  1. Man, I wish I could get 3 of these! Only pre-ordered 1.... but guess I should consider myself lucky that I can even afford that (considering these are toys) You gotta get 3 now, Loop!!!... Just so I can live vicariously through you
  2. Good catch there, Spanner! I don't own any of the original zeros either, but from what Loop said, it sounds like that would be one of the few changes that's actually worse in the new 0D compared to the old zeros. Thanks, David! Glad to contribute... I can't wait to get my hands on the new 0S and 0A
  3. Bwahahaha! That just made my day! At least we know the new zeros have good articulation
  4. Hm, good question. From what I've read here, I assumed the VF-0D was the new tooling release for this year. (Last year's was the YF-19, right?) So the rest of the releases this year will be considered re-releases (including the VF-0S and VF-0A even tho they'll get the same improvements that the 0D got). Is that right?
  5. Just saw this. People mentioned modding games for Macross - I hope they can for this one! Can you imagine!?
  6. So getting this! Awesome news about the interchangeable heads, but that does kinda suck they aren't including the super pack this time. The purple/lavender supers from Brera's 27 should look fine on it tho, right?... It'll just look like a valk the Joker would fly
  7. Super jealous of your b-day gifts, Keiichi! Congrats! I really wish Arcadia would re-release the strike packs already
  8. Ah ok, haha! Thanks for the info... Might have to pick this up too eventually
  9. Haha, I just said as much over in the Ozma 29 thread! That's capitalism for ya
  10. Nice pick-up, ChaoticYeti! Always been interested in the game, but don't know any Japanese whatsoever.... Is it possible to play still? Or is there some sort of translation out there for it?
  11. QFT! If Bandai (and Yamato/Arcadia) made enough to fill demand, there wouldn't be room for scalpers to make profit. But the funny thing is scalpers partly create the lack of supply (or certainly doesn't help it) by doing what they do. Luckily, we have this great community with people like you that largely levels the situation somewhat by bringing the items back to the fans.
  12. Supply and demand, folks.... But yeah, I agree that it's unfortunate that this hobby is so dictated by secondary market prices for a majority of the stuff to the point where if you don't get a popular item within 1-2 months of release (if not sooner), you'll be looking at a substantial price hike. But you can't really blame people for taking advantage of the situation... It happens with any market of popular items. That said, f@#% scalpers!!!
  13. Oh man, that one's awesome, jvm. It's a good thing I don't know where you live, haha! Thanks for all the info btw - much appreciated Found this poster which is just amazing especially since it's also signed... but $1200!?! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Macross-Do-You-Remember-Love-Movie-Promo-Poster-Signed-by-Mikimono-Mari-Ijima/161363830140?_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982&_trkparms=aid%3D777000%26algo%3DABA.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131227121020%26meid%3Dd9eef83cdfa4485dbaad3a174de8f87e%26pid%3D100009%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26sd%3D331488394423 Anyone win the lottery recently and wanna pick this up for me?
  14. Daaamn... you really know your collectibles, jvm! You know what would catch my interest now that I think about it?... Posters. I'm thinking of the large format frameable ones that would look awesome in the home office or man cave. Surprisingly, I haven't come across too many of those. Any of you guys seen posters like that in the market?
  15. Haha, you got me there, jvmacross! Out of curiosity, what else do you guys collect for Macross? I know animation cels and figures are big as well as vintage stuff... but otherwise I haven't found too much of interest outside of the toys for me. But I'm certainly a big enough Macross fan to branch out to other collectibles if something else catches my fancy.
  16. Yes, very true! I apologize if my example was overtly narrow in generalizing about eBay, but since this is the "Toy" section of the forum, I skewed the post toward that example. Plus, I do mostly collect toys since that's more my jam
  17. When it comes to Macross collectibles, I equate eBay to a tourist trap where visitors pay 3 bucks for a keychain or fridge magnet when they could find the exact same item for 50 cents if they simply go out a little farther and ask a native where to buy. It's a good thing I knew about MacrossWorld before I decided to start collecting cuz I don't think I would've been able to afford more than 2 valks total if I had to buy from eBay. I notice some of the sellers use some sketchy sales tactics too.... Like one seller post double listings for the valk they're selling, the first one at an extremely high price followed immediately by one that's a decent amount lower (but still ridiculous) so that the second one seems like a good deal by comparison to newbs or those unfamiliar to the hobby.
  18. @Jenius: Started reading a lot of your reviews recently and I'm a big fan of your videos, so I'm glad you got the leg all fixed. Can wait to see your coverage of the VF-0D
  19. I agree with ChaoticYeti. But if you like more metal, the VF-0D wins there. But both are great toys.
  20. Some of the comparison pics. (Credit goes all to Netvigator over at the Toysdaily forum.) Thanks, ChaoticYeti
  21. Dunno if this has already been shared here or in the VF-0D thread, but this thread over at Toysdaily forum has some great shots comparing the new 0D with the old VF-0A. It's a nice pictorial that shows some of the differences and improvements we might see in the new 0A and 0S: Comparison of VF-0D and VF-0A in the Toysdaily forum
  22. To be fair, just about any toy will get loose over time if you play around with them and transform them enough. That said, my 30 has been pretty good... altho not as good as the 0D. The 0D is almost at the point of being too tight.
