Finally picked up another regult; now I can actually open one lol (I like to keep one unopened).

Kicking myself for not buying more than one of the missile type sets. Those poor figs will never see the light of day :(

Yeah the Regult missile set has really skyrocketed. Really glad I bought one at release, but I’m also hesitant to open them now.

    Up to 6,354 now.

    Thank you

¥6354 ends up being ¥5883 if you're not in Japan, since the 8% tax is excluded.

The price disparity should actually be less wide, if you account for shipping.

I ordered 2 from Amazon JP. With their only shipping option to the U.S. (3 - 5 day estimate), my total is 14,934 yen.

If I ordered 2 from NY using JP Post Airmail (10 - 20 day estimate), the total is 14,385 yen.

I think when you're ordering in the volume that @sh9000 typically does, every little bit makes a difference. :D

This happened to someone I know who had their account suspended for canceling too many orders. You could try logging out and back in again.

Thanks. Figured it out -- it looks like it was already in my cart and wouldn't allow 2. I'm too sleepy to be doing this...

7200 yen for Amazon and love the cheap fast shipping!

Yep, just got one from there myself. Plus their website has no issues.

Anyone else notice how one picture has the (correct) one shoulder light in battroid, and the other has two shoulder lights in battroid?  Bandai loves their photoshop.

Or maybe the pictures are from different stages of development.

In that first battroid photo, I think it's just the angle that makes it look missing. The other light is just barely peeking out from behind the head.

From @CF18 post on the 18th, it will cost 7,770 yen (or 7.8k yen rounded up).

Edit: Corrected price posted not 7,780 yen.

That's retail? So most places would likely have their PO price set below 7K, I'd think. I believe the non-super VF-1A and VF-1J from 2 years ago came in well below 7K.

One thing to consider though.. depending on how many VF-1s Bandai intends to release, one missile set may be enough for all of them.  If they only release Hikaru's 1J and a Focker 1S, a single missile set will cover both of them.  Even if they produce a Hikaru 1S as well, it'll be enough for him too, because you'll have TV missiles for the 1J, reaction missiles for Roy, and the box launchers for Hikaru's 1S.  Each of those are iconic loadouts from key scenes, and it fits with Bandai's trend of canon configurations.

Good point. One set will be enough for me since I will likely only get the 1J and the Focker 1S.

I have a feeling that Bandai will jump around with the releases and the next VF-1 will be from DYRL.  They’re kind of doing that with HMR and not releasing everything back to back from one series.  I would also love a VF-1S TV Roy and VF-1A TV Max and Kakizaki but it might take a while.

I think you might be right but hope you’re wrong.  :)

The question is: if they release a movie version Roy next, do I go ahead and get it, not knowing if they’re going to ever do a TV version?

Now that I see the pic again, you are correct.  The HMR VF-1S Roy also came with that handle and hand.  Looks like this will be the first release of a TV style hand that can hold that gun handle.

Ah, I didn’t realize that Roy also had the larger gunpod handle. Good to know.

What is it pointing out about the two gun pods at the bottom?

No clue about the Japanese, but if I had to guess, it’s that they’ve redesigned the optional larger hand to actually hold the gun pod handle instead of molding the handle into the hand. At any rate, that looks like the standard HMR GU-11 handle on top that fits into the integrated hand, and the one below looks like the optional handle only available (so far) with the GBP VF-1J.

Whoa its an April general release. With the vf-4 releasing in March next year, thats a double dose of HMR in 2 consecutive months...

Those two are also the last and first valks that we see Hikaru pilot. Kind of poetic.

  13. Finally checked in after a couple of days of being busy, and you know, Thanksgiving, and...

Wow, they are actually doing the 1D! While I'm really excited, I honestly wouldn't have thought we would get this one for quite some time. The PO date is now added to my calendar.

And @sh9000, those destroids all look great on those displays.

The impression I get is that it has just become a Valkyrie fest.  Not one enemy mecha in the whole of 2018.

I can see what you mean. This has been a slow year in general for Macross HMR, though, and even in the busier years, we only got like 1 or 2 enemy mecha each year.
