  1. Well, it's not my idea that the pods can have specialized functions since Kawamori-san already said as much back when the YF-30 was introduced. But as you pointed out, it could certainly be a cool distinguishing difference for the characters as well as the toy (aside from the inevitable head change too of course, lol).... Which is why I was thinking that perhaps that's the reason they haven't shown off the pods just yet. So as not too give away too much from the show? Whatever the case, at least this isn't as big of a tease as not revealing the 2 other forms for the SV-262 yet.
  2. Interesting.... Thanks for the synopsis, technoblue! Personally, I definitely like the changes made from the 30 to the 31. Whatever changes they made to the pod can only be better than the stadium lights, haha! I wonder if the reason they haven't shown off the pod in battroid yet is cuz each of the VF-31s in the team has a different pod with their own specialized function. So maybe like how Michel in Frontier was the sniper, perhaps one of the new pods can unfold to become a sniper rifle! And of course we've already seen what appears to be a pod that splits to resemble VF-29 canons.
  3. I really hope that's it! I'd love me a SV-51 with the Arcadia treatment! However, there could be other possibilities.... The first part with the hyphen is obviously the valkyrie model designation. The second part is likely a name as neoexcaliber has already guessed, but aside from "Ivanov", it could also be "Hikaru" or "Basara" perhaps? My money's still on the SV-51 tho since Arcadia has the Macross Zero license and appears to be milking it for all its got at the moment.
  4. Thanks for the insight, guys! I agree the differences really sets them apart, but the price of the Arcadia (especially now on the secondary market) is such a big barrier. I guess I'll keep hunting and hopefully come across a deal.
  5. Those have been up for a short while now. I was originally dead set on getting an Arcadia YF-19 when I first decided to get into collecting about a year ago, but after getting the Bandai VF-19 Advance, I have now almost completely lost all interest (especially at these prices still). I know the VF-19 isn't the YF-19 and it's a Frontier valk, SMS etc. etc.... But regardless it has more than satisfied my Isamu 19 itch. Am I the only one? Or do others feel the same way? For those that don't, is the Arcadia really still worth the pick-up when considering the cost?
  6. I don't think it's necessarily production tolerances so much as that almost everything on this guy is crazy stupid tight out of the box. Even after a half dozen transformations now (and I even loosen the hip screws as suggested), it still takes quite some effort to push everything into their proper positions in fighter mode. But once I do, for the most part everything lines up nicely with minimal gaps as others here have shown. Regardless of level of gappyness, I'm really looking forward to your review/comparison, Jenius!
  7. Nothing for my HLJ order yet. But I'm certainly happy that they're fulfilling those later pop-up orders! There's hope yet! EDIT: Scratch that!... I got the payment request 10 mins after I posted, haha! Whoohoo!
  8. I certainly agree with everyone else about the unknowns regarding quality, durability, etc.... But no one has mentioned the price. At about only 2/3 the cost of the Arcadia version, I think (IMHO) it's a no-brainer to pick up if you're a fan of the 19 and your interest is still high after watching the video. I'm actually in the opposite situation as you (don't have the previous YF-19s but have a pre-order for this VF-19) and I'm actually somewhat glad I didn't pay secondhand market price for the Arcadia now since I'm liking the esthetics of the VF-19 more and don't mind the more complex transformation at all. Like ArchieNov, I'm a fan of the engineering.
  9. I guess I'm a glass half full guy... personally, I'm loving the neck cover that tucks away into the shield idea. IMO it takes care of the 2 (arguably) most important modes: fighter and battroid. And while in gerwalk, it's no different than Arcadia - if you don't want to use the extra neck shield piece, you don't have to! But you have the option at least. Anyway, after seeing that video, I'm totally pumped for this figure! Like a few other people here, I'm really hoping HLJ comes through on their strange pre-order pop-ups. Come on HLJ!!!
  10. Oh man... sorry to hear that. Those odds don't sound too good. But if you're feeling somewhat optimistic about this, then I will too!
  11. Nice! You're fortunate to have such a good friend! And here I thought I was lucky to have snag one of those HLJ anomalies. (Still have no idea if HLJ is even going to fulfill them or not. ) *crosses fingers*
  12. The 1 per customer limit is listed in the check out page.
  13. Mr. K requires blood sacrifice. Grey goggles don't come free you know.
  14. What CY said! (Jump to the 2:50 mark)
  15. Oh man, could you?!... Thanks so much, CY! Grey would be just fine... I'm just glad to get a replacement at all, lol All my Macross fund is still going towards valks at the moment or otherwise I would've ditched this Yamato stand and gotten a YetiStand from the get-go. But for now, it's all I've got so I really appreciate it. I'll PM you to ask for the details on how to pay you for the print. Thanks again!
  16. Dunno if this is the appropriate thread to ask in (apologies in advance if it isn't), but does anyone know where I can get a replacement for the small plug cap that locks the top-most piece in place on the Yamato stand after you've chosen your angle and slotted it in? I recently got a first release YF-21 that comes with the clear stand and that plug cap piece is missing.
  17. Ah gotcha... In that case, I agree. Hope the color comes out relatively close to the photos as I'm definitely liking the cool tones on this new 0A. More tampos out of the box still would be nice tho.
  18. Amazing, wm cheng! Hope you don't mind, but since I still don't have an Arcadia YF-19, I made a quick before/after pic so I could admire all the intricate details you added in there. (The "before" photo I used is from http://www.gunjap.net/.) Thanks for sharing your great work! Definitely agree that the 19 should've come with most of those markings tampo'ed on out of the box.
  19. Yeah, that latest twitter pic certainly looks amazing with all those markings!... But knowing Arcadia, none of them will actually be tampos on the final product
  20. NY still has the Monster in stock: https://www.nippon-yasan.com/macross/9753-macross-f-dx-chogokin-koenig-monster-wings-of-valkyrie-limited-edition.html As for the Arcadia GBP, I believe the pre-order period ended. But I'm sure you'll be able to snag one once it's released.
  21. You're right... I wonder if it's the 1/48 and they just mislabeled it. Here's another pic...
  22. https://twitter.com/taylandplus/status/599779800669032449 It's from the 54th Shizuoka Hobby Show... but unfortunately, it's not the Bandai toy. It's a 1/72 model kit mod I believe. Looks so awesome... sure has me pumped for the Bandai release!
  23. The only mention of missiles in the description on the seller sites is "medium-range air-to-air missile" which is the group of three missiles you're talking about. I wouldn't be surprised if that's all they include if the VF-0D is any indication. As much as I love my 0D, man, they were stingy with the accessories.
  24. LOL, I'm thinking Mr.K is a bit too into his valks. Seriously tho, I wonder what he uses that for... Maybe even in the prototype stage the joints are too tight, haha
