No modex seen on the rudders! ... break out the rubbing alcohol! ;)

Based on my experience, it’s going to take something stronger than that to remove Bandai’s tampo paint.

To be honest, I’m probably gonna leave this in fighter mode. I like the other modes, but the vf4 always looks better  in fighter.

How about 3 to display one in each mode? :D

But seriously, I’m in the same camp. The VF-4 just looks so good in fighter, especially compared to other modes.

  2. I have multiples of the original Hi Metal VF-1S and VF-1A and none of them have any noticeable signs of yellowing. That said, they’re made of a different color plastic that might tend to resist (or camoflage) yellowing better than the bright white of the Hikaru VF-1J — like @jenius, I’ve definitely seen multiple examples of that one yellowing to varying amounts.

Think we may have to support more than just their Macross figs....pretty sure it cost them more to design and bring those 1/72 to market....if those fail it may be bad news for everything else they may want to release in terms of Macross....;)

I’ve been really curious about the 1/72 VF-1, though I didn’t order one. I’m interested to see how it turns out. Was there any kind of preview of it, perhaps a video, beyond the images on the RT site?

I'm still waiting for the VF-1D, and TV versions of Max and Kakizaki's VF-1As.

Same here. I'm also still hoping they do a VF-1S Roy TV version.

I think all these additional VF-1 versions, Destroids, Zentradi, etc. that many of us are waiting for are eventually going to get made. But Bandai has shown they like to mix up the releases. So far, it's just been SDFM, DYRL, II, and now FB2012. I wonder if they're going to start to dip into designs from other series (7, Zero, etc) before they finish SDFM. I believe they know people want the classics, and it's a way to (somewhat annoyingly) keep people's attention on the line. "And oh, by the way... you'd probably like one of these while you're waiting, right?"

  5. So glad to see another HMR announcement, and for such an iconic piece. I want to see what the pilot figure looks like.

As far as the price, I agree it seems a little high, but this is an all-new, fairly complex mold which Bandai hasn’t yet had a chance to milk, like they have with the VF-1 from 2010. I think this (along with larger size and super parts) was why the VF-2SS was even more expensive.

I guess the March 2019 release date mans we need to get ready to PO this in a week or two?

  6. I'm fairly confident this means an HM-R VF-4 (and possibly a series of 19s like VF-19 and YF-19) is on the way, which would be sweet. Then again, maybe it will just be teased at the show. And we know how Bandai has been with teasing products in HM-R, and then waiting a while to release them...

That's cool if it is a VF-4, but DAMMIT Bandai!! Finish the Destroids and give us a TV QRau!

As far as the destroids, my thoughts exactly. It's my opinion that Bandai is holding out on these to keep people's attention on the line, knowing that they are the ones people still want.

    Condition Red! Prepare for attack!

    All pilots man your Destroids!

Awesome! The only thing that keeps this photo from being perfect is the fact that Bandai hasn’t released a Tomahawk or Phalanx for @Saburo to include with the other destroids.

  8. @grymg, that Devastator looks great. Those G1 reissues really bring back memories. I had the separate Constructicons, but I remember getting the gift set for the Aerialbots.

Is it a WalMart exclusive? And is there something on the packaging that clarifies it’s a reissue? I’ve seen those reissues for a while but never was sure what made them different from the originals.

Hope we see the TV VF-1S and TV fast packs at the Tamashii event later this month!

That would be fantastic! Having skipped the 1J, I'd definitely PO a 1S. I just hope they'd include both a Roy and Hikaru pilot for a TV version.

Now I'm thinking if I should buy an extra Super Parts just in case I decided to color it for my VF-1D.

Because seriously, who doesn't like an orange Super Parts on their VF-1D's?

Just be sure you make them a slightly different shade of orange from the valk, like Bandai did on the HMR VT-1.

From these pics, besides the pose ability I dont really say any major upgrades over the 1/48 Yamato VF1's.

Are you counting waist swivel under posability? That seems pretty major in my opinion.

I don’t own any Yamato 1/48, but it appears to me that lots of small upgrades (better sculpt, larger hands, articulated head lasers, etc) can add up to make this a “major” upgrade overall.

  12. It seems to me like the VF-1 itself and the super/strike parts are not bundled together. Meaning it would be over $200 for the combination. As @Slave IV said, not such a great deal for a KO.

More likely that these are parts that didn't pass QC initially, or excess part inventory from the Chinese factories.

This sounds to me like what may be going on here.

The last Thor film was my favorite out of the series, but I like captain America the best as a character in the films.

If you mean that Ragnarok was the best of the Thor movies, I’d have to agree. It was pretty solid, better than Black Panther in my opinion.

I’ll also be sad to see Captain America leave, as he’s probably my favorite character as well. I think his first movie and the first Iron Man might be my favorite MCU films, partly because I really enjoy origin stories.
