good on any VF
There may be some canon explanation that I’m not aware of, but why is the pilot’s helmet yellow? Roy wouldn’t have still been alive when the VF-4 was deployed. Is this just a “what if” scheme?
Still, though, it’s great to see how they might offer some additional variations on the VF-4. The list of teased-but-not-yet-produced HMR continues to grow....

19P is my favorite of Yamato's 19 series.
I didn't know that Yamato had actually made a VF-19P. It is cool-looking (if a little obscure) design, and part of a key scene in M7 Dynamite.

Cool Starscream. Nice to see they’re continuing that line or ornaments.

So did MyKombini ever have the VF-4 for preorder? I didn’t notice it mentioned in the madness, and I don’t see it on their site.

Wow, thanks! That would be great. I’ll PM you about details.

Yeah, I had thought of that, but with Amazon’s price and Tenso’s fees, I think I could do better from AE or maybe Mykombini at this point.

Just got up and see that it's sold out at NY and HLJ, my usual go-to places.
Has Amazon listed this yet?

I too feel bad for anyone having to follow Yoko Kanno.
For real. Her work in Plus and Frontier really helps contribute to those series as good as they are. And hearing the Plus tracks in 7 was nice, as well.
Speaking of 7, I finally finished watching it, and I have to say that overall I enjoyed it, even with its flaws. This makes Delta the only Macross I haven’t seen, and based on the comments here, I don’t know if I’m up for it. If any new series veers back towards the approach of older installments (though preferably without the primitive tribal aspects of Dynamite and Zero), I’d be very interested.

Thanks! Just put in my preorder. I’m no longer regretting missing the initial PO.

Great collections and displays guys! I like the cleaner displays like that. Not that there's anything wrong with cramming as many battroids as you can onto a single shelf, but it's great to have them a little spaced out so each valk can stand out more.
Totally agree. I think giving them some space to breathe helps you to better appreciate each one more.

The battroid photos above show 3 different poses for the right hand (open, fist, and gun grip) so that tells me they have to be swappable, unless Bandai is able to make them articulated, which would seem really tough at this scale.

However they’re packaged, along with correct missile tip colors, I mainly hope they use different colors for TV and movie super parts, like Yamato did. The Hi Metal 1/100 super parts seemed to be intended for the DYRL valks, and were molded as such, but they were closer to TV color. Not until Hi Metal R did Bandai give us the bluer movie-colored parts.
I think something like the model sets that @jvmacross posted above would be ideal.

Not if it's 1:6000, as labeled. The Megahouse is 1:5000. That's a significant difference, as any Star Trek collector can tell you.
I was under the impression that the WHAM was 1/5000 and the Megahouse Cosmo Fleet was about 1/6000.

It would be impossible to transform, at that scale... although I suppose some fiber-optic lighting is feasible.
They could make it a parts-former like the Megahouse. In fact, this basically looks to me like the movie version of the Megahouse SDF-1. It’s the same scale.

How about 3 to display one in each mode?
But seriously, I’m in the same camp. The VF-4 just looks so good in fighter, especially compared to other modes.

Does it transform? Will it have LED lights like the other Kikan Taizen ships? And why is Bandai competing with themselves? (Megahouse is a Bandai subsidiary.)
The Megahouse SDF-1 was a TV version, so maybe this is not direct competition.

Very cool about the new super parts. Now can we get a VF-1S to go with those?

I have multiples of the original Hi Metal VF-1S and VF-1A and none of them have any noticeable signs of yellowing. That said, they’re made of a different color plastic that might tend to resist (or camoflage) yellowing better than the bright white of the Hikaru VF-1J — like @jenius, I’ve definitely seen multiple examples of that one yellowing to varying amounts.

Think we may have to support more than just their Macross figs....pretty sure it cost them more to design and bring those 1/72 to market....if those fail it may be bad news for everything else they may want to release in terms of Macross....
I’ve been really curious about the 1/72 VF-1, though I didn’t order one. I’m interested to see how it turns out. Was there any kind of preview of it, perhaps a video, beyond the images on the RT site?

So the second series of 1/100 armor is going to be more different color schemes? That’s great to know that the first series was successful enough that they would extend the line.

Same here. I'm also still hoping they do a VF-1S Roy TV version.
I think all these additional VF-1 versions, Destroids, Zentradi, etc. that many of us are waiting for are eventually going to get made. But Bandai has shown they like to mix up the releases. So far, it's just been SDFM, DYRL, II, and now FB2012. I wonder if they're going to start to dip into designs from other series (7, Zero, etc) before they finish SDFM. I believe they know people want the classics, and it's a way to (somewhat annoyingly) keep people's attention on the line. "And oh, by the way... you'd probably like one of these while you're waiting, right?"

So glad to see another HMR announcement, and for such an iconic piece. I want to see what the pilot figure looks like.
As far as the price, I agree it seems a little high, but this is an all-new, fairly complex mold which Bandai hasn’t yet had a chance to milk, like they have with the VF-1 from 2010. I think this (along with larger size and super parts) was why the VF-2SS was even more expensive.
I guess the March 2019 release date mans we need to get ready to PO this in a week or two?

I think it’s unlikely we’ll see any VF-4 variants released any time soon. I expect (or hope) that Bandai catches up on other previous “display only” pieces first. Given that we may only see 4-5 HMR Macross releases each year, there’s enough already teased to keep the pipeline full for the next 3 years!
