I hope they don't move onto non-Macross Saga characters too soon.....the line would die....want this line to survive long enough to get Lisa, Max, Millia, Roy, Claudia, Gloval and Ben.....then if it survives those waves....Breetai, Zentran Soldier, Exedore, Bridge bunnies....
Heck....I'd take a Yotchan before they start thinking about Southern Cross or Mospeada...
They could do a sub-line of just Minmei alone, for all the different outfits she wears.
I doubt I'll be getting any of these (not enough money or space, plus I'm more into the mecha than figures) but I will agree these look cool, and it's always nice to see more SDFM stuff coming out.

I'll admit that some of my love for the Tomahawk comes from my Battletech (or Mechwarrior) experience, which was years before my knowledge of Macross.

Thanks. TV Hikaru is piloting mine as well.

Has the Phalanx actually been teased or shown yet? I didn't think it had...

That's an incredible TF collection, @Blue Meanie! Definitely takes me back. The sad thing is that I used to own at least a third of those, but not any more. I sold off my TFs waaaay back when, probably after I had moved on to Nintendo games. I used to store the toy back in the original box when I was done playing with it, and most the boxes lived in a row under my bed.

So I finally opened up my Defender. It's solid, great looking, and really fun to pose. Plus it rounds out the collection well. This was my first destroid, and it makes me really look forward to the Tomahawk. I would love for that to be next release, since we've had 2 valks lately, and it's been teased since forever.

No, I just swapped super parts around. I was hesitant to do anything non-reversible on them, especially for Milia as I only have one of her.
Here's a photo from a ways back:

Cool. That's the way I've been doing their super parts as well. I don't think I ever used their included gray parts.
Did you also paint the gray areas white, like on the nose? I really wish Bandai had just gone with white on the pair from the factory.

@arbit, I just found this thread, and think your work here is really impressive. Reminds me of when I put LEDs in the light bar of a 1/24 model police car as a kid back in the '80s, but this is way cooler. I'll be looking forward to seeing how this progresses.

I think you'll need something quite a bit stronger. I was trying to strip an HMR (the tampo, which might be tougher) and 90% isopropyl alcohol wouldn't touch it.

Yeah, it will swap. Though in my experience, the peg on the HMR head is just a tiny bit smaller, so it's a bit looser on the body. And you'd still have a blue visor of course.

Very nice Milia, @locidm. And I think you hit the highlights of the SDFM VF-1s there.
Those VF-1D photos make me really hope that Bandai eventually does one in HMR.

I think you're onto something there, @Chronocidal. I also think the VF-1 is such a classic, beautiful design that "busy" paint jobs like this one, the 30th VF-1J, and the recent anniversary HM-R VF-1S hide its naturally good-looking design and make it hard to appreciate. That's why the simple original "canon" schemes work so much better, in my opinion.

For some reason, someone's been downvoting almost every post with a photo over the last 2 pages. Not sure what's up with that; since they're on topic with HMR, and I personally always love seeing new pics. I decided to pass on the VE-1, so it's great seeing all the shots from others here.

So, I've never seen 7 or Delta (partly due to opinions I've read here on MW) but I will say that I think Zero is the weakest of the ones I have seen, save maybe Macross II. The main things that make Zero interesting for me are the connections back to SDFM (and now forward to Frontier) meaning it doesn't hold as much value on its own. And the psychic/supernatural elements in Zero got a little far out there for me. If a new series comes anywhere close to Frontier (which honestly owes a lot to SDFM) then I'll be very interested.

That's encouraging (or at least refreshing) to hear that the movies are apparently getting a reboot. I saw the first Bay movie in the theater in 2007, and never bothered with any of the rest. I enjoyed almost almost of the TV series (especially G1, Beast Wars, and Prime) and would be interested to see what they could do in live action that was more faithful to classic canon and characters, with TF designs that were actually recognizeable instead of a mass of various pieces. Case in point: I thought TF Prime was an excellent modern interpretation. Bottom line is that it's got to be more about the robots than the humans.

Great use of the trident, @sh9000! Is Roy on a separate stand? Or an extra arm branching off the front?
The trident is such a fun piece. Here's what's on mine currently:

@sh9000 - Those armored valks are looking sweet. Looking forward to seeing the red one for Milia. When it comes to the CF color, I think I prefer the VF-1A you did over the 1J.

VF Hi-Metal VF-1 Super Parts (Finally!)
I finally caved and both these two books from Mandarake after seeing @valkyriepilot's post a few pages ago. I assumed this is a 1992 reprint since it didn't came with a negative film. I totally forgot about the Gold Book before but now I have one too.
Macross DYRL Databank
Shoji Kawamori Macross Design Works
Congrats on getting the HM Super Parts. Those seem to be getting scarce.
And the books look pretty cool.

Yeah, that's a lot of ELINT Seekers. Not sure if even @sh9000 is getting that many.
@amptor -- Are you just a really big fan of this and the VT-1?
Speaking of VT-1, I'd also really love to see a PO soon. But with the last HMR releases being VF-1 variants, I'm guessing Bandai will mix it up and announce something else, like a destroid maybe (hopefully the Tomahawk).

Thanks for the heads up. Yoink
I've been jonesing for a HMR strike pack, and I needed a -1S Roy as well.
I guess you got it? I had been eyeing that page as well, since the price was so good. But I've already got multiples of the HM Strike Roy.

Cool. Did you happen to notice that this figure combination is exactly how Bandai teased the HMR VT-1 a few weeks ago?
By the way, here are some goodies that arrived this past week:

They'd have to make a new one due to the VE-1's ELINT pieces on the arms, surely? Not that the lack of good connection has stopped them from just using the super parts adapter even with units that don't have those parts for a good connection.
There's really no way that the current super parts fighter mode adapter would work. I also think they'd sculpt another one. I can't see them leaving that out, given that fighter mode is likely how most would display this. Wasn't there a photo of it on a stand at a recent show a few pages back?
And that's a good price for the VE-1 at NY.

Because of the exclusive release and the uniqueness of the design, I would expect the Regult missile set to climb in price into the future, even on the secondary market, similar to the first couple of HMR releases. I'm glad I decided to get a set on PO.
Now Bandai, how about that Tomahawk?

Mine was Prep in Progress that date as well but made it out about 3-4 days later. I think Nippon Yasan was closed all last week for a Japanese holiday. My Regults have apparently been sitting in customs in New York for almost a week at this point.
And @tekering, those are some really cool light effects! Great job with those.

Awesome. Cool to see that they come in brown shipper boxes. Being a Tamashii exclusive, I should have expected that, but still good to have visual confirmation.

Nice comparison. Though to be fair you should equip the VF-1 with super parts since the VF-2 has the SAP.
